Feb 10, 2010Okay, I have been running sholes for a few days now and I am really digging it. I have also just OCd to 800 mhz (which I am currently happy with). I keep hearing about Pete's Bugless Beast. My question is, which of the two is better? I am not looking for opinions but more or less facts as to why someone would flash BB over Sholes or vise versa. Is there performance differnces, visual differences, etc.?

Feb 13, 2010I just rooted yesterday and when I went to bed last night, I put my Droid in my multimedia and noticed that the temperature is displayed in Celcius, and I can't get it to change to Fahrenheit. I went to settings and Celcius isn't set, does anyone else have this problem?

Jan 28, 2010First off, let me just say that I recently switched over to the Droid from my Palm Pre on Sprint, which was a huge letdown for me. I'm loving my Droid so far and I just rooted it today with Sholes 1.2 ROM. I'm not that impatient to install a 2.1 ROM on my phone, as I already like 2.0.1 enough to keep it stock.I was curious about installing some of the 2.1 apps on it, which is why I ended up installing Sholes 1.2. However, I've noticed that it seems to take quite a bit of my memory compared to stock 2.0.1. In fact, it seems to run slower in general than the stock 2.0.1. Is there any way to improve this, or should I just wait for the 2.1 OTA?

Feb 10, 2010I wasn't having much luck with the video recording, but saw a thread on how to improve the quality with a few modifications. Thread here: http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid/39706-higher-quality-video-recording.html. It suggested that I change the bps from 300,000 to 800,000. I couldn't really figure out how to do it, so I never did. I eventually installed the Sholes ROM from the Market and noticed an instant improvement in video quality. I checked my Astro file, (in the system/build file as in the link posted above), and noticed that it is now set to 900,000 bps, rather than 300,000 obviously this was changed automatically by the Sholes ROM. Just another confirmation that the Sholes was a great decision, for me at least. Here's a couple of videos to show the difference. This is a breakfast/storage room and my dog, Riley, who never knows exactly how to behave in front of the camera.

Motorola Droid :: SD Card Not Mounted In DM Updater?
Mar 22, 2010I have been running Cyanogen 5.0.5 since yesterday. I always jump back and forth between DM Updater and Clockwork depending on what recovery I need to flash a particular rom, update or kernel. Today I cranked up DM Updater expecting it to ask if I want to update recovery and I am getting a "Your SD card is not mounted" error. My SD card is fine. Just for giggles I went into my clockwork recovery and unmounted and remounted. ROM Manager reports no errors. I am at work so I can't install SB Recovery using my current PC using adb as I normally would. I guess the ROM I want to play with (SB Recovery format) will have to wait.

Feb 26, 2010I've have downloaded, unistalled, and re-downloaded DM Updater and when I open the app I get a message that reads: "Looks like your phone is rooted, but you have not given DM Updater access yet. You *must* check the remember box!"
I am indeed rooted, using sholes 2.0.5 (maybe thats why?) Never had any problems getting 'permission' for an app before. The dialogue box doesn't even pop up when I open DMU like it does with other apps the first time you run them and get the option to allow root access.

I really like the performance I'm getting now that I'm rooted but Pandora is a must have for me - so if I can't get it fixed I'll have to go back to stock - BOO. Does anyone know of a ROM that gives the same audio quality as the stock 2.1 OS? Or does anyone know if I'm maybe just doing something wrong?

Sep 3, 2010The reason why I am asking this is because I want to set myself up for the vanilla rom. From what I have read, the blur messaging us taken out. (Obviously) but despite its ugliness, I just love the fact that I can send video and if its too big, it redirects me to edit length. I am currently running handcent and handcent does not redirect me to video edit lite. So my question is what messaging ap will allow me to send videos the same way the stock app does? Another thing is that I can't even view videos sent to me from handcent, and almost every mms is sent as a slideshow (on both messaging apps). Is there any way around that?
