Apr 28, 2010I have not really found any threads in these forums deticated just to overclocking the Droid. I am running BB v.9 and would like to overclock past 600 mhz. I have 2 overclocking utilities. (Setcpu, and overclock widget) I understand that I have to update or flash the Kernel. The adb commands were successfull. WHen I rebooted my droid it was bricked (well not really cause I did a Nandroid backup right before I did this) It was just frozen with the white Motorola logo. Perhaps I downloaded a bad 800 mhz evilboot8.img.

Mar 1, 2010I have noticed a bunch of threads in this forum and other forums discussing the white clock fix while using themes. The first fix that I came across was the xUltimate way, which for me was not that big of a deal, but I could see where it might be a problem for some. Well, thanks to Adamz over at the other site, there is a new way to fix this problem as well as adding an easier way to change the fonts within your droid. I have only tested this on the Smoked Theme, but from the way that it works, it looks as if it will work for most themes. Jul 15, 2010Well I managed to get my hands on an X from my local VZW store this morning. First impression of the screen is that it is very washed out when compared to my old Droid. Side by side, the original Droid shows colors very vividly while the Droid X almost looks like it just made it past black and white. Just wanted to get some opinions on the screen from others. I also managed to play with a Samsung Vibrant at a T-mobile store and it was very beautiful, almost makes me want to return the X and wait for the fascinate to come out on VZW.

Nov 7, 2009All of the sudden a white line has appeared across the middle of my lock screen. If I open up the keyboard (so the screen becomes horizontal) the line also turns horizontal but doesn't go all the way across the screen (just extends the distance of the vertical width of the phone) The line does not appear when I log in, so it's not dead pixels. I tried changing the wallpaper, didn't do anything. Tried taking out the batter, but also didn't do anything. I tried the pixel fixer app, but again it's not dead pixels so obviously that didn't do anything either. Suggestions? I suppose the next step is to restore the phone to factor defaults (how do I do that?), unless someone has something else I can try

Aug 17, 2010I noticed this started happening about 2 weeks ago. I haven't yet taken it to the verizon store, but every time I try and take an outside picture the following pictures is what happens.
These were all taken on a rather overcast day, I've looked through various settings and cant figure out if there is anything i need to change. Right now I'm leaning towards it being defective, any opinions?

Nov 25, 2010Been running Rubix since 1.6 release. Recently updated to 1.8.9. Been running it for a day then decided to theme it. I put Buyers Beware on it and ran it for half a day. Ran great!! Saved a backup and then flashed back to my bare 1.8.9 backup and installed Sinful Blue theme. Ran this theme for a day. Last night I noticed that my Settings menu was missing. It wasn't there. Couldn't find it anywhere. Opened spare part to look at battery info and it forced closed. Then I noticed that everything in spare parts FC'ed. Fed up I flashed back my good Buyers Beware backup. Once rebooted there was no service. Funny, unlocked the phone and there is no dialer. It says that application isn't loaded on my phone. Also my contacts app is gone. Gettin' worried. Flashed back to my bare 1.8.9 backup and everything works great. For kicks and giggles I rebooted recovery and loaded the Buyers Beware theme again, the one that worked great when I first installed....NO DIALER AGAIN! Back to bare 1.8.9 I go.

Oct 5, 2010I'm tired of the slow performance of the Motorola Bluetooth voice dialer. Now with Froyo sporting its own Bluetooth voice dialer, does anyone know if there's a way to switch to it? I am running 2.2. My biggest issue with the Motorola bluetooth voice dialer is that'll take up to 30 seconds from the time I press the dial button on my bluetooth device till it'll be ready for me to say a command. Totally unacceptable! Is my only option to go to a custom ROM?

Jan 23, 2010For anyone who didn't see this already over at alldroid, there is a new ROM that I am using that is pretty sweet, its a 2.0.1 rom with 2.1 apps similar to that of the bugless beauty but it doesn't move the /system apps to /data and the notification bar is a dark transparent with white clock? home screen rotation works too. It is a very nice rom and I think very quick, as quick as the version .5 of the bugless one I was using. He is also coming out with a version with wifi tethering but said u can install it separately and it works. I haven't tested that out yet. All in all its a great rom and I am definitely sticking with this one because the theme applied is super slick!

I've tried to fix this with changing the texture sizes to power of 2 (I used jpeg images as backgrounds, and they wasn't power of 2, however this worked fine on all my test devices).

Jul 16, 2010Everytime i open up the dialer on my x it works fine in the sense of letting me dial a number. However, if i switch to the favorites or contacts tabs at the top my phone will exit out of the dialer back to the home screen. I hope this is something that can be fixed over an update. Btw if i go directly to contacts from the home scrren it works fine.

Aug 23, 2010I have just gotten this phone and am very aggravated by the Voice Dialer. I use a blutooth headset, and use that because I work outside and my hands are usually sweaty or wet. The issue is that it's awful. It hardly ever hears me correctly, and without any warning it calls the wrong person! Very annoying at 7 in the morning, or 10 at night when you start dialing random people.I tried a different method, saying "open contacts" and it still dials random people.The Google Voice App understands me perfectly when I use it for texting or email. Why can't this Voice Dialer?Is there a way to replace the Voice Dialer with something better?Or is there a way to force it to confirm who I want to call?

Jul 22, 2010I had to call in to the automated system and enter my jury ID number and pin. The ID number is 9 digits and the pin is 4 digits. When punching these numbers in using the stock dialer, the system I was calling kept messing up. It didn't prompt me like it should, and when it read my entries back to me, they were wrong. The system would report that I'd entered 88 when I'd entered 80 or something. I tried this 3 or so times before I started to think my phone was the problem. I called back with another phone and it worked fine (it was some old Motorola phone but I've actually interacted with this system using my iPhone 3G in the past just fine). I called the system back with my X and, this time, punched in the numbers slowly (half a second or so between key presses). This time, everything went swimmingly. I haven't replicated this on other automated systems, but it's clear at least one of them has a problem with the X's stock dialer when it's used quickly. Anyone have a similar problem?

Oct 8, 2010Just hung up from a phone call, went to make another and nothing happening. phone was really slow, it re dialed previous call, then call i wanted to make and another call. Did a battery pull. Phone boots, but doesn't let me get to screen to unlock. Just loops by itself has dialer up , keeps trying to dial 8, gets error message, call not sent, 8 is not an emergency number. clicks ok by itself and trys again. I have wavesecure and lock code.Anyway possible to stop this and get in and break this up. I can't get to screen at all, i can't unpower it, if i try that it keeps doing this in airplane mode.
