View 7 RepliesWhen using navigation is there a way to set the maps to a night mode? The screen is way to bright to use at night even after turning brightness all the way down.
View 4 Replies View RelatedYes this could be old news but listen. My D1 will not go into night mode w navigation app when I am in the tab of navigation. It has been written that it is supposed to go into night mode in the navigation "tab" not map "tab", but it's not.

View 18 Replies View RelatedCan anyone confirm if Google Navigation can be used to just show your progress/location on a road while driving, without having to have an actual destination input?I know this was shown on a few of Rob's videos as not being possible, but just wanted to confirm if anyone had any further info on it.
View 30 Replies View RelatedAs much as I dislike bringing up the word iPhone, I know it has a nice little thing built in that keeps track of your text / voice usage in comparison to whatever plan you have. Considering I'm on a family plan and didn't get a whole lot of texts (yay for google talk!), it'd be nice if I could quickly and easily check my usage Anyone know if there is an app for this / something that verizon has that supports this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got done playing with the Droid X.Awesome phone but I'm stuck with the Droid until my contract is up anyways the really cool thing I liked about the Droid X was the car app screen it has with the huge buttons and music player and contact favorites all built in.Is there any possible way of getting it on the original Droid or an app like it?
View 5 Replies View Relatedjust wondering how much the droid will overload Verizon data network, I used 700MB of data last month.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am taking a holiday to South West France (Nantes Area) in July and hope to use Google Navigation but I am a bit concerned about data usage. I am on t-mobile 3gb limit but that won't apply as soon as I go out of UK coverage, bearing in mind $5.00 per a MB I could use a a lot of MBs to make a 200 mile journey. What my main concerns are,
1. Although I can set up Google to navigate to where I am going at home, will it cache the route but if I exit Google Nav is the route deleted.
2. Would it be best to buy a euro data bundle from t-mobile,I don't intend using the phone for anything else, apart from perhaps an odd call or text.
3. Try another Navigation app, have tried Andnav2 but can't seem to extract the maps onto my phone and have tried it where I live and it wanted to send me a longer route down country lanes rather than the direct route.
4. Buy a French PAYG SIM card with some data allowance, could be difficult as my French is not that fluent!
5. Buy a Navigation app such as Destinator 9,don't really want to pay for something like that. Perhaps I could get away with the trial period.
6. Scrap the whole idea and use some thing like mapdroid,or just buy a road map.
I just want to get to my destination without paying a fortune or running up a huge bill without knowing it.
Which car dock puts the phone into navigation immediately? Could I get a link please?
View 3 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know how much data Google Maps & Navigation uses? Obviously this can change depending on how far you are going and what type of map detail you are using, but I was just wondering. Is it hundreds of MBs for each trip around the block, or something much smaller? With AT&T's tiered data plans, this is important to know.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhenever I use Google Navigation my phone temperatures rise to an incredible amount. Just recently I was traveling for about 45min and the temperatures were even up to 123.8F...
is this normal?
Ok So I'm trying to get into recovery mode on my Droid but it won't work.I hold "x" and the power button, the Moto logo pops up, then "Android" pops up and it boots normal. It just won't go into recovery mode
View 8 Replies View RelatedDo you know if there is a night mode on the Motorola Droid. I find the phone screen to be very bright at night. I am thinking about something like the GPS do, White backgrounds during the day, black at night etc etc. Any ideas on how to do this? I have lowered the brightness all the way down but that is still too bright.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just noticed that while my phone is in vibrate mode, there is no audio from any of the media players (Pandora, Cube 3, etc). This is both out of the speaker and headphone jack. I realized it because I plugged my phone in and tried to listen to Pandora after a meeting I had. The phone was still on vibrate, and no sound was coming out of the speakers I had plugged in. Putting the phone into normal ring mode rather than vibrate mode made the music start playing again. I realize that ringtones are basically audio files, so it makes sense that this the default operation, but I just thought I would ask if everyone else experiences this or if there is some setting I can change on my phone to make music play even when the vibrate mode is active.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI love my Droid the only problem I have so far is I wish I had a "phone only" mode like on Blackberry. There are times where I like having all the sounds muted, but still want to have the phone ringtone on so that way I can hear the phone. I haven't found a way to do this yet, does anyone know how to?
View 14 Replies View RelatedAm I the only one that prefers navigating in portrait as opposed to landscape. It seems that you get more view of the road ahead, rather then the sides. What am I missing, where / why would landscape be preferred?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo the other day I rooted my phone and it just keeps restarting on me. Cant get into recovery mode or anything. Now I gotta send this phone back to Verizon and I don't want to send it back with it being rooted cause I don't want to get charged for the phone. Now my question is how can I mess up my phone so Verizon don't know that I rooted my phone. This may sound dumb but I kinda need a way to fry it or something like that.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy son was playing with my phone a few days ago. When I got it back, and turned the screen back on, wavesecure had locked the phone. I asked my son how he turned it on, he said all he did was put the phone into airplane mode. Wierd I thought.
Was flying yesterday. Purposely put the phone in airplane mode. Turned phone back on, and wow, wavesecure had locked it again.
I know this isn't a feature! Has this happened to anyone else. I have uninstalled Wavescure. BTW, this issue of airplane mode and wavesecure has not happened to me until this week. I have had wavesecure on my phone since nov, and have used airplane mode without these issues.
what mode are people running their battery? i just noticed that under smart mode, it turns off the 3g when the phone sleeps. does perf mode drain the battery noticeably faster?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been reading and I've downloaded the ROM Manager from the Marketplace. I've also downloaded a ROM to install. I have tried to boot my phone into recovery mode (pressing X while powering back on) and all I get to is a screen with the exclamation mark and a phone under it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI love using my DROID in the OEM Car Dock. I have it setup in landscape mode, but I'm seriously thinking of reconsidering this. More-or-less, because I have to. Every app seems to work great in landscape mode all, except for one, that is. The phone app. What's up with that?Go ahead, try it! Open up the phone app (displaying the dial pad), and turn the DROID on it's side nu thin'! Now open the hardware keyboard. Isn't that a hoot? I would love to know how you're supposed to dial a phone when there isn't any dial pad. In my honest opinion, this is one of the biggest over-sights with the DROID and I have yet to hear anyone mention this issue on this forum, or any other forums. NOTE: Scroll down to post # 16 for an update.
View 30 Replies View RelatedOk so I'm not familiar with Android (Palm OS -> WinMo 5 -> WinMo 6 -> WinMo 6.1 -> WinMo 6.5 -> WebOS) ... One thing that I didn't like about the Pre is that Sprint Navigation is in portrait mode, so it doesn't work well for mounting in a car.Does the Android Sprint Nav work in landscape mode? This would be beautiful to have on the Evo and mounted in the car (and I heard there will be a car mount accessory for it) in landscape mode instead of my GPS I already use.. along with bluetooth to my car stereo.

I'm using NavDroyd app witch is turn by turn navigation. NavDroyd uses OpenStreetMap (it's the same detail like google maps) and it have voice guide. The big diference with google maps is that NavDroyd doesn't require a network connection witch is pretty cool. It have maps from all over the world and you can download to your memory card via pc(so you can do that very fast). It have pinch to zoom and use your GPS to locate you so everything work like a charm. I don't find on the market so you can easy find on the net. I'm using firmware 2.1- update 1 not rooted phone
View 1 Replies View RelatedAny app for GPS navigation which has voice routing possible in pedestrian mode? I sometimes need to go to some destination in a part of the city which is not familiar for me.
However, the navigations I tried, have voice routing only in car mode, so it has to take in account things like driving directions etc. which the pedestrian does not have to respect and thus the track is much shorter.
It would be nice if I, for example, just could get off the bus, switch my GPS on, select destination, activate the voice routing and put my phone in a pocket and let the navigation voice guide me to the target place. It would be more comfortable as I sometimes see the map very poorly and also have to keep an eye on other pedestrians, cars etc.
Currently tried Sygic and it does not have this.
