I am going to swap to a bigger card this morning when my 32 GB get here from verizon. I took card out and copied entire contents to my PC. Will everything work after I copy back on new card or do I have to do something else.Don't want any surprises. I would think it would be already formatted but if not I will format it FAT32

View 3 Replies View RelatedI got a Droid 2 recently and decided to put the 16GB card from my O.G. Droid but before so I wiped everything from it, minus my pictures and videos. My Droid 1 is rooted and I wanted to go back to it but now when I try to flash a rom it doesn't work and it looks like a bunch of stuff is missing from the SD card or whatever it needs for clockwork to do its magic. So the question is what do I need to do to get back to where I can flash roms willy nilly like before? Do I need to go to stock then re-root or is there a more simple way?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'd like to take some of the data that is automatically downloaded to the SD card and have it run off the internal memory. Is there a list of apps that allows this without problems?
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo recently I got lack of internal memory(it is only 512MB though) and I tried to swap internal memory with microSD(marked as sdcard2). However, Im noob in this and after changing the lines I understood, that I changed sdcard with sdcard2(swapped sdcard and sdcard2), however, my android system seems to be not working now. I can boot and access settings, but thats all. No menu, no apps, no anything. Empty screen, only settings accessible. I cannot access any files or anything...
What I tried:
- Connecting phone to PC as I have Android Commander program which can browse system files from pc, unfortunately, failed to connect.
- Factory reset. Didnt work.
- Recovery mode - tried all options that are available, didnt work.
The phone is Prestigio Multiphone PAP4300 DUO. When I boot to the phone, I unlock it and I get many messages saying com.android.phone, system and such things stopped working. When pressing HOME button, it goes to home, but its empty(empty screen) and tells Launcher stopped working too. All I can do is access the settings. Cant call anyone though.
What to say to warranty service when I will bring the phone to them. Can they recognize that its rooted/that the vold.fstab file is modified?
Specs: [URL] ......
That looks to be white, but mine is black. I rooted it only. Havent done any changes to the phone until yesterday - swap the memories.
This phone of mine is in Android Gingerbread 2.3.6. The phone is already rooted but without CWM.
Here are the significant screenshots that maybe needed (Specs of the Phone, File Explorer structure and path of the SD Card, Internal Storage & SD Card capacities, and Location Path and Size of the vold.fstab):
Attached file below is the original untouched "vold.fstab" file from my MyPhone A818 Duo Slim in zip
So I just got my class 6 8gb memory card and I want to make the switch. What's the best way to go about this? Should I just copy all contents of the stock memory card into a folder and then copy and past all of that onto the new card and then make the switch? Or is there a better way? I don't want to screw anything up and I don't want to lose anything (pics, music, settings, etc.)

I have tried to swapped virtual keyboards on my new HTC Evo- so far no luck. Here is what i have done- i installed a virtual keyboard like better keyboard or ultra keyboard-head over to settings-Language & Keyboard- and it gives me an option to click on whatever keyboard I want. Which I do, but it will not boot that keyboard- still goes to default. I have also restarted the phone afterward. No luck. Am I doing something wrong?

I remember seeing apps in the market that you could install to have your Droid look like the Hero or iPhone.Specifically the lock screen.I was just wondering if there are any apps yet to make your Droid look like the Incredible? Not just the lock screen, but in general.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to dynamically swap in and out various layouts to one layout container. I've instantiated the container layout (mContainerLayout) by finding it using the id through the main Activity layout. This is successful. Next, I add the inner layout by calling:
layoutInflater = this.getLayoutInflater();
and then inflating the inner layout like this:
mInnerLayout = (LinearLayout) layoutInflater .inflate(R.layout.inner_layout, mContainerLayout);
This seems to work fine. I see the inner layout displayed in the Activity that holds the containing layout. Next, I want to swap in another inner layout, so I call: mContainerLayout.removeAllViews();and then I repeat the steps above. This is successful as well. The problem is when I try to swap in and out the instantiated layouts (the one that's returned from the inflate() call). When I call: mContainerLayout.removeAllViews();and then call: mContainerLayout.addView(mInnerLayout ); get a 'source not found' error. My question is: how can I swap the Layouts that have already been instantiated?

View 2 Replies View RelatedIf this is a ridiculous question, I apologize in advance. I currently have my Evo rooted with toast method, and am using the 8GB SD card that came with it. I am going to buy the 32GB card in the next few days and just was wondering if swapping out those cards would undo any of the things I have done root/rom-wise so far or if I have to take anything into consideration whatsoever?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've tried Go Launcher EX, but I hated the small dock icons. I'm using Samsung Galaxy Nexus, is there a Launcher that:
1. Don't alter the ICS dock icon size, or that have an option to resize the dock icons?
2. That support swipe gesture in the dock? (Swipe upwards to open shortcut)
3. Where it is easy to swap icons?
Which Launcher can do this?
The camera on my Legend is faulty and I've finally got Vodafone to send me a replacement, but I'm worried that I'm going to lose all of my personalization etc and have to spend hours getting the new phone to the way I've got my current one. I'm not too bothered about background, widgets etc, but I was wondering if anyone could give me advice as to how to get as much info from the old handset to the new - particularly the contacts that I want who are linked through Google and Facebook, and the apps I've downloaded.I've tried syncing with HTC Sync but, to be honest, am finding it confusing; I can't see what I've synced so am not sure if there was any point in doing that. I've also backed my phone and Google contacts up on the SD card (I think!) but I'm not sure if this will work.I love the Legend, but I hate how much of a technoidiot it makes me feel! I'm supposed to be competent with these things!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI plugged in my HTC Inspire 4G, and tried to copy everything on the card to a temporary folder, which I will then copy back to my new SD card. But the weird thing is Windows says the total size of all files and folders I copied is 1.85GB, but when I right click->Properties on the Removable Disc, it says the card has 1.94GB used. So there's about 90MB of something that's on the card but Windows can't see or copy. I'm concerned there's something hidden there that will cause problems if my phone can't find it on the new card. Any way I can make sure everything is copied over?

Whenever I use Google Navigation my phone temperatures rise to an incredible amount. Just recently I was traveling for about 45min and the temperatures were even up to 123.8F...
is this normal?
I am running Android 4.1.1 on a Samsung GT-I9250M Galaxy Nexus.
Third, I have two carriers: a Straight Talk Unlimited Prepaid SIM (United States GSM/HSDPA) & a Claro Prepaid SIM (Honduras, GSM)
1) I installed the Straight Talk SIM in the phone.
2) I installed the battery in the phone.
3) I powered on the phone.
4) I enabled full disk encryption, choosing an easy-to-memorize password.
... over two weeks, i successfully decrypt the phone on boot 30 - 40 times with the password ...
... then i travel to honduras and purchase a Claro SIM ...
5) I powered off the phone.
6) I installed the Claro SIM in the phone.
7) When prompted to "type password to decrypt storage" I enter the correct password.
8) I am prompted to "try again."
9) I enter the correct password.
10) I m prompted to "try again."
11) I powered off the phone.
12) I installed the Straight Talk SIM in the phone.
13) When prompted to "type password to decrypt storage" I enter the correct password.
14) I am prompted to "try again."
15) I enter the correct password.

I have tried booting with the Straight Talk SIM, the Claro SIM, and with no SIM. I have tried removing the battery. I am able to boot in Recovery Mode. However, performing a factory reset is not a viable option for me. I need to regain access to my phone. Why would the encryption key be altered by the SIM change? And wouldn't reinstalling the Straight Talk SIM be enough?
So I spent the last hour or more in my backyard in 107 degrees taking pictures of flowers at stock settings with both phones. NOT an easy task I will tell you that. My back hurts, but besides that... I did my best to show the best quality of BOTH cameras, because they are both great. I realize that not everyone will agree with me, or will think I messed with something in my pictures. But these are all completely stock settings, not messed with at all. I only touched the flash on/off button. My decision is I like the X camera better, it is easier to focus, and much snappier. Plus designated camera button! I found on the Incredible while the pictures look great on the phone itself and in gallery, that as soon as they were uploaded the colours looked washed out and not as great. I know this is due to the AMOLED screen. But both overall great. My decision is the X though.

The main points that I like to enjoy is: Droid beat out the phone that beat the iPhone, and the Droid got further in the brackets than any other Android OS phone Some of the progress is due to hardware, some due to following (over the Nexus'), but a lot due to the v2.01 (and now 2.1) version of the Android OS. Also, this poll is open ALL weekend - it does not close until April 5th, so we have tons of time...but then again, so does the Palm Pre. Let's have at 'em!
I sold my Motorola Droid and purchased an HTC incredible, I have now owned the incredible since its release day and I think it's a pretty awesome phone, that being said...My Moto Droid took better video, had a better battery life, much better speakerphone, seemed to be built better and heavier had a physical keyboard that was really needed to use emulators properly and had way way better 3g reception. HTC sense UI is very nice but defaults the phone to dead last when updating the OS (and I'm hearing some great things about Froyo) so probably won't see an update till October/November ;( ... The magnetic sensor was also a plus when docking and using the GPS ... now the bad ......... when using the Motorola Droid as a phone, callers complained that my voice was muffled, haptic feedback stopped working when then OS updated to 2.1 and the phone lacked internal memory and not nearly enough RAM but it was the 1st of its generation (in my opinion, sorry T-Mobile ) and I'm sure its shortcomings will be resolved with the next gen Moto Droid. It's supposed to have a keyboard with slightly raised keys and assumingly going to have a 1ghz processor or better .... I guess what I'm trying to say is.... If they beat or match HTC hardware specs, I think Motorola is a better phone company. This is just an opinion and I'm posting this to see what others may think .. PS. I really hate that the incredible doesn't have a native landscape mode for audio player and unless the dock activates something I'm unaware of the phone will probably also not navigate in landscape mode when placed in it ....

HTC must have done a ton of work in this area, assuming that the basic exchange functionality in 2.1 on the Incredible is the same that comes w/2.1 on the Droid. If that support could be ported to the Droid (either as an entire ROM, or just the exchange support sliced off) that would be amazing.
