If this is a ridiculous question, I apologize in advance. I currently have my Evo rooted with toast method, and am using the 8GB SD card that came with it. I am going to buy the 32GB card in the next few days and just was wondering if swapping out those cards would undo any of the things I have done root/rom-wise so far or if I have to take anything into consideration whatsoever?

So I just got my class 6 8gb memory card and I want to make the switch. What's the best way to go about this? Should I just copy all contents of the stock memory card into a folder and then copy and past all of that onto the new card and then make the switch? Or is there a better way? I don't want to screw anything up and I don't want to lose anything (pics, music, settings, etc.)
View 6 Replies View RelatedI got a Droid 2 recently and decided to put the 16GB card from my O.G. Droid but before so I wiped everything from it, minus my pictures and videos. My Droid 1 is rooted and I wanted to go back to it but now when I try to flash a rom it doesn't work and it looks like a bunch of stuff is missing from the SD card or whatever it needs for clockwork to do its magic. So the question is what do I need to do to get back to where I can flash roms willy nilly like before? Do I need to go to stock then re-root or is there a more simple way?

I have tried to swapped virtual keyboards on my new HTC Evo- so far no luck. Here is what i have done- i installed a virtual keyboard like better keyboard or ultra keyboard-head over to settings-Language & Keyboard- and it gives me an option to click on whatever keyboard I want. Which I do, but it will not boot that keyboard- still goes to default. I have also restarted the phone afterward. No luck. Am I doing something wrong?

So i semi regularly swap back and forth between my iphone 4's mini/micro Sim back to full Sim with a adapter to use in the captivate... never had a problem until today,,, i put the Sim in and now the captivate is not recognizing my Sim. I've double triple checked everything, i did use a REAL adapter vice my ghetto jury rigged piece of crap adapter this time, so i switched back to my ghetto rig and it still doesn't work now! is it possible that a pin broke off or something? can some one send me a pic so i could do a sight comparison? or any other words o wisdom?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to dynamically swap in and out various layouts to one layout container. I've instantiated the container layout (mContainerLayout) by finding it using the id through the main Activity layout. This is successful. Next, I add the inner layout by calling:
layoutInflater = this.getLayoutInflater();
and then inflating the inner layout like this:
mInnerLayout = (LinearLayout) layoutInflater .inflate(R.layout.inner_layout, mContainerLayout);
This seems to work fine. I see the inner layout displayed in the Activity that holds the containing layout. Next, I want to swap in another inner layout, so I call: mContainerLayout.removeAllViews();and then I repeat the steps above. This is successful as well. The problem is when I try to swap in and out the instantiated layouts (the one that's returned from the inflate() call). When I call: mContainerLayout.removeAllViews();and then call: mContainerLayout.addView(mInnerLayout ); get a 'source not found' error. My question is: how can I swap the Layouts that have already been instantiated?

1. Don't alter the ICS dock icon size, or that have an option to resize the dock icons?
2. That support swipe gesture in the dock? (Swipe upwards to open shortcut)
3. Where it is easy to swap icons?
Which Launcher can do this?
Any other droid lovers thinking about swapping to htc incredible? My wife is due for upgrade and want's driod. I can give her mine and get incredible end of month or get 2 droids.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe camera on my Legend is faulty and I've finally got Vodafone to send me a replacement, but I'm worried that I'm going to lose all of my personalization etc and have to spend hours getting the new phone to the way I've got my current one. I'm not too bothered about background, widgets etc, but I was wondering if anyone could give me advice as to how to get as much info from the old handset to the new - particularly the contacts that I want who are linked through Google and Facebook, and the apps I've downloaded.I've tried syncing with HTC Sync but, to be honest, am finding it confusing; I can't see what I've synced so am not sure if there was any point in doing that. View 3 Replies View RelatedI plugged in my HTC Inspire 4G, and tried to copy everything on the card to a temporary folder, which I will then copy back to my new SD card. But the weird thing is Windows says the total size of all files and folders I copied is 1.85GB, but when I right click->Properties on the Removable Disc, it says the card has 1.94GB used. So there's about 90MB of something that's on the card but Windows can't see or copy. I'm concerned there's something hidden there that will cause problems if my phone can't find it on the new card. Any way I can make sure everything is copied over?

1) It doesn't support swapping
2)It doesn't support overclocking
3)I can't install "wifi kill" on it because its android version is 2.3.6

So recently I got lack of internal memory(it is only 512MB though) and I tried to swap internal memory with microSD(marked as sdcard2). However, Im noob in this and after changing the lines I understood, that I changed sdcard with sdcard2(swapped sdcard and sdcard2), however, my android system seems to be not working now. I can boot and access settings, but thats all. No menu, no apps, no anything. Empty screen, only settings accessible. I cannot access any files or anything...
What I tried:
- Connecting phone to PC as I have Android Commander program which can browse system files from pc, unfortunately, failed to connect.
- Factory reset. Didnt work.
- Recovery mode - tried all options that are available, didnt work.
The phone is Prestigio Multiphone PAP4300 DUO. When I boot to the phone, I unlock it and I get many messages saying com.android.phone, system and such things stopped working. When pressing HOME button, it goes to home, but its empty(empty screen) and tells Launcher stopped working too. All I can do is access the settings. Cant call anyone though.
What to say to warranty service when I will bring the phone to them. Can they recognize that its rooted/that the vold.fstab file is modified?

That looks to be white, but mine is black. I rooted it only. Havent done any changes to the phone until yesterday - swap the memories.
This phone of mine is in Android Gingerbread 2.3.6. The phone is already rooted but without CWM.

I need to root it but when i go to boot menu i don't found anything except test options and i don't have a driver for it so i can't root it using any app. I always read about that trying to root it because it's internal memory 256. I want to swap it with external but I hear that i need root.
I love the Incredible, but I'm afraid that the Evo is taking all of our developers. Do you think that we are going to turn into the Sprint Hero with no ROMs, etc.

The MediaPlayer.create(Context context, int resid) method is used to create and return a mediaPlayer object to play this track. What I have noticed is that when the activity is obscured by another activity and hence the "onStop()" method is called , the music continues to play. Can anyone explain why this occurs? I though that onStop would essentially freeze any actions taking place by objects associated with the activity, except for services etc

I did a FDR Tuesday night and through most of the day Thursday it was much better. Thursday evening i started reinstalling apps to test if it was actually better and noticed as soon as i did that the phone was never sleeping again. My up time and awake time were almost the same as soon as i reinstalled everything. So last night I uninstalled everything again except for swype. I'm going to watch it today but I'm not sure what to expect. Have you seen swype affect your battery life.
