Mar 5, 2010So I know it's possible to install the 2.1 genie weather app and the Nexus gallery app on Eris 2.1. But is it possible to install the Nexus launcher on Eris 2.1? I'm not talking about some janky imitation that sort of looks like it, I mean the real thing. I'm talking about this:

Anyway, I uninstalled it and now HTC sense is force closing all the time and I am unable to get to the app settings to see what the problem is. get me to a place where I can sort this out. Aug 22, 2010I installed launcher pro on my vibrant and I love pretty much everything about it. but I lost my feeds and updates screen on one of my home screens that displayed stuff from facebook and such. Apr 10, 2010helix launcher 2 now works on android 2.1. Do not buy clockworkmod launcher. The link is Donators' Repo Home.
Step 1:EDIT EDIT EDIT Click the download link and rename .php to .apk.
Step 2 Download the beta on your phone.
Step 3: Go into astro and find the download in your downloads file. Step 4: install and whalah.
It wont let you install it directly from the downloads page for some reason. Dont set as default your first time incase of FC loop.
Motorola Droid :: FC On Helix Launcher
Apr 25, 2010I have helix launcher(the first one) and I wanted to get 5 screens instead of three so I went to configure it and took off all my widgets like it told me to do. It restarted and I got a FC notification. It's set as my primary home and I can't get the message to stop popping up. I tried restrting my phone several times but before I can press the home button or any button the message pops up again and there is nothing I can do. Is there anything I can do to get past this FC notification?

Jul 6, 2010I have been having troubles keeping my launcher (tested both ADW and LP) open in the background while doing most things. Sometimes it will stay open while I switch through a couple apps, but a lot of times I will literally hit the Engadget widget to read one article, 20 seconds later hit home and it will redraw the whole desktop and I wont be able to do anything for 5-10 seconds. It does this a lot. I very rarely have FC's with an error message, probly gotten 1-2 in the past 5 days I have been on this ROM, but it seems like the system has just killed the launcher and it has to reload everything, almost everytime I hit the home button.
There is some general info, here are my questions:
1. Does this happen to everyone and I just need to deal with it or use stock launcher2?
2. I have messed with the memory settings and tried many different combinations, is there one people have found works well with the Droid? Does this make a big difference?
3. Does using the market version of these launchers (which I am) matter? Would it be better to install them some other way, push them somewheres with ADB?
4. Is this a purely memory based issue? I was letting the BB task manager do it's job, problem was happening, then tried Advan. Task Killer with auto-kill on and off, problem still happened.

"If you DO use another launcher, use my tools to DELETE the stock Launcher2 (it will back up to SD). Otherwise, it will still take resources even though you don't run it."
That being said, how do I delete the stock launcher on CM RC3? Root Explorer?

Oct 2, 2010I like the stock launcher the best, along with the Motorola widgets. Well actually, I just need the quick tasks for contacts, which is why I want the widgets. When I apply themes, is there any way to keep the stock launcher instead of the preinstalled ADW or LP? And if so, will this allow me to use the Moto widgets? Jun 6, 2010i recently flashed the 2.2 MDW ROM and everything went well for like the first 30 minutes. So i was restoring my applications and such and on the first attempt i restored some things using My backup pro and as soon as I restored my data when i tried going to my home screen the launcher would constantly force close. So of course i couldnt accomplish anything while this was happening so i had to nandroid and start over. On the second attempt i tried NOT using My backup pro thinking that that was the issue but then yet again my launcher started force closing. Now i really want to go to 2.2 but obviously i cant because of the launcher force closing.

I tried home switcher, also tried clear home defaults too, nothing has been working. I went into manage apps and neither 1 is set as a default, so I cant clear the default. I tried a force stop on launcher pro but that didn't work either. I don't wanna un install launcher pro bc I have it set up nicely, I just want to set up the stock home for fun and giggles.

And I uninstalled my stock version of LP so I could install the new version...only problem is I already un installed the ADW that came with RubiX...now I have no home launcher and can't access my app drawer to get into Astro to install the new LP. After downloading it and installing I was able to double tap my home button and Launcher Pro then replaced Blur but I could never find the screen to change any of the options for Launcher Pro.I then read that Home Switcher needed to be installed and was about to download it when the first line of text for Home Switcher in the Market is that it's not supported for Froyo 2.2.Does anyone know of another program that I can use in order to get Launcher Pro to work correctly on my D2 and also be able to view the programs options/settings page?

Oct 9, 2010I've been using ADW because I like the easy cookie cutter themes but I notice it lags sometimes when switching between screens and sometimes icons and widgets will disappear then reappear as the screens load. I tried the free version of Launcher Pro and as I was setting up the screens it felt like it was smoother. But that could have been because I didn't have anything on them yet. I know most people here use Launcher Pro - is it because it is faster or smoother? I can almost get away with using the free version but I need to be able to resize widgets.
