I just got my droid in the mail today, and I activated it about 20 minutes ago. Now I have the update notification and it is updating as we speak. It is just sitting at the screen with the caution triangle. How long does it take to finish? I am just curious.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI wanna start out by saying I love my droid but on thing that bugs the crap out of me is the finish on the top of the thing. It looks nice and polished for a few weeks but then it starts to chip like crazy. The screen is holding up perfectly its just the corners of the bezel. I think they should have gone wth a matte or aluminum finish or even the soft finish like on the battery cover.

I found an app that shows constellations instead but I wonder if this is something I can just do myself? And why are there adverts, it doesn't really bother me but I didn't get some special deal on the phone so why should I be forced to see the Advertising? Oh I just had a thought - is this a result of using google voice?

I've had this issue since the 2.2 leaks (2.2.9-2.3.15 and now with RubiX) and have finally gotten tired of it. When downloading apps or updates from the market, 1/2 the time it'll finish downloading but then won't install. It just hangs there at 100% and nothing happens no matter how long I leave it there. I have to cancel download and then re-download, sometimes multiple times, before it'll install it automatically. This happens with every app, and while I do eventually get everything install, it will still very annoying. Does anyone else have this issue?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am running a droid x currently unrooted (but have been rooted since 2.1).
I have rooted every install of 2.2 except for my current one (for testing purposes).
The problem is that every two or so weeks ever since installing the 2.2 OTA I have to do a factory reset in order for my 3G internet to work on the phone.
Let me explain the symptoms. Randomly the phone will refuse to finish loading webpages or market items over 3G. Sometimes after waiting a real long time or clicking a lot it will load the pages... but sometimes it will not. The internet still functions fine on the phone over wifi connection, and here's the real surprise: I can tether my laptop via both wireless tether and barnacle I get full speed on the computer even though on the phone it won't load. It always ends up taking a factory reset before it will work again.
I have 3G and my signal bars are fine.
I have been trying to figure this out for weeks. Here are the things I've tried so far:
-Cycle phone off and on multiple times.
-Cycle wifi and airplane mode multiple times.
-Multiple battery pulls.
-Clear cache and force close every application and service known to man.
-Uninstall various applications to see if they are causing problems.
-Remove SU privileges from different/all root apps.
-Try different browsers.
-*228 both options 1 and 2
-Repair privileges.
I have done a facory reset with froyo 4 times now. Each time within 2-12 days the problem returns and I can't fix it without a reset. The last three times I've reset I have gone through the whole process skipping every option to install accounts etc. as recommended to many guides.
Just a question about charging this phone, do you guys see that it takes longer to charge this through the PC rather than the wall? Also about how long should it take for a full charge? Lastly is there harm to overcharging the battery?

So far I love it!Anyway, the guy told me to charge the phone all night long.I played with the phone this afternoon and the battery completely died at about 7pm. I plugged it in and checked it at 10pm and it was at 100%. Should I keep it plugged in all night long? The paperwork doesn't say to keep it charging after it's reached 100%.

One of the people who posted a comment in it claims that by long pressing on their volume rockers, will skip tracks. Does anyone here know if this is true? Apparently it only works with 2.1 and if this is the case, which I can't do cause I am running BB v1 but i am confused cause its in 2.1 even though I rooted under 2.0.1. Can anyone confirm this?
