Is there to set the homepage to load as the bookmarks? I liked this option on the original Droid but don't see the option on the X?

Possible to lock down shortcuts on the 3 home pages? I seem to always loose them or move them or delete them by accident with my fingers while navigating around.

I forced 2.2 onto my droid. Now I'm reading all this talk about OTA's and random updates. How do i get the official OTA? Do I need to revert to 2.1?

Go into recovery (like you did to apply the update.zip). Wipe your cache. Perform a factory reset/date wipe or whatever it's called from within recovery. You _should_ (again I take no responsibility here) boot into 2.1 where you can root and then apply 2.2 update again. Good luck, and let us know if it does/doesn't work.
To revert to 2.1:
1: Flash sbf. After this, you will bootloop.
2: Get into recovery like you did when you updated to 2.2.
3: Wipe cache.
4. Factory reset.
When you reboot you should be at stock 2.1. This would be useful if you needed to return the phone for warranty services, or if you need to reinstall 2.2 for some reason (like to gain root).

I know I procrastinated, but I installed the leaked 2.2 months back, and never reverted back to stock, to get the OTA 2.2 Verizon sent out. Is it too late? If I revert back to stock, will I still be able to download the official OTA 2.2? Is there any difference over the one I have?

For the Droid X i want to try to use the froyo update that was leaked before however, I am worried about as to whether or not I can flash back to the stock OS. I see how to do it for other phones and know how to do it for the original droid with much help however, I do not want to do the update until I know there is a way to revert back to 2.1 Also I am using the leaked NON ROOTED 2.2 update if I get an answer on here. I do not like to root only because I am a noob.

So, the big question is: Has anyone been able to pull today's OTA with their leaked 2.2. Do I really need to revert back to 2.1? I downloaded the first 2.2 leak from P3Droid.

This is what I'm dealing with. I Used astro to get my droid into the 2.2 FRG01B but I'm NOT rooted from stocked 2.1 just like in the Guide but i didn't Backup any files or i don't have SPRecovery, or anything like that. My recover screen reads as follow;
1:Reboot
2:apply update.zip (which is what i did the first time to get to 2.2)
3:wipe date/Factory reset
4:Wipe Cache partition
5:wipe baseband data
As you can see i don't have install or anything of that nature. Now my question is, is there a way to get me back to 2.1 Stocked like when i got it or am i pretty much screwed with what i've done? If i haven't totally messed up can somebody provide a step by step so i don't mess anything up further.

I have a quick question. My Droid screen is nonresponsive on the right side and also it will not allow me to slide it open to receive a call. According to several posts on this forum, the phone will most likely need to be replaced. My question is, since it is rooted, do I need to revert it back to stock before taking it to the Verizon store or will they know anyway? I do not want to waste my time reverting it back if they are going to know anyway that it is rooted. I know the warranty is voided since it is a rooted phone. Thank you for any advice that you may be able to give.

I was on my homepage when a prompt popped up. Before reading it I had selected the choice to make it my default homepage. Now the only things showing is the Google search prompt and s pull tab on the bottom of my screen to display my apps. I have tried to change scenes but it doesn't work!

I don't need to do it right now, but in case I have to send it back, I'd like just ONE forum that gives simple instructions on how to unroot and revert the HTC Droid Eris back to stock 1.5. Seems like every forum I find is either 9,000 posts of people talking about completely unrelated subjects or is for the Moto Droid. I would think there would be a program out there that would do this automatically by now.

I am new to the android world and have been learning alot from these forums. It seems there is an answer I can not find. I have a Standard 2.1 w/root and recently updated my PRL (I believe that is what is called) But it seems my reception has gotten worse. My wife having an Eris as well did not update and gets amazing reception. Is there a way to revert or fix this?

I've got the new 2.2 firmware and I hate the look of the revised clock app. Is there any way to re-download the media dock clock app from 2.1? The red/blue wavy colored backgrounds and the reflected numbers of the clock at the bottom used to look awesome - like a fancy alarm clock, but now with the wallpaper showing through it just looks like a widget overlaid over my normal phone apps. Not to mention I can't find a way to disable to screen saver and have to tap the screen every time I want to check the weather. Makes we wish I hadn't paid for the dock at all now.

I created a backup while following rooting instructions for mac (http://androidforums.com/htc-droid-eris/125436-detailed-leak-root-tutorial.html) so I figure I should be able to revert the phone back to its original state. How do I do this?

Like many things in Android, you wouldn't think this would be such a hard problem but ohhh, by golly, would you be wrong. And, like many things in Android, the API doesn't even provide a reasonably extensible starting point. I'll be damned if I'm going to roll my own ListView, when all I want is to take the thing and turn it on its side. ant Okay, now that I'm done fuming, let's talk about the problem itself. What I need is basically something exactly like the Gallery, but without the center-locking feature. I don't really need ListView's listSelector but it's a nice-to-have. Mostly, I could do what I want with a LinearLayout inside a ScrollView, but I need the child views to come from a ListAdapter and I would really like to have a view recycler. And I really don't want to write any layout code. I peeked into the source code for some of these classes...

Is it just me or is the qwerty Keyboard, going from vertical to horizontal is very very slow. I'm like sitting there waiting forever for it to change, and by that time i forgot what i was going to write.
is there a fix or for that matter a quick button you can press to switch it?
