My Gmail acct got important excel doc. Can't download/only preview.
I recently recieve my first email with an attachment on my Eris. It was a PDF file, I was able to open and view it. I cannot find a way to save it. Do I have to archive the email and go about getting it that way every time?

The more I use this phone the more I feel helpless using gmail.
You can't search all gmail accounts at once...etc...etc.
You have to so many gmail limitation, I can't believe how much better my Blackberry took care of gmail.

View 2 Replies View RelatedCouldn't find this info...where are OTA files stored on the phone/SD card when they are downloaded? I have D2 and we may be expecting an update, and I'd like to be able to grab the file after the download. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have downloaded a picture attachment from my Gmail that is an 'unwanted picture' which I opened when I went to Gallery/Download folder. It is currently the default preview picture now for the Download folder. I've already deleted this picture from the Download folder, but anytime I download a new picture attachment, it still uses the 'unwanted' pic as the folder preview.I've even tried manually deleting the Download folder using AstroFile Manager.Everything I've tried doesn't seem to work.I desperately need help because currently I'm not able to download any picture from my Gmail account without that stupid picture showing up as the preview for the Download folder.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOur application displays a camera preview and it seems to work fine on all phones except for the Motorola Droid where we get a runtime exception when we set the camera parameters:
CODE:.........
Here is the code for surfaceChanged() which is mostly taken from APIDemos

Does anyone know what is wrong with how we are setting the parameters that would be causing the exception on the Motorola Droid?
File is present in sdcard/image.jpg I would like to create my own application (activity). On a button press, the image stored in the sdcard needs to be displayed using the built-in image viewer. On pressing the back button from the Image viewer, it should go back to my running application.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe learning curve is a little steep, but once you learn it ... it is THEE home-replacement app. Checkout the other Sweeter Home threads with pics to see what we're doing with this newly-released home-replacement app But I digress. As I have experimented with MANY apps, and home-replacement apps ... I am constantly watching how much available memory I have remaining. I open Task Killer many times throughout the day to check this. For the record, I have approx. 140 apps installed at this time. This hasn't changed all that much over the passed few weeks. I usually have between 38-52M available memory. I really haven't seen it above the 52M mark in a long time. But late last night, I finally finished enough of Sweeter Home to switch over to it full time. When I opened Task Killer, I couldn't believe what I saw! I had 68M available memory! I've been watching it all morning, and it seems to vary between the mid 50s, to the low 70s. So it appears that Sweeter Home Preview 2 is somehow using approx. 20M less memory than Launcher, Home, or Home++ Beta.
View 7 Replies View RelatedRunning perfectly. Very fast, responsive and smooth. I would suggest, however, to make the stock "Home" app your default desktop app the first time you boot up the new 2.1 update. Then you can test your theme in SH to make sure that it's all good. 2.1 has the Live Wallpapers (which seems very smooth, btw), but SH does NOT support them yet.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI saw somewhere in a video that when you are switching windows you could see a preview of the website (like the iphone, or in my case the ipod touch). I was wondering if there was an option to enable that compared to just the name of the site and address. Figured it makes life a little easier and looks prettier!
View 3 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone elses keys (keyboard, home button, menu, etc) not light up sometimes? For me the problem would fix itself after opening and closing the hard keyboard a couple of times. But after I downloaded SweeterHome preview 2 they won't light up at all. Is there a timeout option im missing or something? Or is this a common problem with no fix?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am seeing a very annoying behavior on Motorola Droid when trying to do a simple camera preview at QCIF resolution. And I was wondering if someone experienced something similar. Is there a workaround? Am I doing something wrong?
Let me explain the situation.
Firstly, right after boot-up, using native camera application there is nothing out of ordinary, I see preview each time and it is all perfectly well for as long as needed as many times as I want.
The "interesting" behavior starts when I use the slightly modified API Demos (full app available in Android SDK, modified file is attached). My goal is to preview (and later capture) video at QCIF (176 x 144) resolution.
Using CameraPreview module in API Demos application I can start preview and capture normally only the first time - picture is clear, focused, normal colors, etc. Preview and all is nice. The second time I do preview I see a very over-exposed picture, I need to turn it away from any light source to see anything, otherwise it is all white. And even in the shadow, everything is grainy, as if picture is taken with too sensitive settings (high ISO) with too long exposure. The third time, it is the opposite - the preview and capture is way too dark. I need to point the camera directly into the light source to see even a faintest picture. Pointing out of the window does not help, it has to be straight into the lamp or sun. The effect is like taking pictures with much too low ISO setting - it is way too underexposed.
The overexposed and underexposed sessions interchange, but it is not clear-cut which one appears first. So far the prevailing pattern is that overexposed one starts first. Now surprise comes when I try using native camera application. The pattern continues! It is as if hardware or or software (camera process) got "tainted" with the QCIF. This continues until I reboot the device.
Another interesting point is that if I allow device to "rest", symptoms are much less pronounced after 10 minutes, then in 15 minutes they become barely visible. However, it all comes back after the first time I capture in QCIF. Nothing like this is visible when resolution is higher, say, CIF, VGA or similar. The problem is that, for my purposes I need it to be QCIF.

How to download an xml file from url connection in android?
View 13 Replies View RelatedIn my app, I have to present a few numbers from a .csv file that's accessible from the web. Now, this .csv is quite big. I don't want to download and process the whole thing, there's no point. My numbers are always in the beginning of the file, in well specified positions - lets say position 5 to 10.
Could you give me some tips on how to implement this? I know how to download the whole thing, but don't know how to download only a part of it.
I am trying to download mp3 files from my file server onto my Droid. Everytime I try to download a song I get the error message Download Unsuccessful. I thought it was a problem with my server but all of my computers can download from it, and I just went and got my mom's Droid ERIS to test. It could successfully download mp3 files from the server. This is ridiculous, why wouldn't my Droid be able to download these files but the ERIS can? Is this a case of Droid DOESN'T?

This is my first post on here - I tried looking for an existing thread that might answer my question, but couldn't find one.Although generally happy with my HTC Hero, one problem I'm having is that I can't seem to email photos.Say I'm looking through my photos and want to email one, I press 'Menu', then 'Share', then 'Google Mail' then enter the email address and then press 'send'. It then says 'Sending message', albeit only briefly. (I would've thought it would take longer to email a 5MB photo and that the 'Sending message' notification would stay up for as long as the email was in the process of being sent.) But there's no indication of whether the email has arrived or not. Well, it hasn't. I've tried different photos, different email addresses. but none of the photos emailed using the 'share' funtion have arrived with the intended recipient.Same with the Sticky Note app. There's an option to email the sticky note, but despite numerous attempts, none of them have arrived at the recipient's email address.

1. If I get a phone number sent via a text or email and it has a space in it, I cant select it to dial.
2. I get emails from people that use Infopath but not all the fields show up. I have searched the web for apps etc. but cannot find much help. Is this an Android issue? Any help would preserve my sanity.
I select share via email, it sends, the photo attachment in the subsequent email loads from the top and quits at some point.Usually happens while at events where cell service is congested.
