Motorola Droid :: Get Bootloader Screen / "SE Flash OMAP3430 MI"

Jun 22, 2010

This so frustrating. I am trying to root my droid that is currently running the 2.1 firmware. I have researched and it seems that the only way to do so is go back to the 2.0.1 firm. So, I download RSD 4.6, the 32-bit 4.2 usb driver zip, the vzw sbf file, and the apk file. Proceed with everything as instructed and the start button on the RSD Lite stays greyed out. I believe because I do not have the "SE Flash OMAP3430 MI" driver on my PC. Does anyone know how I can get past this? Does this "SE Flash OMAP3430 MI" exist somewhere that I can retrieve it? Is there an easier weay to root or change my 2.1 to froyo 2.2?

Motorola Droid X : 2.1 To 2.2 Leaked / OTA No Bootloader Flash

Sep 23, 2010

So I have a rooted Droid X running official 2.1. I want 2.2 but I want to keep my original bootloader. Is there an update.zip that can take me to the OTA or the leaked OTA without messing with my booloader or recovery? I would also not like to wipe my data ether.

Motorola Droid : Flash SBF Files - 2.0.1 Stock That Replace Bootloader?

Jun 9, 2010

I know I've been posting lots of noob questions today, but I am a noob to rooting and I'm trying to get everything straightened out.

When I flash an sbf file, particularly the one that returns to 2.0.1 stock, does that replace 1) the kernel, 2) bootloader, 3)baseband, and anything else I can't think of? lol

I just like to have a backup plan incase something goes terribly wrong and I'm hoping that the .sbf file will replace every single component on my droid so I can start fresh if need be.

General :: Root Without Bootloader Flash?

Jul 28, 2012

Now that the mempodroid hack based on the memory leak discovered by Aedla has been blocked (since about kernel 2.6.42, and android 4.0.3), are there any remaining ways of getting root access without re-flashing the bootloader? Alternatively, any pointers to how I would find (or build) a bootloader for a tablet based on rockchip RK29 board (for which I'm unlikely to be able to get detailed documentation)? Or is there any way to downgrade the kernel without root access?

General :: S3 - Possibly Tried To Flash ROM Without Bootloader?

Mar 6, 2013

I rooted my S3 a few months ago based on some detailed instructions found online - no issues. The method used involved clockwork mod or some such.I was following these URL....

instructions to attempt to install liquid smooth (URL...) ROM. I had backed up everything on titanium backup and using the back up in ROM manager. In step 3.1, "flash a recovery image," I didn't think I needed to do this, as I thought it was a part of ROM manager.I proceeded onward, and after the phone finished making a back up, immediately after it started to install the new ROM, the screen went black (I assume the phone turned off).

I'm currently unable to get it to turn on at all, taking the battery out didn't do anything, and when I plug it into the comp via USB, it doesn't seem to recognize the device.I'm a broke med student on loans, and a new phone is going to hurt the bank account a lot.

General :: Can Recovery Flash Bootloader?

Jan 28, 2014

1. Can recovery flash bootloader?

From this link====>[URL] ....., I think it can do that. But I'm not sure.

2. Can recovery flash recovery partition itself?

I think it can not do this. Not confirm that.

3. We know in update.zip, boot.img is corresponding boot partition, but why system is a folder, not system.img? There is a system partition also.

4. While OTA upgrade system, why the update package downloaded under /cache path? Can we change it to sdcard?

5. Most important, what exactly update-script do things under recovery mode? How the command executed?

BTW, there are other questions, but not related to Recovery Mode.

1. How can I see the flash partitions? I know to use the command cat /proc/mtd, but as Samsung, it use emmc flash, while I type that command, no results printed. How to see?

2. About userdata partition, we know that when first run android OS, system will copy files from /system to /data, but does it do it every time that we turn on the phone or just do it once after the first booting after we update our system?

General :: Flash New Bootloader Through CWM / TWRP Recovery?

Feb 5, 2014

I have an AT&T SGS4 with a melted USB port so there is no way for me to use fastboot or Odin to flash bootloaders, etc. Is it possible to flash a Samsung factory bootloader through recovery?

What I am trying to accomplish:

I am on Touchwiz 4.3 and the 4.4.2 KK release was leaked in our forum. I used the dsixda kitchen to break it down and made a ROM out of it that successfully flashed in recovery but kernel panics at the AT&T splash boot screen because the RAMdisk doesn't match the bootloader version. So I need to upgrade the bootloader to the 4.4.2 version so it will boot.

I unpacked the RAMdisk and there is nothing in any of the init.xx files that points to the bootloader. I even used a hex editor to look at the init binary which references the bootloader but there was nothing in there that I could change (from what I saw).

General :: Can't Flash Kernel / Unlocking Bootloader - Xperia X10 Mini (E10a)

Feb 7, 2012

My android is rooted and sim-unlocked by Omnius.

I manually installed ClockworkMod Recovery. (to do this I had to remount the /system folder as rw, don't know if this is important, but wasn't in the installation instructions).

PC companion says my firmware is the lastest

I want flash this kernel. I think I can't unlock my bootloader...

I followed this guide to unlock the bootloader, using FlashTool or msm7227_omniusSL.cmd. Both processes complete without errors... But when I check with s1tool, the erom version has an uppercase "R".

When I try to flash, FlashTool throws the error:

Code:
06/056/2012 20:56:22 - ERROR - ERR_SEVERITY="MAJOR";ERR_CLASS="SECURITY_CLASS";ERR_DYNAMIC="SIN header verification failed"

Here are my s1tool and FlashTool logs:
s1tool:

Code:
Welcome to S1 identify tool

[Code] .......

Both BL unlocking methods were repeted several times, with equal logs...

General :: HUAWEI Ascend Y300 - Flash Recovery With Locked Bootloader

May 29, 2013

Are there other ways to flash a recovery with a locked bootloader?

My Problems:

I can't flash my stock recovery through fastboot with a locked bootloader.
I can't boot into my recovery because my current recovery is TWRP 2.5.0.1 and I have a locked bootloader.
I can't unlock my bootloader because I have used an IMEI Hack Tool and set my IMEI to 0 (I guess).
I can't boot into my ROM because I used an IMEI Hack Tool.
I can't Force Upgrade too (Vol Up + Down + Power). It only shows a pink/purple screen.

Solutions:

I can only flash a recovery with an unlocked bootloader.
I can only boot into a recovery with an unlocked bootloader (except for stock).
I can only unlock bootloader if my IMEI has restored.
I can only restore my IMEI if I can boot into my ROM.
I can only boot into my ROM if I have a stock recovery.
I can only Force Upgrade if I have restored my IMEI.

If I could only restore my IMEI through fastboot,

Motorola Droid :: RSD And Rebooting Into Bootloader?

Jun 25, 2010

Trying to root my moto droid, following all instructions in the "The All-new Guide to All Things Root-related" thread. However it seems I've found myself a problem that isn't described anywhere i can find. Upon opening RSD and rebooting into the bootloader my computer (Windows XP pro 32 bit) says that its found new hardware: "SE Flash OMAP3430 MI". I've already installed the provided 32 bit drivers for my droid, but it seems the bootloader itself requires its own set of drivers. Tried showing the found new hardware wizard where the droid drivers where located, would not accept them. Also tried the search the internet option, again no luck. Something's clearly amiss...

Motorola Droid X :: Updating Bootloader And SBF To OTA?

Nov 10, 2010

So I hear there is a new SBF that works with the new bootloader?I have 2.3.15, but I never did the OTA update. What is the easiest way for me to get up to date with the new radio? Currently I have 30.01 bootloader.I read that I can use the FULL 2.2 SBF file to update the bootloader and the more importantly, the Radio. I am wondering however if I need to remove remove Bootstrap or Unroot first? I would imagine I do not, but you can never be too careful, there seems to be alot of misinformation, and I'm digging up posts where some people say the Full 2.2 SBF will not update the bootloader.

Motorola Droid X :: 2.2 SBF Bootloader Version

Oct 16, 2010

I just recently updated my phone to 2.2 using the new 2.2 SBF. My phone is running great now after fresh install. I thought the SBF would flash a new bootloader version like the OTA. I think the OTA is 30.03 that changed signatures preventing downgrading. Anyway after I flashed the new SBF I looked at the bootloader version and it was still 30.01. Dose anyone have any info on this?

Motorola Droid X :: SBF & Bootloader Versions?

Nov 30, 2010

When all of the leaks were kicking around, I installed the leaked 2.2. I used the 2.1 SBF to restore the phone a couple times during my playing around with various ROMs.When the full 2.2 SBF rolled around, I used that to upgrade to 2.2 rather than accepting the OTA, partly because it was easier to do that than it was to roll back the leaked 2.2, then accept the OTA. However, it looks like, during this process, my bootloader never changed. I'm still at 30.01. Intuitively, I guess this makes sense - you can't update the bootloader from within the bootloader. However, there have been a lot of questions surrounding the new 2.2.1, bricked phones, and bootloader versions. I know the theory is that it's just from wiping data but nonetheless, I'm wondering what my options are or if I need to worry about it at all? Can I SBF back to 2.1 and accept the OTA to get a recent bootloader, since I still have the 30.01 bootloader version? I guess there's little harm in trying since I could always SBF back to 2.2, but I'm just wondering if I'm asking for trouble.

Motorola Droid X :: Code Corrupt In Bootloader

Oct 8, 2010

I was following the instructions on "How to: Return DROID X Back to Android 2.1 to go from 2.2 leak, to stock 2.1 so I can get the OTA 2.2 update. I've never rooted and after RSD did several things, it gave an error something like "Error sending RAM download for bootloader..." (there was more to it than that, but I don't have it on my screen anymore). After trying several things, my phone now comes on to the bootloader, but says "Code Corrupt" then "Battery Low" and "Cannot Program" flash on individual lines below. I plugged it into an outlet for nearly two hours and I'm still getting the same thing.Anyone seen this if so how do I get beyond it? One thing I read said that he just checked "ODM_Serial" under Config>Flash/Flex options and started over and it worked. That would be great, but the computer won't recognize it as connected as long as it's doing what I described above.
