Any idea where to get a download of RSD Lite 4.6?
EVERY link i have found on here leads to NOTHING..
Need to unroot and i cant find it anywhere.. and 4.5.3 will not find my droid. (am using windows 7) not sure if that is a reason but the unroot guide on here calls for 4.6.

So I installed the update.zip without taking any steps to retain root, so of course now that 2.2 is installed I no longer have root. I did a cache wipe and data wipe, then setup RSD Lite to flash the 2.1 SBF onto my phone so I can follow the procedures to keep root while upgraded to 2.2.When I click start on RSD Lite, I am getting a failed flash process error.Does anybody have any suggestions for me? Also, the device properties are showing a lot of N/A in the place of version numbers, IMEI/ESN/MEID, etc.

It appears as if RSD Lite doesn't recognize that there is a phone attached.
How to get it to recognize my phone?
I am trying to root but rsd won't see my phone. After i select the file and push start nothing happens. Device box is empty and clicking find device does nothing.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have used RSD Lite before to re-root my phone after applying 2.1 so I am comfortable using it again. I was just wondering if there is an easier way to unroot my phone. I know all of you are saying why unroot? Well I really don't utilize the root at all anymore. I originally did it to change the status bar to black (this is prolly the only thing that I will miss), to be able to downloas Led Hack (I recently uninstalled it and it appears that the leds turn off now in 2.2, I dunno if that was fixed in 2.1), and for wireless and wired tether (pdanet works without rooting and I have never once used the wireless tether other than to they and see if it works. It seems that I have had more problems with rooting then when my phone was unrooted.
Yea my phone is faster now bc of OC but unrooted it wasn't that slow anyway and I don't know if anyone else is having this problem but I get email notifications all the time even when I do not have a new email and it is really bothering me. So after that rant I was just wondering if there was an easier way to unroot. I tried downloading the rom from rom manager verizon 2.0.1 stock without root odexed and it gave me some error when installing. So if I have to use RSD Lite I will I was jsut wondering if there was an easier way. Also since I will not be rooted anymore is there any other program out there that saves data other than TiBu? I take it I will not be able to restore data with TiBu being unrooted. Don't know if this matters with RSD Lite but right now I am on BB 0.4 using chevy 1g kernal with the most updated baseband of .01P

Stock, Dolphin HD, Opera and Skyfire all look a little sluggish compared xScope. Throughout most of the other threads suggesting apps and browsers I rarely saw this one get more than a cursory mention, so I thought it would be nice to point everyone towards another option. I'm currently using the lite version, but I'm more than likely going to pony up for the paid to help out the developer and unlock some features.

The problem is exactly as it sounds. I have my RSD up, it recognizes my phone, i have my SBF selected, but the start button is grayed out and I cant select it...
I'm un-rooting my phone using OMJ's guide in the everything root related guide, and I'm getting a "Failed Flashing Process" error in RSD Lite.
I am running as admin, I have the correct drivers (I recently rooted...), I have the sbf in C: .... yet it fails.
The error says " Failed Flashing Process. Failed Flashing Process. Interface BP: Error flashing subscriber unit. Device API Error: 0xE0030009 Command: ADDR (0xE0231009); phone connected"
I am going to try flashing SPRecovery to see if I can at least get to a working point.
SPRecovery worked. It boots into 2.1 and has SPRecovery as the recovery. I still want to get it to stock, so I am going to try and download the stock sbf again (it doesn't have a checksum so I have no way of knowing if it is good or not...) .... here goes nothing!
I just had this problem and I've seen other people having the same issue. I found the solution, at least for me, so I thought I'd share it. I was trying to flash the SPrecovery spf file using RSD Lite, but it would fail immediately. I found someone else on another forum who discovered that the file had to be in the root of his C: drive for this to work. I gave it a shot and it worked with no problems. This seems really strange. I think he was running Vista. I'm running Vista 64-bit. I was already running RSD Lite as administrator, so that alone didn't help. Moving the file to the root of C:
View 49 Replies View RelatedI flashed my phone to 2.0.1 b/c I thought I had to do that. Turns out I didn't, but there is outdated and updated information out there and I was misled. Anyway, 2.0.1 installed fine and it booted up, though my phone wasn't activated. Anyway, then I realized I needed SPRecovery, so I installed the sbf for that using RSD Lite. It installed successfully as far as i can tell? But it did a reboot, and now it's just stuck on the white-background Moto logo while plugged into my USB. RSD Lite says "Please manually power up this phone."

I am using my old verizon cell number and just using the google voice for the messaging function.
I just would want the google voice icon to light up and then i can go right to the program.

I thought it was a problem with my server but all of my computers can download from it, and I just went and got my mom's Droid ERIS to test. It could successfully download mp3 files from the server. This is ridiculous, why wouldn't my Droid be able to download these files but the ERIS can? Is this a case of Droid DOESN'T?

Ok! Just a little confused here. Does Swype Lite not work with 2.1 ver.2 leak. I've followed everyones instructions and can even go through the Swype tutorial but the choice of keyboards doesn't show up when I try to send a text or e-mail. All I get is the stock keyboard. Am I doing something seriously wrong here? This is somewhat fustrating because I prefer Swype by leaps and bounds. I'd buy it from the market but it's not available. I know some will send me to other posts with instructions, but I have tried them ALL. I just can't get it to work. Any suggestions?

I have downloaded lots of apps, but now there seems to be a problem. When I click to download, nothing happens, and then an orange triangle appears with the words "download was unsuccessful, please try again." I have tried all of the suggestions out there, removing and replacing the battery and SIM card, turning Wifi off and back on, logging out of Google Talk (although I seem to be automatically logged back in w/out doing anything), using 2G, 3G and Wifi.

I notice the first word in the web address is "secure", such as www.secure.anything.com. The same link opens flawlessly on a dinc, but won't open on an X. If you are coming from any ROM besides Fission then SBF before you install this.
If you are on Fission and did not SBF before you came to Fission then SBF too.
Do NOT clog thread with posts like "how can I find SBF" If you take 2 minutes to look around you will find it.
YOU WILL NEED TO DO THE COMPLETE INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS.
This ROM does NOT lose root. You must install root from market or check /sdcard/fission/addon for superuser.apk, bootstrap and terminal.
If you have the latest OTA update then I suggest you do not install this ROM in the case something goes wrong you will be stuck with a brick. You will not be able to SBF your phone YET. So the choice is up to you.
Fission 2.0.1 works on new and old kernel.
Fission 2.0.1 works on new baseband or old.
DO NOT INSTALL ANY THEMES FOR THIS ROM UNLESS THEY ARE MADE FOR FISSION 2.0. THAT EVEN INCLUDES THEMES FOR FISSION < 2.0. Almost all apps are different and are Android 2.2.1 versions.
Themers please get in touch with me before you release your themes. I would like to test them first because a couple of old ones caused problems and I will work with you to get them right. Fission will only support themes that are made for Fission.

Pre-Installation Tasks:
Tap "Bootstrap Recovery"
Tap "Allow" if asked to grant SU Persmission

You will be booted into Recovery
Use Volume up/down keys to navigate through menu. Press Camera button to Confirm selection. Power button to back up to last menu.
Create Backup - "backup and restore" then select what you want to do
Back out to main menu
Wipe Cache
Wipe Data
Mount System - Screen will read "UNMOUNT /SYSTEM" when mounted
Mount Data - Screen will read "UNMOUNT /DATA" when mounted
Back out to Manin Menu
Install Zip From SD Card
Choose Zip From SD Card
Select your ROM
Yes - Install
Wipe Cache
Wipe Data
Reboot
Back into Android
Perform a Factory Reset
Open App Draw
Tap Settings
Tap Privacy
Tap Factory Reset
Tap Reset Phone
Tap Erase Everything
Your phone will now be rebooted, perform factory reset and then reboot itself when completed.
Activate phone when prompted.

If I download the XM radio app to my droid, is there a fee for usage for that app? I noticed it was not in the market.
