Motorola Droid :: Constant Crashing - Kangerade With Chevy 1.2ghz

Jul 15, 2010

Buddy told me to put kangerade and chevy lv 1.2ghz on it. I'm not new to the root game and i've done it to a few eris phones. I got everything installed correctly two days ago but yesterday and today, the phone seems to soft boot every now and again for no particular reason. It doesn't go all the way to the mas a hard boot would, but it goes to the droid logo and reboots from there. I'm running the newest version of Kangerade with chevy 1.2ghz low voltage kernel.

Motorola Droid :: Kangerade 1.1 Maps - Data Connection Lost

Jun 30, 2010

So I recently rooted my phone and switched to the Kangerade 1.1 rom running a chevy kernel. I pretty much have no issues EXCEPT for the fact that maps wont function unless I am on wifi. Once I am using 3g I just get data connection lost, and then it loops....I am using version 4.3 of maps, my wife's phone is also rooted with kangerade using a p3 kernel but with maps 4.2 and she gets the same results.

Motorola Droid :: Upgrade Kangerade With Source System Applications Duplicate Issues

Jul 9, 2010

I am about to go from original kangerade to the newest kangerade with source. I have been through many roms, and i always wipe/data, etc. I also always backup all apps/ data/ system through titanium. I read something a while back in a post which i cannot find about not selecting the red colored items or maybe the green items?I think it may be the red because those are all system apps which will come in the new rom i am flashing. I noticed i had 2 copies of system apps like car home 2.2 and so on, i just wanna be sure before i flash a new rom again.

Motorola Droid :: Froyo Update - Battery Life

Aug 18, 2010

A few days ago I woke up really excited to get my Froyo update. The first day I had it I had an error that kept occurring because of the htc keyboard I had previously been using. After restoring the keyboard to stock that problem went away, but the biggest problem of all took the forefront. I can't go more than 5 hours without needing to charge my phone. Before the update I usually charged my phone daily because I am a relatively heavy user. After the update, I am not using my phone any more than before. Today I charged my phone 3 times. Some people have said it is the facebook app, but I uninstalled the latest updates. I have noticed many of my programs are opening up in the background on their own.

Motorola Droid : Change "green-on-gray" Notifications When Running Key Lime Kangerade

Jun 25, 2010

I've asked as few times in various threads how to change the "green-on-gray" notifications when running Key Lime Kangerade, but have gotten no responses. That means either other users of this themed ROM have better eyesight than me or never look at their notifications. Or perhaps I did something that royally screwed up my notifications and no one else is having this issue.

Regardless, this is my last ditch effort in looking for help for a fix. Spare Parts is a no go. Neither is any settings I can find on the phone as it currently exists. So what it comes down to is, where do I locate the notification files to make custom edits and how do I alter them?

I have my backups done in both Titanium and CW Recovery so I'm ready to spend my weekend hacking my ROM to make it just right. I'm trying not to think about the fact that it'll all change as soon as the new froyo release rolls out in the next few days...

Motorola Droid :: Battery Wipe (inconsistent Battery Drain)?

Nov 13, 2010

Rooted Droid 1, running LFY 1.9 with it's 1ghz kernel, SPRecovery. Had a weird issue recently; the phone displayed that my battery life was at 40%, then probably ~30 minutes later it was down to 20%. I wasn't using it during that time, I just unlocked the screen to check something. Anyway, I opened my browser and within a minute or two I got the "15% battery life remaining" message, prompting me to connect my charger. I decided I would allow the phone to just die and shut itself down. So I waited ~45 minutes and it went down to 10%, then almost immediately to 5%. I turned on the GPS just to make it drain faster... I watched a one-hour television show and when it was over, I glanced over to the phone to see if it had died - nope, still on. I turned the LED light on, leaving the GPS running for ~25 minutes and it finally powered down. Then I plugged it in to charge and left the room. Came back in about 2.5 hours later and picked up the phone - it was very hot. Unlocked the screen and checked SetCPU and it was running ~135?F but it immediately started cooling down. It was fully charged, however so I unplugged it. I went to bed shortly thereafter and the battery life displayed 90% as I set the alarm to wake me up the next morning. I happened to wake up shortly before the alarm was set to go off and I picked up the phone to disable the alarm and noticed the red 'charge me' light blinking - unlocked the screen to see 5% and just then it powered itself down.

TL;DR -- Phone only got hot that one time, phone hasn't gone dead in stand-by mode again like it did that night. Battery drains at a seemingly normal rate based on my regular use from 100% down to 40%, then it rapidly drains after that, always skipping 30% and when it gets down to 5% it stays alive for quite a long time under heavy load. Is there a way to 'teach' the phone how to check and calculate actual and remaining battery % and to display it correctly? Is it kernel-related? I heard somewhere about doing a 'battery wipe' but I am unsure what that entails and searches are proving fruitless for me so far.

Motorola Droid :: Battery Life - Or Battery Widget

Mar 16, 2010

Background info:

- I'm running the "Battery Left" widget and I have it displaying "estimated percentage left", "system percentage", and "estimated time left until dead".

- I listen to A LOT of Slacker Radio.

My issues:

- I was previously getting about 19+ hours out of a fully charged battery. 2-3 days ago I started having issues with the widget (I think it may have started when I installed an update to the widget) so I recalibrated it to no avail. Then I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Within a few hours it claimed that it was getting accurate readings (when I first installed the widget weeks ago, it took days to get accurate) and now says that I should be getting 9 hours out of a fully charged battery. I know that can't be right so I'll see how the widget adjusts itself over the next few days, but, any thoughts? (I know a lot of you guys use the same widget and know how it works...)

- Also, In the first two hours of my phone being unplugged this morning, it went from 100% to 70%. I did run Slacker for about an hour and a half of that time, but could it really drain the battery that much that quickly? And I noticed that when I close Slacker, if I go into phone settings, applications, running services - there's still a Slacker update thing running in there. Could that be draining the battery too, even if it's only checking for updates?

- I really don't run a lot of stuff on this phone. I keep wifi and gps turned off. I use bluetooth only a few hours each night. Minimal web browsing. Although, my POP email gets checked every 5 mins (but I just changed it to every 10) and I do use gchat and text a decent amount, but I'd say overall, it's "light" use (except for Slacker which could be a huge drain, right?)

I ran un revoked when I had 2.1. Did this break something? Is there another culprit? I went from being able to charge once a day to being forced to charge twice a day now.

Totally unacceptable! Is my only option to go to a custom ROM?

HTC EVO 4G :: Horrible Battery Life After Going To A Froyo Rom

Aug 26, 2010

Anyone else seeing worse battery life after going to froyo? I now get about 12 hours on limited use (a few texts and maybe a couple phone calls). Prior to the froyo rom (fresh 3.1.x), I was getting about 20+ hours on moderate use (also a fresh rom). I've made sure that google talk isn't running and the awake time isn't an issue. I currently have setcpu running without any profiles active and set it to conservative--no overclocking. My current setup is fresh 3.1.2 rom with Kingxkernel #3.

HTC Incredible :: Warmer Battery With Froyo?

Aug 31, 2010

Noticed last night that my battery temperature hit 40.2 degrees C...it's never been that high. it may be attributed to the fact that I was using it all night, but it only started getting warm right before i went to bed. i laid it down and put it to sleep, figuring it would cool off, and eventually it began to. So then, i started to charge it. at the early charging cycle, it dropped down to normal around 32 degrees while charging...then an hour later i wake up and check it, and it's back up to 40 something! i was like wtf! the rest of the morning it seemed to charge cool, but what could be making the battery so hot so randomly? i've never had it hit that high before and i don't want it to melt or anything lol

also, noticed charging takes MUCH longer now. started charging around 4am, woke up at 8 and it still wasn't at 100. usually used to take only 2 hours, now was taking 4. so when it hit 100, i took it off the charger to do my bump charge test....let it idle for 3 hours, and when i went back to it, it was at 90%, meaning i had to bump charge

HTC Desire :: Froyo And Battery Life ?

Aug 27, 2010

Here is just a quick photo of my desire just bordering on 2 days use which it did last to 2 Days and 2 Hours post photograph without charging:

This was based on medium to light usage I might add, phone calls, texts, market use, web browsing and around half an hour mp3 player usage. No gaming as I do find gaming using anything other than the "oid" range of emulators kills battery life fast. However heavy use generally nets me minimum 20 hours. Sorry about the dodgy picture, trying to get a decent close up shot using my N95 wasn't easy...

Motorola Droid X :: Battery Left Says 70 Percent Left But Battery Meter In Status Bar Showed Full

Battery Left was the first thing I installed on my phone when I got it. My battery life has been terrible so I've been trying to track down the problem. I woke up today, unplugged my phone and didn't touch it for an hour. Battery Left says I have 70 percent left but the battery meter in the status bar showed full. I uninstalled battery left and installed Battstatt and it shows 90 percent (2 hours later). Anyone else have problems with battery left? I hope this fixes my battery problem.
