Motorola Droid :: Flash / Froyo Sound Is Just A Little Off
Aug 4, 2010
How I love my Droid so much more now that I am using Froyo and Flash. I tried Froyo a few times in the past but always went back to 2.1 due to the fact I am addicted to World War. Now that the 2.2 OTA came out and went ahead and installed a Rooted 2.2 ROM and then installed Flash. Now I am able to stream video from mega video with almost no problems. They only problem I have is that the sound is just a little off. It's not to bad though. Anyhow back to watching The Big Bang Theory.

Anyone can link me to a Download of Flash for Froyo 2.2 FRF57, the newest Froyo ROM released? Actually, I'm using BuglessBeast V0.1 FRF57. Not sure if that matters. I've tried downloading one from droid-life but the APK wouldn't install. It said it couldn't open it as an APK file.

I use Slacker and Pandora every day in my car on the ride to and from work, via bluetooth.Every Froyo rom I've tried (CM 6 alpha, the straight FRF57, FRF84, etc) sounds terrible. Its like the highs and lows are WAY overboosted and distorted.Because this has been common to every rom I've tried to date, and it is always fixed by reverting to my rooted 2.1, I usually do that. But I'm tired of missing out on flash and chrome-to-phone. Is there a sound fix?

Sorry if this sounds a little noobish, but is it safe to run any of these new roms without the SBF of Froyo? What happens if you brick the phone while running 2.2 OTA trying to flash?

I still have not received the ota 2.2 update for my motorola droid. I used to have my droid rooted to droidmod I think, I started having some problems (this was months ago so I'm sure everything was fixed) and I unrooted and went back to stock 2.0.1 and then used the ota to update to 2.1. So I am waiting on froyo and I was just wondering if I update and don't like it will I be able to flash back to 2.0.1.

I have Bugless Beast 0.7 (2.1 build) and have downloaded the Flash 10.1 apk. Before I install it, I wanted to ask: Has anyone tried to run it on a non-Froyo base and if you did, did it work or did it hang up?

Is there a way to turn off the flash and/or the shutter sound of the camera when taking a picture?
Flash Mode says auto under it, but the box is grayed out and I cannot select it to change it.
This is the same for the auto focus feature, I am unable to select that as well.

As it may be a little while before Froyo is available for the Incredible I wonder if it might be possible to port Froyo's browser with flash support to Android 2.1. Ah the things you dream up when stuck at work doing data entry all day.

All the new features sites said Flash 10 was part of Driod 2.2. 2.2 was pushed to my phone overnight and I installed it. However when I go to the Adobe Flash showcase, it says I don't have flash installed. So I search the market place and do not see flash as a download. Is this just something that will come later? I really don't read up on Driod all the time so I don't know all the news, just a regular user.

I have gotten both the Flash Player and Flash Lite APK's, and I have been trying to install them on the Droid. Flash Player refuses to install on stock 2.1. Flash Lite installs, but after install I can not connect to the internet (Nothing connects, Skype, market, random app, browser.)
So I wanted to know if anyone wanted to do some testing with them, to see if you can get them running on the ROM you are running. Maybe we will be able to make fun of iDevices earlier, because Droid Does what iDont
Flash Lite: FlashLitePlugin.apk
Flash Player: FlashPlayer.apk

since I updated to 2.2 last night when I am on the phone I receive a text message and it plays my ringtone even while I'm on the phone. Before the update the notification would just pop out without any sound (which is fine and what I'd prefer). Has anyone noticed this, or is aware of a fix? All I can do at this point is make sure my phone is on vibrate before I'm on the phone. BTW the sound stops after I touch the notification like normal it's just annoying for it to play at all while on the phone.

I unlock my phone, I get a default notification sound. Sometimes, just randomly while messing with an app, I get the mystery notification sound. No emails, no texts, no notification bar items just <insert mystery notification sound here> somewhat randomly. It's not any app i recently downloaded either (=, I'm a bit more savy then that just want to see if someone else noticed this with the 2.2 OTA Leak.It doesn't do it while the screen is off

Such as text messages, and others? This was, and is a huge annoyance on 2.1 unless using a third party app, which I don't. Has Google fixed this in Froyo?

This only seems to have affected my EVO - after updating to 2.2, the sound quality through Pandora is very low, even with the "High quality" setting enabled. Before I updated, sound quality was at CD-like levels, even without the HQ option enabled!

Flash seems to be the biggest problem with the 2.2 HTC pre-release build. I've poked around with the problem for a few minutes and have yet to find a solution to getting 10.1 to work, however, you can get around the random crashes by starting your browser and immediately stopping whatever page is loading. Head into the settings and disable java script. This will enable you to still use your browser, just not any flash. Hopefully we'll get a solution shortly.

Just found this out over at the XDA forums, that to change the boot animation and sound, you go to /system/customize/resource/ and it's named VZW_boot animation.zip and for the sound it's named VZW_Droid.zip..

Just got my Froyo update today. After reviewing the changes vs various web articles and videos online about the changes, I am apparently missing some things. Examples: I didn't get Adobe Flash Player 10.1 and I can't find it in the market to D/L. My Camera does not have the new features.

I have a droid x n have been trying to get hulu to play since I got the phone. I was told that 2.2 would have flash 10.1 support. When I got the update july worked flawlessly. A few hours later every video gave me a "this video is unavailable, if u continue to receive this message clear ur cache" so I did n nothing changed. I went check my flash n the flash player had uninstalled itself. I reinstalled n applied the update n got the same result. I tried other flash sites n they r not working(only flash games work, no videos).
I brought my phone to Verizon n they gave me a replacement saying it should b able to play. The new phone is doing the same thing. Is this a skimmed down version of flash or is the flash support crazy? Y will this not play after hours of flawless performance? It also freezes the browser everytime, full episode or clip, any show. Is there a Divx web player yet? I know u can use ur pc as a server to stream them through, but can I pull up movies from icefilms.info or alluc.org directly through the browser?

I might have missed something, but how do we get flash working on the new 2.2 emulator? The sites I've tried don't work (eg BBC), and when trying to go to flash install site, i get rerouted to a market url for com.adobe.flashplayer (which obviously won't work on an emulator). So is flash being delivered as a market app? And if so how do we get it on an emulator.

Title pretty much sums up my question. I was wondering if there was any way to block flash ads with the default mobile browser? I know you can make them load on demand or, using Dolphin HQ, block some aspects of them using Ad block, but I was wondering if there was any way of blocking them outright. Please excuse me for not searching the forums very thoroughly before posting; the forum's search function isn't very mobile friendly.

So now that we have flash 10.1 I am wondering what websites you folks are utilizing to take full advantage of the update. I tried mlb.tv but everything comes in extremely choppy and tells me not optimized for mobile. I also went to comedy central.com but that is mostly short clips, So I was wondering if you guys had any sites that you could help the rest of us out with. (Also if someone knows a site to get It's always Sunny in Philly episodes it would be great).
The best site I know of is:
www.allsp.com (Southpark)
