There have been some complaints floating around that the Emergency Call on the lock screen is not working. You click it and the screen just goes blank, anybody else seeing this. They better fix this fast, or there could be a potential Lawsuit in the making.

Since the update, I don't have an emergency call button on my lock screen. I don't remember one being there before either. The manual talks about one being there, and I've seen posts about it. Is this an option to turn on?

I need to have emergency contact information on the lock screen. For example, if I were unconscious or just lost the phone, how would some Good Samaritian know who to contact? I cannot find anyplace to enter this type of information. Had this on my previous phones (Palm) and miss it!
I am going crazy here... I've had this thing since it launched and everything is great except I keep hitting buttons with my face during calls! I mute, sometimes end calls, start 3 way calls etc and I have no idea how to prevent it. Is there any way I can make the screen lock during phone calls or change the call screen altogether?

Before when in the middle of a call or to hang up a call i just pull the phone away from my head and the screen would come on... or, i would have to use the power up button on the top of the device then swipe to unlock. Now in the middle of a call the power button is not working nor does the screen illuminate when i pull away from my head.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMost people seem to want to be able to lock their screen while on a call (using bluetooth headsets mostly), and I'd prefer it didn't go to lock while on a call. I just find it annoying when I've been talking for a few seconds or minutes, then take the phone away from my head, having to wake up the screen by swiping my thumb across the light sensor, set the unlock pattern, hit the home button to leave the dialer app, find the app I need to look something up in while talking, etc. And sometimes it doesn't go to lock at all! Does anyone know why/when the screen goes to lock during a call only? The rest of the time, it takes the full 10 minutes I have it set for before dimming out and shutting down. But usually, during a call, it seems like only a few seconds.

View 45 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble with one thing on the Cliq - hanging up calls. Since the end call button is on the screen, 2 things keep happening:
- I hang up on someone by mistake, because my cheek touches the button while I'm talking
- By the time I am done talking, the screen has gone black, so I have to hit the menu button to turn the screen back on.. but that takes me back to the home screen, so I have to navigate through to get back to my call and hang up!
Is there some sort of setting or app that could change the end call button to a hard key, like the back button, so we can hang up that way? It would be a tremendous help!
I did quite a bit of searching the web for a solution to my problem with the HTC Incredible. Surely I cannot be the only one with the problem? I answer a call, I'm holding it talking, and the screen turns on then turns off, turns on, then turns off, speaker phone on, I have to click it off, mute on, I have to press it off. etc, I know its just the heat from my cheek from talking, but it goes right through the lock button. What is the point of locking the phone if on a call so this stuff wont happen when your touch (my cheek in this case) just goes right through the lock. I have tried in vain to find an app that could fix this perhaps, but most are just for answering the call or dialing a call, or something to that effect. Any info on how to keep the phone locked when I press the lock button would be appreciated. I love the phone but I am using another phone to make calls because I cant use the Incredible to talk. I don't feel I should have to keep turning off the mute or speaker phone or locking the phone to turn the screen off every two or three seconds.
View 3 Replies View RelatedDiscovered that the lock button on the side of the phone and the red end call button does not work...by themshelves! I have to push the home buttom and either one of the non-functioning buttons for it to work.
It's both a relief and pain to have figured this out. For the longest time, I thought the battery was horrid because when I would push the unlock button, the phone would not recognize it so the screen remains black making me think it off, out of battery. But then I noticed recently that the phone comes on when I hit the home button.
This is such a let down, you are never happy when your purchase breaks. Fortunitely I have the replacement insurance if it need be used. I was wondering if this is a known problem and can be fixed by me or if the phone need to be sent in for a replacement.
I have an HTC Evo that hangs up on everyone that calls me.I keep the phone in my pocket and, in trying to pull it out to answer a call, my leg slides the bar.I could keep the phone in my pocket upside down and then I would answer every call but that isn't much of an alternative.I am looking for something that overrides the Sense's lockscreen/answer screen.I tried both GoTo and WidgetLocker.Both are great programs but neither addresses the incoming call issue.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWith the old 1.6 software on my X10, the lack of an automatic screen lock when in an active call was mildly annoying, as not all areas of the screen were active. However, with the new 2.1, just about anywhere on the screen becomes active (especially when juggling two simultaneous calls). What are the chances that we'll see a 'lock screen' function for phone calls? Those of us who actually use the phone for phone calls whilst holding it would surely appreciate it. Other android devices have had this for years.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAnyone notice that the unlock/ lock button on top of the phone seems to go deeper in? meaning its not as tight/ it works still but doesn't seem the same as when i got it first? im afraid that it will stop working at one point. i am past the 30 day and would have to get a certified like new. i called tech support and they said they have no replacement phones in their warehouse currently and i would have to call back maybe tomorrow.

Im wondering if I'm the only one or am is it just my phone? I've noticed that this phone can be a bit buggy at times! Note: I have not had the update done on this phone. The only big recent app that I've installed is handcent.

Anytime I get in a call and hold the phone to my ear with my should, I start hitting buttons like Mute, Add Call, End Call, etc. I've already been through 3 replacement devices, and all 3 have the issue.
I learned last night (after fighting with a tech at version for 2 hours) that the issue is really just a design flaw by Motorola. If you make an out going call, and then cover the light sensor with your hand (while the phone is vertical), all works great. If you keep the sensor covered and start laying the phone on it's back, eventually the screen will unlock. Doesn't happen every time, only about 80% of the time.
Needless to say, Verzion told me that because that's how Motorola designed it I'm stuck having to deal with it. So now I'm trying to find an app that can lock my screen while I'm in a call. I have bought Screen Suite but it really does way too much for me (plus, I hate the lock screen on it). I much prefer the default lock screen.
Does an app exist that can launch the stock lock screen while in a call? If not does anyone know if the SDK even provides the means to launch the lock screen? Because if so I may have to resort to writing my own app for it.
Just hung up from a phone call, went to make another and nothing happening. phone was really slow, it re dialed previous call, then call i wanted to make and another call. Did a battery pull. Phone boots, but doesn't let me get to screen to unlock. Just loops by itself has dialer up , keeps trying to dial 8, gets error message, call not sent, 8 is not an emergency number. clicks ok by itself and trys again. I have wavesecure and lock code.Anyway possible to stop this and get in and break this up. I can't get to screen at all, i can't unpower it, if i try that it keeps doing this in airplane mode.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy wife brought up a good point the other day. In case of emergency, my phone couldn't be used to identify myself, or be used to contact her. This seems to be a major oversight on Googles part. When locked, all you can do is dial a number from the emergency screen. There is no option to call someone listed as an emergency contact. Leaving my phone unlocked is not an option.
