Dock for Moto Droid worked as advertised for a few hrs, then would go "dark" and touch buttons were flashing. Only thing that would stop the flashing was to press the power button. (but screen went blank again after hitting the return button)

When I put my DX in the multimedia (desk) docking station, the main screen (with the large digital clock numbers) goes dark. if i tap it to go to another screen, it brightens up and looks fine, but when I hit the Home button, it goes back to the clock and darkens.
View 7 Replies View RelatedA girl at work spilled her drink of water by my phone and of course it got wet. I did the whole sit in rice for 3 days and hit it with a lite blow drying. After I turned it back on everything works perfect (can text and receive calls, ect) except the screen is so dark I can only see it (hologram type effect) in super bright light and tilted at an angel. And even then its barley visible. To my surprise yesterday the screen lit right up back to normal and I almost died, but by that night its back to dark. I have no insurance and have about 8 months left on my contract. I talked to some verizon people and the best scenarios for me would to be A) Buy another Droid X from like craigslist and switch everything over. Cheapest I seen in my area is $375 or B) Ad a line and get a new Droid X w/2 year contract for $200 and switch the info over and pay the data fee on the old one I cant use I'm not asking so much for help on those options, but more if anyone knows any tips to maybe fix the screen (if it is a screen problem and not hardware). It just sucks because it works perfect and it did come back on so I know (kinda) that it must be capable of doing it again.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis may be just me or my combo of applications but, When I enter a number on the touchpad and press dial the screen goes dark and will not come back or accept input unless I put the phone to my face or otherwise cover the the light sensor. Even pressing the power button does not bring the screen back . I have forced the 2.1 update and have not noticed this behavior before. Not a big deal but is annoying if you dial a wrong number.

The screen wont turn on either when i open the slider takes a good minute and half till the screen becomes "awake". Is there a fix for this?

View 13 Replies View RelatedOK, so there's not too much customizing you can do with the desk dock screen.There are only 12 icon positions spread out over 3 screens.But what have you done to get it like you like it?I've just got my Calender, Sound Hound (in case I hear something on the TV or radio I want to tag), my Music, and my Photos slide show.If I wanna make a call or check the weather, it's here. The "All lables" folder is Apps Organizer where I can access all of my apps and games without leaving the dock screen for the landscape home screen.My internet screen where I can toggle WiFi, check e-mail, browse, or watch YouTube videos.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI don't see this issue covered so I'll ask it.Apologize if someone has already mentioned it.When I put the Droid into the car dock, it automatically converts to the car home screen like it is supposed to, but nothing works unless I plug in the car charger... I can push the screen and buttons till I'm blue in the finger but nothing will work while not plugged in. The second I plug it in, it work perfect. Anyone else have this issue? Is it a setting I somehow accidentally set? Should I restore it or take it back?

Just wanting to know because my wallpaper when upright (vertical position) does not look good when sideways (horizontal position). when sideway, because the differences in dimension of the screen, takes my wallpaper picture out of center so you cant see the entire picture.

The proplem I have is when I hit the dim button for when I go to sleep after a while the screen times out. It lasts for quite some time so it makes me think that once the phone hits 100% it defaults to my 1 minute screen time out because the phone stays on for at least an hour (I know this because ill plug it in and watch some tv then go to bed)Back when I was on nexbeast or before froyo I used to hit the dim then eventually it would default to a clock that would kind of bounce around the screen.I dont want to go back to nexbeast but surprisingly enough this is making me angry. I want to be able to use the clock for my room and the alarm clock but I also want to be able to dim the screen so I can sleep.

When I had 2.1 it stayed fully lit the whole time it was on the dock.Did this happen to anyone else?This is really annoying because I use it next to my office computer to easily check my schedule, time, tasks etc.
View 3 Replies View RelatedRunning 2.2 from OTA when I take the phone out of a dock (Multimedia or car), the home screen has to rebuild it self. Meaning all the icons are slow to come back. think of it as on a windows machine Explorer dies and you have to do a start/run/explorer to get it back. Only difference i that this is automatic, just slow to get responsive again. Even swipping through the screen is slow at first. Is froyo, google's VISTA?
View 12 Replies View RelatedForgive me if someone else has asked this, but I searched the forum and couldn't find an answer.I understand that the proximity/light sensor turns off the screen when the Eris is next to your ear to prevent "face dailing", etc. And, I understand the screen comes back on when the sensor senses light. Ok, that works fine.BUT, what do you do if you are using the phone in the dark? When I pull the phone away, the screen will not come back on because it does not sense light. For example, trying to delete a voicemail if you're using the phone in the dark. I've tried every button to re-activate the screen, and the only one that will work is the "End" key. And that obviously ends the call.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI am not a big fan of the stock Droid X lockscreen, however I do like the regular Vanilla Lockscreen. Over on XDA I found some dark vanilla lockscreen sliders and decided to mod them for my Droid X.
As of right now I haven't added a vibrate icon with the right slider. Sliding from right to left will either turn sound on, or turn on vibrate mode. Also they are only supported in portrait mode.
Also I am not responsible for any and all damage this may do to your phone/device, neither is wjddesigns.com.
For anyone who didn't see this already over at alldroid, there is a new ROM that I am using that is pretty sweet, its a 2.0.1 rom with 2.1 apps similar to that of the bugless beauty but it doesn't move the /system apps to /data and the notification bar is a dark transparent with white clock? home screen rotation works too. It is a very nice rom and I think very quick, as quick as the version .5 of the bugless one I was using. He is also coming out with a version with wifi tethering but said u can install it separately and it works. I haven't tested that out yet. All in all its a great rom and I am definitely sticking with this one because the theme applied is super slick!
