I'm running BB V0.4, but I would like to install UD Extreme 6.0 from what I've read all I need to do is flash with SPrecovery now here's where I get confused..do I need to find a theme to use with UD? or do I just install it and I'm done...if i wanted to install a custom theme how would I go about doing it.

I've been having the same WiFi connectivity issues mentioned by other people. With my Airport Extreme Simultaneous Dual Band, I couldn't even run the Speedtest app to completion more than once or twice before the X would drop the connection.
Other people have mentioned that it seems to be related to 802.11n - that 802.11g access points weren't having issues.
Many people with Airport's aren't aware that you can configure the radios in a much more fine-grained fashion than is immediately obvious. You can set it up so that it runs 802.11n only on the 5Ghz band, and 802.11g on the 2.4Ghz band.
To do so, start up the Airport Utility, then go to the "Wireless" tab. There's a drop-down for "Radio Mode", which normally only shows three radio options.
On a Mac, hold down the Option key ( Presumably Alt on Windows ), and THEN click Radio Mode. You'll see about a dozen new options.
I chose "802.11n only ( 5 Ghz ) - 802.11 b/g"
This should ensure that clients that have have 5Ghz receivers still get the benefit of having the high speeds from 802.11n, but that 2.4Ghz clients see only a B/G access point.
After making this change, my X has NEVER dropped the Wifi signal. I've run literally dozens of Speedtest checks and it works every time.
So, if you have an Airport Dual Band, you might want to try it out. People with other AP's should see if theirs offers equivalent functionality.
I was usind ADW for a while and liked it. I like LP better because of the scrollable bar bit when I hit the home key or back up to home, about 50+% of the time it takes ten seconds to redraw. I do ude widgets but it should not be this bad. In settings I tried keeping LP in memory, I set high mem useage and many of the other options and its the same. I even uninstalled wiped cache pulled battery and its the same. Is there a setting config I should be using, or not?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHi..I am new to this forum, and to the 'Droid' which is probably way too advanced for my brain to handle..I turn on the Wi Fi settings, it sees my network, I've added my Droid to the Airport Extreme, and I've changed settings to "robustness" as I read in other posts..Nothing seems to work. I am in Extended Network, and the only reason I agreed to get the phone is the salesperson said I could connect to my home computer router..I have searched the internet for hours, and tried different things, but I'm CLUELESS!
View 10 Replies View RelatedI posted a while back about my Eris heating up. Today I was on the phone to tech support for a computer issue. I had it on speaker phone and was on hold for about 30 minutes or so. I picked it up and it was so hot I dropped it. I checked the temp: 145.5f. I snapped a quick picture then put it in the freezer which has since cooled it down to 80f. I KNOW something has to be wrong with my phone but I have gone into the Verizon store already and they told me they can't do anything because I'm running the leaked version and that is most likely the problem. I called Verizon and they told me to go into the store. What should/can I do? Should I go in again with the new picture and show them?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm confused a little bit i read in the Tips and tricks sticky but still lost,what i'm trying to do is create folders in the galery but i'm not seeing folders that i made when plugged into the PC all i see is pics not folders when i can click on and open to view a folder, Say i have folder(s) named Friends, Family, Pets, Etc, Etc,I even downloaded Astro file manager and made a folder named Friends added some pics but still if i went straight to the galery icon in All Apps there is no folders just photos i have scattered all about. Does this mean i have to use Astro each time to view the folders/photos?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI hope that this is an easy one for the root masters on here.Firstly i have successfully rooted my Desire by using the unrevoked3 app so now went though without a hitch and root was successful as i have installed ROM Manger from the Market.ive clicked on the ClockworkMod Recover and that has installed fine.Ive done the Backup Current Rom and its created a folder on my SD card with the back up.Now i want to simply add A2SD or even A2SD+ as they both appear to do the same to me?Ive manually backed up my SD card as i know it needs to partition it but is it simply a case of going through that option or do i need to flash a custom ROM to it?LeeDROID looks like a good option as i like the standard set up pretty much just with launcher pro rather than Sense which i could add after?Lastly, if it all goes wrong how do i restore the backup ive created?

But with S-OFF I will be able to re-root.My question is, how would I go about doing that? Is my phone safe to let the update go through? Also, I've read around, but there's no all-inclusive guide that I can see that has how to get root back once I get the OTA 2.2.I'm kind of wary about using a leaked ROM instead, but that might be the easiest way to do this and keep root unless there's a guide out there.

I have really missed this with my Nexus One. With TMO rolling out Kineto's application for "WiFi Calling" I am trying to figure out what is possible for my Nexus One, currently at Android 2.2.1 (FRG85).Is the Kineto deal only going to be for TMO builds of Android? I have read that Kineto's business model is to not sell direct, hence no availability in the Market. Since my Nexus One gets its Android system updates independently, this would mean I can never get an update with Kineto built-in, right? If I were able to install Kineto, would it look like UMA to TMO so the calls would be covered under my unlimited H@H plan? Any bright ideas on how I can get WiFi Calling (the TMO supported plan that uses my TMO number, not some SIP implementation or Google Voice)? I prefer not to root, but if I have to root to get UMA, I will.

I have a very big problem, as my Nexus One is draining heavily. My Nexus One drains 1% every 4 minutes, no matter which ROM I install Sense, AOKP ICS, MIUI (ICS) and even Stock. The battery remains the same, I have tried various options: from calibrating the battery, wiping battery stats to purchasing a new battery. Neither of those options worked out. The battery still remains the same. My guess is that it's a hardware error.I have no guarantee, as my bootloader is unlocked and I opened the phone once.

Once in a while when the last person that has a dedicated ringtone calls me the default phone ringer set itself to that person's ringtone. I turned off my phone took the battery off and the rebooted, the problem goes away for a awhile and before you know it happens again! It's really bothersome when you think a particular person is calling you, (because of a ringtone) you answer and it someone else.

Today I took a call from the missus and when it ended and went back to the homescreen, the wallpaper had changed to that horrible yellow one. I've had this happen a couple of times now, once when exiting Messaging, and today, exiting the Phone.
Is there somewhere I can send a bug report to google for this? Anyone else had this happen? Is there a quick simple fix?
Before I entered the world of custom ROMs, my i9300's battery was fine. However, when I flashed my first custom rom months ago (CM10.1 nightly), my battery would drain from 100% to 0% in around four or five hours. This was only on light to moderate use, with a bit of Web browsing and Kindle. GPS and mobile data are almost always both off, other than when I need them, and brightness is set at the lowest possible 90% of the time. I checked my battery usage in the settings and there was no evidence of the renowned mediaserver cause of battery drainage, so I'm not really sure what the cause is.
Also, a few days ago my phone began reaching extreme temperatures when I executed any operation on my phone. At the moment I am typing in xda only and my battery is at 111 degrees. I noticed that it began with a certain nightly of Carbonrom and Temasek kernel.
I have done numerous factory resets and flashed different ROMs and even gone back to stock and fully unrooted, but the problem persists.
I changed the default Droid Sans font with Helvetica Neue (which looks gorgeous by the way) and rebooted, worked perfectly. I then decided to change the bold version as well, rebooted, but now I'm stuck at the red Droid eye loading screen over and over again (not the Motorola logo). It just loads for a couple seconds then flashes then repeats. I'm 100% sure I didn't misspell anything and I still have the backups of the fonts in the system folder but how can I now boot into the phone without factory resetting it?

I tried going to the "manage applications" and clear defaults on the camera, but the camera is not an application that shows up. I even reinstalled Vignette, hoping that it would prompt me to pick the default app, but no joy.Anyone know how to change the default camera, or else remap the camera button?
