Does anyone know if it is possible for the Mot. Droid to be configured to accept a VPN email account? I'm not sure if this would be possible because I use Outlook and don't know how Outlook would be used on the Droid.

I changed my hotmail account to an outlook account. The only problem now is that the stock android e-mail app doesn't accept my outlook account, it wants to know if it is a IMAP POP3 or EXCHANGE e-mail account... I don't know this stuff.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'd like to get access to the data stored in the default Email app. I'd like to find out what accounts are associated with the App, and for each account, what folders are associated with the account, and for each folder how many emails are in that folder. I need this information on 2.1 and 1.5. I see the AccountManager in 2.1 can give me some of the accounts configured, but in the Email app you can also add accounts which don't show up in the AccountManager. How do you get access to the accounts configured in the Email app. I'd like to be able to programmatically deleted emails in the users folders. Are the emails stored in a content Provider? If so whats the URI.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm wanting to set up another email account and when I select the new account button on the setup account screen, it takes me to a screen with a "Motorola service agreement" and I have to agree with the terms and conditions before continuing. Is this correct? Do all email accounts go through a Motorola server? The same thing happens with setting up Facebook, MySpace and other services.

I have my hotmail setup on my X. and recently every few hours it shows every mail in my inbox as new. I go and mark them all as ready and then somewhere in the 2 to 24 hour range it will do it again.

Emails received in that account go to GMail and I can send an email from GMail but put the "from" email address as my school email). I can't figure out how to do this on my Droid though.

The gmail app works great for my gmail and the 3 accounts I access through it for personal email. The other email account will go hours without checking and unless I open it and refresh it won't get them at all. I have it set to check every 5 min.
I am wondering if it has something to do with advanced task killer? I have added "email" to the ignore list but I am not sure if that will do the trick.
I ordered a droid and should be here Tuesday. Quick question. I am coming from a BB Storm where my Road Runner (internet provider) email account worked flawlessly on the Storm. Back in the day when i had a Treo there was big work around you had to use in order to get email accounts like this to work on it.Is this the case with a Droid as well, or is it as simple as the BB storm where i just enter in my email and password in setup and it is done? The sales rep on the phone told me i would be able to get my RR emails on the droid but we all know how sales reps can be.
View 49 Replies View RelatedI am having some very annoying email problems that I have fought with for almost a week, researched and tried multiple programs, and followed about every tutorial on this and similar sites to make work. My school system's email provider is junk, but since I'm a traveling teacher (I bounce between schools) it is very important that I be able to receive and reply to emails from administrators and other teachers. I'm coming from five years of Blackberry email, where all it took was inputting my address and password in the BIS email page and never having to give it a second thought.
So far, here's a rundown on what's happened and what I've tried:
1. Using My Accounts and the stock email program, my email address has been added. It will not connect when set up as a POP3 account; I must set it as an IMAP account to retrieve any emails. No matter what port setting I use (25 or 587), I cannot send or reply to email.
2. Using K-9 email, I am able to download email as POP3 with standard settings (port 110). As with the built-in client, I am unable to reply to or send emails.
3. Before you ask, 587 never worked. I've tried.
4. The email address is configured in accordance with our service provider's instructions..
5. This issue has occurred in the same manner on both 2.1 and 2.2.
On the droid, I've got my corporate email, my gmail and my yahoo setup. However, when I click on a mailto link, it only sends from my corporate email.How can I change it so that I can select which account I want to send from when I click on a link?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a student email account for Virginia tech and I can't get it set up properly on my phone. Is there certain settings I need to use to get it to work? I don't really know a whole lot about POP3 and IMAP etc. One thing I did notice is that when using Microsoft outlook at school everything works fine. But when I go home I can still receive messages but cant send them. I am thinking its because my IP address isn't one on campus and that messes up something with the servers?

Always just re-entered my account info, but wanted to try restoring it the last time I wiped, and could not get it to work. I restored "Accounts" and "Account and Sync Settings 2.2" and all my Gmail accounts are present, but when I launch the Email app or look at Settings>Accounts my Exchange Email account has not been restored. (I also restored Email 2.2 (only option was Data restore). This was going from one CM nightly to another, so I'm restoring data from two ROM s that are virtually the same. Any advice appreciated - I can add the Exchange Email account back manually, but wondered why I can't restore it. What am I missing?

However I want to be able to access my companies email I have set up through powweb.com (they host my website). Anyway I keep getting error messages that it could not finish set up or sometimes it says Error: check user and password details. I triple checked and made sure I was putting in the right info and then I even went on the powweb website and made sure I was putting in the correct settings and even contacted someone there and they gave me some info to try and help and I am still getting error messages. I have tried POP and IMAP. The exchange account, is a fee based account.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have wiped data and restored my apps twice with Titanium so far. It all works well, but two minor problems. First, every time I do it all of my previous call logs, and all of my previous handcent text messages also get reset. Is there a way I can restore all of these as well?
Also is there a way I can restore my non-gmail email account so I do not have to go through the whole set up of putting in the incoming and outgoing settings all over again. It isn't a huge deal, but it does get annoying redoing the path, the port and the security every single time.
I might just not be doing the correct restore as I only do the batch restore missing apps with data and not all apps with data, but I do not know for sure.
I just set up my main email account, and made sure both the email addy an passowrd were right several times, yet it can't seem to connect.
Is there a better app?
I have my gmail account and a Comcast POP 3 account working on my Droid but would like to set up a GoDaddy.com domain email account that I use with the Droid. I am not sure what type of email format godaddy uses. Is this possible?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just switched from the HTC eris to the Droid and had no issues with IMAP on the eris which is running 1.5 OS. What's happening is I setup my personal domain email as imap and all works. I mark all messages in the inbox as read. When new email comes in it marks the entire inbox as new. I've deleted the account multiple times and done a hard reset. I even tested this in the store on 2 phones.
Moto doesn't have an answer and I found this thread on the VZ forums Droid IMAP emails always Unread - Verizon | Forums and Blogs - Verizon Community which the OP is using the same hosting company as I am. I've never had a problem on a WinMo, BB or iPhone setting it up the same way. Something seems off but not sure what it is. I've setup GMail via the same mail app and that's working.
I let my friend play around with my phone and now I'm locked out. I've been told to access via gmail account but it won't accept this . Any suggestions
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have been reading up on the concept of push email, and how it's supposed to be a huge battery saver (since in theory, the phone would only receive a notification of an e-mail, and not the actual e-mail itself). I have also been reading up on how the "Gmail" app's version of Push email is not the same as other Push e-mail software, in that it requires the phone to "Sync" whenever an e-mail hits the Gmail server. As a result, whenever I would try to turn Auto Sync off (supposedly to save battery), I would no longer be able to get my e-mail notifications in real time.
With this in mind, I attempted to find another application that would enable me to use Push email for my Gmail account, without having to "Sync" with Gmail's server. After messing around for a bit, I found that I could manually input my Gmail account info (Incoming Server, Outgoing Server, Username, Pass, Etc.) into the stock "Email" app that comes with the X. Once this was done, I was able to enable "Data Push" in the "Email" app's Settings menu (as well turning off any Polling intervals). By doing this, I was able to receive new Gmail notifications through the "E-mail" app, even when Auto Sync had been turned off. As a bonus, I received them around 15 seconds faster than I did with the "Gmail" app's version of Push.....
why I cannot get my email client on my phone (Galaxy S3) to accept Mozilla Thunderbird? Also, I cannot get a new account to work with the basic e-mail client nor Bluebird, G mail, K9, Yahoo and about 4 others. Always, It's says "Outgoing server cannot be authenticated".... I'm using a server thru a Govt. entity....
