Just like the title says, I'm at the laundrymat on my phone so I didn't have the option to search the forums. I wiped the data, and did a back up. But I would like to use chevys kernel vs a p3, just my preference.

I have a HTC Droid Eris and Windows 7 32 Bit Ultimate Version. I am having problems using the HTC Sync software with my device. I have no problem using the HTC Sync software on my Windows XP machine, but I would like to sync it with my Windows 7 Laptop.
View 18 Replies View RelatedI successfully installed Humberos JP2, everything I need works fine and it is rooted, but I cant get 3G connection, my Galaxy Tab is the P1000L from Telcel.
The phone is working fine, WiFi fine, but no 3G.
So I finally rooted my droid, installed BB 0.4 and from what I understand it comes with an 800 MHz kernel. Fair enough but lets say I want 1 GHz. I'm already noticing that I get slightly less battery life with this than with stock 2.1, so would the "low voltage" or "ultra low voltage" Chevy kernels provide me with more battery life? I know I should probably get SetCPU, but I don't want to constantly have to manage clock speeds manually and I don't know what profiles to set / what's safe and what's not safe and whatnot.If I DON'T install SetCPU, will the phone take care of it by itself and slow the clock down when it's not doing intense tasks and so forth? Is SetCPU really necessary with a kernel or is it just for extra control for super power users?

The OTA downloaded but failed to install on my X running rooted 2.1 and nextheme. No apps deleted or other mods of any kind. I removed the theme and decided to go with the leaked version rather than deal with new restrictions on the OTA. I tried installing the stock 2.2 version in rom manager and it failed. I wiped the phone and rerooted and installed bootstrap and rom manager then tried again and it failed. Can someone point me in the right direction please?

I want to just custom recovery restore to the deodexed ROM here (Droid X 2.2 Froyo Deodexed and Ready For Themes) but cannot because I get the following error every time I try to restore a backup from custom recovery: "e:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0 device or resource busy.I think I found out that it is because this Koush recovery is the original 2.1 version, so I need the 2.2 one.Two things:-Where do I get this 2.2 newer version? His site doesn't mention it but maybe he just replaced the file download without mentioning? http://www.koushikdutta. com/2010/08/droid-x-recovery.html)-How can I install this newer recovery if I am stuck in bootloop?

All of the links I've found don't seem to work If anyone has a working link to his ROM's that would be great. I've looked everywhere though and I did find one site with links to his stuff, but got a 404 not found error on all of them.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI switched back to Ultimate Droid 1.0.0 but not through nandroid. Just a start over. So for some reason I can install everything back except Angry Birds. I know that is really bad luck. Any app but angry birds. So I have tried all the ways I can think of. Through the market, downloaded from getjar and install through Astro, and I have put it in the system application folder through root explorer. Also tried installing through root explorer. And Angry Birds lite won't install either.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just flashed UD v8 last night and got into the LED hack and adjusted my settings so that when I dock it all LEDs turn off. Cool and the gang. Except now when I get an email or text message I don't get the blue or green flashing LED in the top right like normal. I actually love this cuz I can tell if I have an email/sms without powering up out of sleep mode. Granted, that isn't that big a deal, but I like my damn LED.
Anyone experiencing this or have any ideas on a fix?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have read and searched everywhere on how to install custom kernels.I follow each step: download the file, change the name of the file to update.zip, copy file onto root of SD card, boot into recovery, go to install, select "Allow update.zip Installation", install.When it starts to install it pops up "no such file or directory" installation aborted.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI did do a search, but didn't find anything. I had been running Cyanogen's latest 5.0.5.3 I had also been using Ultimate Droid 8.1.1. I had decided to flash to UD from CM. I used ROM Manager. I had been using the Helix 2 launcher with UD. I decided to try the launcher2, so I checked that. The whole process ran apparently normally. Except it did lock up at the cache backup stage at the dalvik cache backup. I had to pull the battery and re do the ROM download from ROM manager. However, when the screen pops up after all of the boot antimation cycle, and you unlock, there is an immediate launcher2 force close. I can get to nothing in the phone. I do have the entire contents of my sd card on my laptop, which has all of the backups on it, not including this latest one.Power off and hold the X key does not work, so I can't get to reboot recovery that way. Multiple power off and battery pulls did nothing. Another point is that I had been able to download UD only if I checked AdamZ's 1.0 low voltage overclock kernel. I would get ROM download error with ANY of the other kernel choices. I tried this after the ROM Manager update I found tonight. This time I checked Chevy's 1.25 low voltage, and the process seemed normal, other than the lockup during cache backup noted above. However UD had been running just fine when I had used it. S

I finally got 2.01 back onto my phone. It took a new version of RSD lite running as an admin to get it to work.. Now, I want to root this bad boy and install bugbless beast, where can I read up on how to install custom roms?

I haven't messed around with android kernels yet, but I have applied it to my current Ubuntu 10.10 system and you can see the difference. Its like night & day!
I know there have been a lot of things said on this forum, and others, about blackdroid good and bad. That being said we all flash different Rom's because we want to see whats new and what fits us best. I have tried Ultimate Droid 5.0 (ERE25 Base) and it is very smooth with no FC's and runs extremely fast. Please dont turn this thread into a back and forth because that was not the reason I wanted to post this. I also want to give major props to ChevyNo1 for his amazing kernel (that my phone likes woo hoo). I know we all at this point have flashed many roms but I believe this is what I will stay with until something amazing comes out (senceUI, Flash....). Props to all the Developers for their hard work and giving us the many choices we have. I have CM6, but I hear the new UD 8.0 is quick and snappy. This is something I want, but don't have on CM6. Should I switch over to US 8.0?

I would like to incorporate a different kernel when I compile and instead of the stock. I know I could compile them separately and have them flash together but I want one zip to flash. Just would like to go through the process to learn.

I currently have bekit 1ghz kernet installed, but I was interested in trying out some other kernels. Can I just install them via Rom Manager over the first kernel? Or is there some kind of uninstall process I should use first?

We get mysterious crash log messages all the time which happens only a couple dozen or even less devices which we can not directly reproduce while the vast majority of the users can use those features without problem. We suspect that in some of these cases some custom ROM or custom kernel causes the problem. Currently we get these informations from the hardware/software environment (in the parentheses there are examples from an actual crash log):
- Android version (4.0.4)
- Board version (SPH-D710)
- Brand (Samsung)
- System build number (IMM76I.FH13)
- System build ID (IMM76I)
I have a Nexus S with ParanoidAndroid, and on the About Phone page there are the extra fields I speak about (for example CyanogenMod version, ParanoidAndroid version, kernel version). My question is that is there an universal way to extract all or some of this information which could work on any device?
