Motorola Droid :: Best Boot Up Anim / How To Install?

What's the best boot up anim and how to install?
I was on 2.2 rooted on my droid x. Attempted to install a replacement for the taskbar. The phone is stuck in a boot loop now. I've read about 5,000 different pages saying just use RSD. It all starts by saying; plug the phone in, let the computer detect it, install the drivers.. This is where I'm stuck. The only thing I have access to is the recovery console and the big endless loop. So at no point the phone turns on to the point where the PC will detect it as a device.
View 23 Replies View RelatedI tried installing Tranquility and must have screwed something up because now my phone won't boot past the Motorola Logo. It's been sitting here like this for about 15min and I can't even boot into recovery by holding the power and home buttons. I don't know what else to do now. Idk if my phone is bricked but even if it is don't I need the SBF file to unbrick it and I can't find that file any where. I did a nand backup or whatever before doing any of this so hopefully that can help me. What should I do now?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI went to reboot my Droid because it was lagging a little and when it came back on it go stuck at the Cyanogen boot screen. I pulled the battery, put it back in and held the X to boot in recovery and my recovery won't come up either. It just skips right to the Motorola M and if it doesn't get stuck there it goes back to the Cyanogen screen.
I haven't made any changes to the phone at all so I am completely puzzled on why this is happening. I obviously can't take it back to Verizon since its rooted so if there is a way to fix this I really want to because I love my phone and my wife will kill me if it is screwed up.
I'm a noob... but no matter where I look in the res directory there is only main.xml and I am supposed to have res/anim/mainanim.xml and I don't. My code is here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3290290/please-help-me-with-frame-animaions-android-question. I also keep getting in the java document, "id and anim cannot be resolved or is not a field" error. Can you guys help me?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI cant see or reference the anim folder in the res folder.
When I go in the res folder it is also not there, I need the anim folder for animation.
Am I supposed to see it, or is it hidden?
So I'm not quite ready to root yet but wanted to do some more custimization to my phone. I read in another forum about being able to change the boot animation without root. It worked so after reading about some of you all that don't like the sprint 4g boot animation I figured I'd share.
First, you need to install android SDK. Bill did a good guide to installing it: http://androidforums.com/tips-tricks-evo-4g/90418-how-install-android-sdk.html.
When I was installing the sdk I had a lot of trouble with installing the driver for the EVO for whatever reason. Eventually this is what worked for me:
dc50 Hideaway: ADB Driver for HTC Evo 4G
Once you get SDK installed find a new boot animation. There are a few here: [url]
The boot animation should be a zip file named "bootanimation". Put this file in the tools folder of the sdk.
Open up command prompt (Start>Run>type "cmd"). In command prompt you need to get to the sdk tools folder. To do this I typed in "cd C:Documents and SettingsUserDesktopandroid-sdk-windows ools" where "User"=you user name. This may be different depending on your version of windows and where you unpacked sdk.
Now from here you can check to make sure your device is connected by typing in "adb devices". If you get a line that says "List of Devices Attached" and then a line with some numbers and letters followed by "device" you are conneceted. If not go back a try reinstalling Android SDK.
Now with the bootanimation.zip file in the tools folder and command prompt pointing to the tools folder type "adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local". Make sure you put the spaces in or it won't work.
Restart your phone and you should see the new boot animation instead of the Sprint 4G one.
Instead of having to try one of the methods, if using the root method.
If you don't understand please refer to this video (2min in):
YouTube - Droid Incredible Enable Wireless N
I just Rooted 2.2 and I tried to install Fresh Evo 3.1.0.2. It worked but for some reason it's just hanging at the boot screen. It's been about 15 min now and It keeps replaying the animation. What did I do wrong?
View 2 Replies View Relatedi installed jellyblast on my galaxy ace gt-s5830i, used it for couple of days and then restored cwm backup to stock rom. after about a week the phoen booted itself and got into bootloop. when i tried to wipe data got this mesaage : E:format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/stl11.
* i tried installing cwm backup
* i tried installing stock rom from samfirmware using odin with/without pit.
* i tried multiformatter for changing ext4 to rfs and then again tried unstalling stock rom and also custom roms.
* i tried wipe firmware package.
* phone enters in bootloop when i flash stock rom using odin and get stuck on boot when i install custom rom through cwm.
I was trying to install CyanogenMod, but now it wont boot. It's just boot with a 'circle'logo, and nothing happends.
Please see my video on youtube: [URL]...
Is there anyway I can get back to get my phone back to working again? I have tried to hold down VOLUME UP and Powerbutton with USB-cable in, but still the circle-logo
Am I correct that the Ally has the same build as the Nexus One ERE27. So does anyone know how to get into the boot recovery menu to try and install the 2.2 update?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI should have just left it as it was out of the box..So after attempting to install a custom rom (4.4.2 Play edition)my s4 is stuck at the Samsung I9505 boot screen. I wiped the 'Dalvik cache' 'System' and 'cache' partitions in TWRP as I was following along with a Youtube video (that didn't work). When I tried to flash the custom ROM it automatically said failed. After giving up and turning on the phone I found that I'm stuck at this screen.
Have I bricked the phone? $550 could have gone down the drain just like that. I don't want to touch it without any advice and make everything worse. My only hope now is that I've managed to wipe the original software and it has nothing to boot from.
Why did the ROM install fail in the first place? I had it copied on the SD card. It was zip file.I can still access TWRP just fine and my SD shows up with the custom ROM still there, it's just whenever I hit install it fails in under a second.
I have a device (Vodafone Smart mini aka. Vodafone 875) and i installed Chainfire3D. My os is Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. Its stuck on vodafone logo(boot loop) . What can i do ? USB Debugging is off on the device so my PC says new hardvare and MT65xx Android Phone but its says device doesnt running welll. How can i uninstall CF or re-flash android? ADB idk its doesnt work if i open the cmd just exit..

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been working on this phone from start to finish about 9 hours, over two days..I've Google just about every combination of words to do with the title and everything in between but nothing seems to come close to what i actually need to do as nothing works.
i have an LG Optimus 2x / p990, it had ICS on it but was far too slow to handle this, it needs something a bit less hardware intensive to run smoothly, so i went ahead an found cyanogenmod stable...7.2 i installed sdk after an hour of finding out how it works i finally got adb and fast boot working.
to cut a 9 hour story short, I've managed to get myself to the point where i wiped the phone of everything but CWM partitioned for ics via the AIO software but CWM will not let me install any ROM onto the phone. to be more precise it says i have installed CM 7.2 successfully! (I've tried this via the CWM via external SD card and side load) i reboot the phone it's as if I've never done a thing, no trace or suggestion I've even attempted it on the internal card... nothing
i'm at the point now where i'm quite happy to just have my phone back now and install ICS 404 but can't use the LG kdz install software as the pc doesn't see the phone as an LG p990 because it's recovery and i can only get it to come up as internal and external memory cards.
Can get my phone working will do, preferably the CM 7.2 if not back to ICS 404? i should have backed up but i had no idea it could be so complicated just to put an OS on a tiny computer. I've tried that exit recovery.zip thing and it did nothing :/
This is to change the motorola logo that you see when you boot your phone to a custom image. This is separate from the boot animation seen afterwards.Tools/files you will need:
1) RSD Lite
2) droid sbf
3) SBFCodec
4) Photoshop (or paint, or whatever drawing program)
5) Hex editor (frhed is free and very easy to use)
NOTE: I do not use sbf-recall because it complains about needing version 1.3, so I use SBFCodec instead.Steps:
1) Run SBFCodec and open up the sbf file. This will extract all the smg files and header files.
2) Using photoshop, create an image that is 480 pixels wide and 182 pixels tall. Each color should be assigned 8 bits (1 byte), or in paint, just make a 24 bit bmp file. Mirror the image, making the left become the right, and the right becoming the left. Save as a bmp file (photoshop method).
3) Using a hex editor, open up your image and erase the first 54 bytes of data. (and possibly the last 2 bytes of data if you used photoshop. the number of bytes remaining should be exactly 262,080) With the remaining data, reverse the bytes. (using frhed, the option is in the edit menu->Reverse bytes)
4) Using a hex editor, open up the CG42.smg file created in step 1 and erase all data except the last 64 bytes of data (these 64 bytes of data should be FF's in the file). Then paste in the remaining data from step 3 to the beginning of the file and save. Your final file should be exactly 262,144 bytes large.
5) Go back to the SBFCodec window and save (this creates the sbf) the sbf file and name it whatever you want. i.e. boot.sbf
6) Using RSD Lite, flash this sbf to your phone. It may take 5-10 minutes for the flashing to complete. (after the 10 minutes, it might say "failed", just click on the show device button once that happens and you'll have succeeded)You now have a stock phone with a custom boot image. Go ahead and root your phone and stuff. Sorry for the difficult instructions, this was the only approach I could think of to edit the boot logo.
I've rooted my Desire on o2 have version 0.80 of the boot loader. I applied the defrost rom version 2.7 following this guide. Droid Den - Phone Guide: How To Install Rooted Android 2.2 On Your HTC Desire - Droid Den. It went through applying the ROM but now I just have it stuck on the o2 splash screen and going no further. Can't seem to find a backup.zip anywhere on my ROM and thought to back out the change. What's the best way to go? Re-flash again?
View 19 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure if this is considered a boot loop but when turned on, after the logo it turns into a blank screen.
Anyway, I was stupid enough to install 3D chainfire when it's not compatible (I neglected the description since it worked on my previous galaxy ace) ...
I've tried going to recovery mode to:
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe cache partition (but shows error)
Not sure what else can I do anymore. Since Ace 3 is fairly new, it's quite hard to find a solution with google.. Also, I have zero knowledge about flashing ROM or of the sort..
Extra info:
- My phone is Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 GT - S7275R
- Rooted with a Chinese universal rooting program
- When entering recovery mode, it shows "no command" for a few seconds before entering the menu.
I'm completely stuck with this bootloop thing. so i got this Tiphone A508 with mt6572 inside. the spec is android 4.2.2, 3.5inch screen, 320x480pixels, dual camera (2mp and vga), and this writing in the 'about phone' :
moly.wr8.w1315.md.wg.mp.v15.p1
That's all i can remember about my phone because the cellphone is now in bootloop state. it happened after i installed a new font using ifont from the playstore. and the stupid thing about it is i don't have any usable backup.
I thought i had installed cwm recovery on the phone but i was mistaken, it was just the stock recovery (recovery 3e). and the backup i made with the stock recovery is completely useless. I tried installing flashable zip stock jellybean font via the stock recovery but it always said 'installation aborted'.
I installed a custom bootlogo a while back, but my phone is giving me hardware trouble (keyboard and audio jack) so I will have to eventually have it replaced.I was wondering if anyone had the original "M" bootlogo, or could direct me to where I can find it.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi'm a long time reader but first time poster. I got my droid on launch day and have had no problems until today. I recently replaced Power Manager with Toggle Settings, but forgot to switch profiles while i was fishing so I ran out of battery really fast. I put it on the charger and it worked for a little, then i took it off before it was fully done and now it won't stay booted. It always goes back to the droid, then droid eye before the screen turns black and repeats. the green LED is blinking, and sometimes it shows the lock screen for a second, but just keeps trying to reboot.I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I can't seem to get the SD card out of the phone and I think that may be the problem because I was charging through my computer from a fully dead battery.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThis issue is actually my friends droid, but he has 0 internet without his droid and now it's broken. His droid not rooted, not dropped, never wet, no damage, etc -- will only power on after being plugged into a wall outlet. After being plugged in, it automatically starts up, gets to the motorola icon and sometimes the eye, and then reboots. Two things to note:While booting, the led flashes red, indicating a bad battery. However, on occasion, it will reach the unlock screen for mere seconds stating that the battery is at 60%.I can access recovery and do everything there normally without a restart. The only solution I can think of is a factory hard reset.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFinally, after months of being MIA and somewhat around in between, I finally have some new releases together. I am still working on some more also so check back for updates.
My old thread containing boot animations is now but links to the downloads for those animations are included in this thread. In order to minimize confusion and also to give everyone the desired visual before downloading that I know so many of us enjoy previews are included for your ease of selection and enjoyment.
Many thanks go out to LiQuID, Ubrocked, GirLuvsDroid & everyone else who has helped with ideas, testing and promotion. Also, with my newest mods available I'd also just like to shout out a thanks to: cool saber, for his droid does original boot animation. In addition, I now have some fully original boot animations available with a few more to come shortly.
LiQuID Frozen Yogurt Users:
Also, in LiQuID's new release of 1.7 LFY, with each theme color available these boot animations will already be included in the download links for the themes ready to go, so LFY users of 1.7 after its release need NOT download these unless you want to switch them out or you are customizing with a different theme and of course if you want to use them and you are running an older version of LFY. With each preview that you see, in order to download the one you want simply click on the preview and you will automatically be linked to the download for that boo animation.
VERY IMPORTANT:
After downloading, for users that are not already familiar with this you will need to make sure that you rename the boot animation when ready to use to the name bootanimation.zip exactly as I have it spelled there and I do believe that it is case sensitive.
Also, if you are a newly rooted user or are not sure how to replace this I recommend using root explorer - and then follow these steps:
1.Rename file xyz.zip to bootanimation.zip
2.Copy or Move File
3.Go to System/Media
4.Select Read/Write setting
5.Paste and click OK to overwrite(possibly copy this to another directory for a bakup before overwriting or you will lose the bootanimation already in your phone)
6.Long press to generate menu and select permissions
7.Select rw-r-r or use all permissions
8.Select Read/Only setting
9.Reboot and Enjoy
Another option is to:
put the bootanimation.zip, using terminal into data/local ...
typing command:
#su
#cp /sdcard/bootanimation.zip /data/local/
Keep the spaces it won't work without them also do not type the # symbols
# = superuser privileges
$ = no super user privileges
If anyone encounters any bugs, etc... or you just need a little more help on how to use these just post and I'll and I'm sure other users too, will be more than happy to do my/our best to correct any issues or assist in answering your questions.
I truly hope everyone enjoys and please consider donating (link at bottom) if you like my or LiQuID's hard work as we are facing possible eviction if we don't catch up on rent soon and can barely make it right now. If you can't we understand too and enjoy bringing you more enjoyment with your phones, we just ask if you can spare anything to please consider trying to help out a family in need.
I do not condone or run either of the following NSFW boot animations. I cannot be held responsible for any negative actions that may/will come as a result of anyone seeing these on your phone, be it your parents grounding you or your wife/gf slapping you or heaven forbid...kicking you in the groin. Use at your own risk.
