Motorola Droid :: Mounting Drives On Home / Office Network?

Dec 30, 2009

I would like to get my droid to be a computer on my home or office network, such that I can get files directly on it, print from it etc. I was able to do this win my winmo phones, but of course, they were windows and so was my network. Is there a way to attach to a computer, and have a file manager on the droid that will be able to see and copy files back and forth between the phone and the computer. I can do this with other linux computers on my work network.

Motorola Droid X :: Setting Up Wireless Transfers On A Home Network

Oct 6, 2010

I don't know how to set this up on my Droid X and Windows computers (XP Pro and Vista on the Wife's). Can someone point me to a tutorial or better yet, lay out here how to do this? I want to sync or move files between the phone and the computers, move pictures and music back and forth and anything else I desire. I see the DLNA and the Media Share stuff...I just don't know exactly how to set this up. I could probably figure it out, but I thought I'd ask because I'm sure someone already has set this up, knows how to direct the rest of us, and ultimately wants to make our lives easier.

Android : Possible To Map A Network Drive

Dec 14, 2009

I have been scouring these pages the last few days and have found every possible FTP and file transfer app, But none allow access to a https:// secured folder.

In my case, I'm attempting to connect to my schools academic program server to view and download files to and from my Droid.

Although I can view this server through the browser, it is a read only version.

I guess I'm looking for a Mapping Network Drive app that is not restricted to FTP

Motorola Milestone :: Phone Keeps Disconnecting To Home WiFi Network

Sep 26, 2010

I am struggling to connect to my home wifi network. I very occasionally can connect but there seems to be no obvious method to the madness just some black magic. Basically it sees my network it has remembered the key, the key is correct, and it says disconnected. I press connect and nothing happens at all but sometimes it will say "connecting..." then it will immediately say disconnected. I have a belkin router and my network is secured using WPA/WPA2 TKIP/AES encryption. I have tried using APNDroid to turn off my mobile internet before using wifi and that sometimes works but that seems to be more black magic than a solution.

HTC Droid Eris :: Home WiFi Network And Android 2.1 Device

Jun 5, 2010

I have an Eris with Android v. 2.1 and a Belkin 54g router. The phone lists my home network in its list of of wifi networks. When I press the entry, an info box says that signal strength is good and security is open. (for the purpose of trying to have my phone connect). When I press "connect," it says "Obtaining IP address." Then after a couple of minutes, it says "Unsuccessful."

My phone has connected to other WiFi networks with no problem; indeed, it has done so automatically, with no effort on my part. My router assigns IP addresses via DHCP. It also broadcasts its SSID, which the phone recognizes.

Aug 14, 2010

I'm rooted. However when looking through the internal memory i don't see a good place to put several gigs of music. Where should iput it? When connected as usb drive, i have no access to system files to copy over my music to. What is the best way to copy the music? Copy to sd card the root explorer copy to internal is all i can think of. That would be incredibly slow.
1. Where to put music on internal?
2. Is internal memory for storage same/shared with system files?
3. How to copy file to internal?
My 32 gb sd is full of movies so need to use my empty internal.

I have been trying to find a way of quickly switching off/on the Mobile Network setting from the home screen. When searching Google there's loads of pages stating that it is an HTC Widget that can be added. I have checked all the widgets on the Desire HD and cannot seem to find it anywhere. I am using an unbranded handset.

The Desire HD manual even states "You can also add widgets that allow you to quickly switch on or off certain settings of your phone, such as Wi-Fi, Mobile Network...".

Does anyone else with an HD handset have this widget ?
