Does anyone know how to modify/add contact associations? What I mean is when I open up a contact there are options to email, text or call them. I would like to add the option to facebook chat or aim them. When I add their aim account under contact info a bar comes up that says "chat using aim". However, when I click it nothing happens. Does anyone know of an app to add this functionality?

i like to modify an app which is reading the whole phonebook. this app sends the complete phonebook over the internet.
Ive tried to modify the decompiled smali file with jar file, but its very difficult. Im a experienced programmer in PLC programming and some other languages like c# but the smali code is very difficult.Is it possible to implement fix contacts in the app like disable the access to the contacts an give an fixed array of hard programmed contacts?
I first noticed a problem when trying to launch the Weather app on my 2.1 equipped Droid Eris. Had it for about a week now. The app crashes every time. Things I have tried:
- hard reset of the phone
- remove battery
- reset Sense to defaults
- cleared application data/cache from weather apps
I was going to try this last one again when I noticed something very very weird. When I got to Manage Applications, and click on "Weather" it actually takes me to the application info for Quickoffice! It now seems like all the weather apps (and some others) are messed up. If I click on "HTC Weather Wallpaper" it takes me to application info for Visual Voicemail. " HTC Weather sync provider" gives me app info for Clock Widget. If I click on Clock Widget, I get info for Mabilo Wallpapers (app from store). What the heck is goin on here....
Any suggestions on what to try? I have searched Google and the various forums extensively and cant find any instances of other people having this issue.
I have a '99 Saturn SC2 that I modify. I've added an overhead console from a Suburban, and have a large space that I've always known I'd like to use for something cool. Looks like I'll be getting a Droid soon, and am eyeballing the spot for a Droid mount. So, I'm looking for a relatively inexpensive mount that I can modify to fit this space in front of the map lights.
I have a filler plate that fills that hole, which I can modify with the mount to give a cleaner look.
I'm still getting my head around what all I can do with the droid, so it's hard to say what all I plan to use it for in the car. I have not yet upgraded the stereo headunit, so the droid won't be interfacing with it for quite a while (on the plus side that means when I do upgrade the headunit, I can pick whatever's going to work out best). Might be nice to find a dock that activates the car mode or whatnot, but I'm not looking to spend big bucks on something that I'm going to likely have to chop up to make it fit.
Also, as this will be my phone and a business tool, the Droid needs to be easily removable.
Is there anyway to change the default programs that you have setup for different tasks as I wish to change my streaming media player from the default one that I have set to open when I stream media using Dolphin Browser from the standard one (I have clicked 'Always use this program to perform this operation' when first asked).

Note: I did search before posting and came up empty handed so dont bash me if this has been asked before.
I have a couple of FLV format movies on my phone that play fine with the MX Player video app. The problem is, they are not associated with the player. For some reason, they were auto associated with ZA Archiver (winzip type app), so clicking on the vids in my file explorer triggers that app instead. Plus it opens to ZA's browser, meaning I'd have to browse to the vids again to try and open. At that point, ZA then asks what program I want to open them with. Clearing data on ZA didnt' work (How I thought you could remove file type associations), and uninstalling it removed all associations with the movies. It then just gives me an error that the files cannot be opened.
Is there any way I can force FLV's to always open in MX Player? I know I could use MX's built in browser to get to them as well, but just a personal preference thing that I want to use the stock file explorer.
Anyone else have this issue or know a fix? Contact pictures show in contact details and in the contacts app, but not in the dial or when I get a call. Contact management is the only thing I don't like about my X.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen adding new contacts to the droid x, it added it as both a goggle contact and phone contact. (i only have one goggle account setup). I went into contacts -> menu -> more -> settings. I am UNABLE to check/unchecked the "Phone Contacts" (it is always checked). The goggle one i am able to check/unchecked. WHY and HOW can i toggle the phone contact? Also, backup assistant only takes PHONE contacts and not GOOGLE contacts...while g mail contact sync only takes goggle contacts and NOT PHONE contacts. How can one change phone contact to goggle contact? (i have seen posts all over but no answers...and just replies saying "i have the same problem") I am trying NOT to have two (2) different types of contacts. PHONE and GOOGLE. I just want goggle contacts ( or phone contacts. so i can at least use verizon's backup assistant.

View 9 Replies View RelatedHow easy or difficult would it be to get the stock Android messaging app (like on the Nexus One) and modify the apk so that it will install on an UNROOTED Droid Eris? Because if you download the stock messaging apk, it won't install because it is basically named the same thing as my HTC messaging app that comes stock. So if Handcent and all installs as seperate messaging apps, is there a way to make the stock Android messaging different so that it will install? If I can modify the Handcent apk, resign, and install it successfully, shouldn't there be a way to modify the stock Android messaging app and install it without root?

After I switch the display group to "Phone Contacts", it'll stay that way for an hour or so, but later, it'll switch right back to "All contacts". I have added contact photos to my contacts using existing photos on the SD card. they are high resolution photos that look great on the phone screen even zoomed way in. When I use these same photos for a contact, and then that contact calls, the photo pops up showing they are calling, but the photo looks terrible.
I also see the terrible looking contact photos on LPP's People Widget.
Anyone know what is causing this? Anyone else experiencing this? Anyone have great looking contacts photos show up when calls come in? I have a feeling this is happening when I add photos to contacts...not with photos that are coming through via contacts on facebook or google...not sure? Any ideas?
Any apps that allow you to change rings tones of Contacts? I don't need one that creates ring tones, has ring tones, etc. Just one that will let me have phone calls use different ring tones depending on who the contact is.
