View 18 Replies View RelatedI realized that I had to build my own custom dock after reading on other custom dock threads. Most of them were cool but none have had forward facing speakers so far.I didn't want my Droid speaker in constant use when using Pandora, videos, etc. and I wanted speakers facing me, not back. This is what I came up with.It runs on two AA batteries, volume is controlled through phone and bumps loud enough to be heard clearly from 30 feet away. I know it looks a little rough around the edges but let me know what you think. My pics are too big to upload so I made a quick website with pics only, don't worry, it's legit.Wix.com - Website built by Droid24 based on Blank Website

View 2 Replies View RelatedHere's another one in my quest for customization using the multimedia dock. Unfortunately, I have sub-par VZ service in many parts of my house. I'm considering the Wireless Extender ($249 - ouch), but until I make that call, I've been manually forwarding my cell phone to my home phone line.
Question: would there be a way to set up a script or functionality that would tell the Droid to forward to home when in dock and un-forward when taken out of the dock. Might be kinda cool. I think one of the mobile companies used to sell a dock that did just this in the early 2000s.
I am basically unable to successfully forward emails with attachments. From within my exchange account, the forwarded message is delivered with my typed text, none of the quoted text, and an error file instead of the attachment: A_POLICY_VIOLATED_FILE_WAS_DETECTED_AND_REMOVED.TX T.
This happens regardless of what type of email account I forward the message to--google account or exchange.
If I forward a message with an attachment from my google account, it includes my text and quoted text at least, but not the attachment.
If I can't forward attachments, ok--but I don't get the policy violated file thing. I should note that this occurs in TouchDown and in the native android 2.0 mail application.
I obviously didn't look hard enough. I was able to successfully forward in TouchDown by downloading the attachments first. The quoted text and the full attachments then went just fine.
Sorry for the newb question. Of course you can tap in the right spot, but that is not very accurate. The d-pad on the hard keyboard works of course, but what about on the soft keyboard?
View 8 Replies View RelatedAnyone else have this issue or know a fix? Contact pictures show in contact details and in the contacts app, but not in the dial or when I get a call. Contact management is the only thing I don't like about my X.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen adding new contacts to the droid x, it added it as both a goggle contact and phone contact. (i only have one goggle account setup). I went into contacts -> menu -> more -> settings. I am UNABLE to check/unchecked the "Phone Contacts" (it is always checked). The goggle one i am able to check/unchecked. WHY and HOW can i toggle the phone contact? Also, backup assistant only takes PHONE contacts and not GOOGLE contacts...while g mail contact sync only takes goggle contacts and NOT PHONE contacts. How can one change phone contact to goggle contact? (i have seen posts all over but no answers...and just replies saying "i have the same problem") I am trying NOT to have two (2) different types of contacts. PHONE and GOOGLE. I just want goggle contacts ( or phone contacts. so i can at least use verizon's backup assistant.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI got an Android device specifically for Google integration, since my employer uses Google for 50% of our work (email, calendar, chat). Yet bizarrely, Android's Gmail app seems to be the weakest point of their platform.
IMHO (and please not let this become some kind of fanboy bashfest of someone trying to put in constructive criticism here):
The "Reply," "Reply All," and "Forward" buttons are very inconvenient -- at the bottom of the message, rather than a toolbar of some kind. This means that when I want to respond to one of those interminable email chains, I have to scroll past wads of old crap to reply. I've had intermittent success with forwarding attachments. It seems unpredictable when an attachment will forward and when it won't. Can someone shed some light into when it works? I suspect it has something to do with Outlook or other clients that attach files in non-standard ways. Very limited offline functionality. I would really prefer if there were an IMAP mode so I can review email while offline (e.g. on the plane or underground). Specific to the Droid: The D-Pad has so much potential, but instead all it does is jump from link to link in an email, which I do not find intuitive at all. At a minimum I'd think that the D-Pad would let you scroll; ideally, I'd like to see the D-Pad help solve the first problem described above (lack of access to the reply and forward buttons) so enough whining from me. I'd appreciate any solutions to the above (and "Shut up and deal with it" is not appreciated). It could be keystroke shortcuts I'm not aware of, apps that work better than the default Gmail program, pending app updates that take advantage of the Droid's unique hardware, etc.
I have been searching and reading through a lot of these posts and I'm sure has probably been mentioned, but I can't find it.
I am coming from the Storm and with one of my email accounts I had to forward emails to someone without an email account. I was able to on the Storm forward it as an mms and they received it on their phone that way.
My question, is there a way to forward my pop3 email as an mms or similar so that I don't have to re-type these emails as sms/mms texts?
Receiving emails fine but all of the sudden, I can't send or forward emails. Sound familiar to anyone?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have done extensive searches for even this question and I have yet to find one.
I Obviously have a Driod Eris, I use ChompSmS for my basic texting needs. (Love the phone BTW) I have had this phone for 3 months, so I am not a noob to it.
Basically I have a few conversations that I would like to forward to say an email address, I know you can forward each individual message, but I would like to do the entire thing. Is there any way to do this? Or is there an APP out there that can do this?
I have an Eris. When someone sends me a picture and I want to save or forward it, I can't seem to figure it out.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using a WebViewClient that overrides shouldOverrideUrlLoading so the browsing stays inside the WebView. I initially call loadDataWithBaseURL with some HTML I have in memory, which has links in it. When I click the links, they load correctly in the webView. Everything is good up till now, but when I press back, effectively calling webView.goBack(), the webView loads the failUrl I passed to loadDataWithBaseURL. Why does it work going forward, but not going backward?
