I am used to being able to take my current position on a map or point to a position and set it as a contact's position. I can't seem to figure out how to do this on the DROID.Even though it is still a bit buggy (beta and all),I love the application, but I have noticed that specific addresses can be off by a block or two.I would like to be able to tell the phone that the correct position of this address is here.

Am I doing something wrong? If I am using Google Maps/Navigator - happily following along as my car wends it's way down the street and I have to exit to say, answer a phone call, look at another app. when I go back into Navigator my destination info is gone. I have to re-enter my destination.

View 16 Replies View RelatedUntil now I had my screen set to auto brightness.First, +1 to those who said in other threads that the screen looks even better when you turn that off and put brightness all the way up.But my question here is why, on auto brightness, the screen sometimes increased or decreased brightness when I was using it. It happened all the time. The only thing I can rule out as the cause was time delay, because sometimes it happened as I was typing or just after, and sometimes it would happen after a delay. I think it must be connected to either orientation, or movement, or brightness sensor detecting the ambient light, or something.If I could figure out how to make it stop doing that I would go back to auto-brightness.

How EXACTLY (and i mean step by step) do i set that up on the Droid 2 so its more accurate? We are always showing at different locations even when we are side by side! My phone shows me in the correct place but his shows him where he was a few hours ago and sometimes just shows a few miles away even when he wasnt there!

View 3 Replies View RelatedHas anyone been able to adjust the amount of rings on their phone? My phone rings about 6 times before it goes to voicemail but my girlfriend's phone rings only 4 times. I brought both numbers over from T-Mobile where they each rang about 4 times but now w/Verizon mine went up to 6. Tried calling tech support about it and they said there wasn't a setting for this on the phone itself and they gave me an answer like some phones just tend to connect to the network faster.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI did the OTA upgrade to 2.1 last week, and noticed that the "click" when typing on the keyboard is really loud now.I notice this mostly when texting, which I do at work, and now it's so loud that everyone around me can hear.So, the question is how to adjust the volume for text input? I can't for the life of me figure out where this setting is. I have looked through all the menus but I guess there is one that I havent found. I also looked in the Handcent app menu and there's nothing in there.Also no adjustment in the standard text program either.

My return date is coming up (extended holiday return period) and I wanted to see if anyone else was having this problem or if it was in fact my phone and I should swap it out. My phone is placing my location in places I haven't traveled to or haven't been to in a long time. It is usually placing me ~200-300 miles away from my current location. I'm in Dallas, TX. Occasionally I'll unlock my phone and the HTC weather widget will say I'm in Dustin, Houston, San Antonio, and even once in Florida. Now, I can go into Google maps and let it find my location and it is very accurate. If I give it time the weather app will correct itself, but then later when I unlock my phone it will have done it again. I've tried using the weather channel app and widget and a few others. They are all having the same problem as they pull the same GPS data. Is this a problem with my GPS chip? I've done a bunch of soft resets, pulled the battery while the phone was off and let it sit for a few, pulled the battery while the phone was on and let it sit. Nothing seems to be helping. I just turned my phone off and back on and sure enough it reports I'm in san Antonio.

When I launch Navigation, I'm given four methods of choosing a location: "Speak Destination", "Type Destination", "Go home", and "Map". Clicking on "Map" brings me to a map view (cool)... which doesn't actually let me select a destination (WTF). Is this bug present only in Jelly Bean? I can't believe it wouldn't have been caught earlier otherwise.
Oh, launching Maps and long-pressing on a point allows me to select it and set it as a destination for Navigation. Ironic that this functionality is missing from Navigation itself.
Is there a fix for this, or is Maps the only way to select a destination by clicking on a map?
I have an Samsung galaxy tab 2 P3113 (rooted) and running CM 10. 4.2.2 JB, I've been trying to download a 6 GB file and it always goes to internal storage (5 GB) so it can't download there, I got an extsdcard (32 GB} and I've tried to direct download it there.. That launches navigation but with destination not found. I tried too to launch:
processName, packageName with startIntent with com.google.android.apps.maps,
com.google.android.apps.maps:driveabout and

with no success too :/
