For people using Launcher Pro have you noticed a flicker on the bottom 1/3rd of the screen? Its only noticeable for me on brighter backgrounds since its a dark gray or black box thats flickering. It seemed to go away after uninstalling Launcher, but I really liked using it so would like to know if theres a fix or at least a confirmation that its happening to others.

This may seem like a dumb question, but I wondered if there was Flickr integration with the Droid X gallery, or whether you need a separate app to upload your photos to Flickr? There are already a bunch of these in the Market. I ask because I remember reading/seeing somewhere that Flicker wasn't included as an option for syncing or uploading, just things like Photobucket, Picasa, etc.The HTC Incredible I have now does upload to Flickr happily (even though it doesn't offer much flexibility), and it'd be no big deal if the Droid X doesn't do it without an extra app, but I thought I'd ask those who already have the phone just in case.

I have paired them together, no problem; however, my phone keeps rebooting when I turn my headset off then back on, and sometimes they don't work when I am making a call. View 1 Replies View RelatedI used Z4root to root my DX. I then installed Rom Manager and Droid X Recovery Bootstrap. I clicked "Bootstrap Reocvery" and then tapped "Reboot Recovery". It rebooted me into ClockworkMod Recovery 2.5.0.6. I made a backup and rebooted my phone. Now my Market wont work, I can't flash anything from Rom Mananger (the latest CW recovery is 2.5.0.7 not 2.5.0.6), my Email won't sync. Things are going haywire! Seems like my data isn't working or something? When I unrooted and unistalled everything, the Market worked again, but the Clockwork Recovery was still on my phone. How is that possible if Droid X Recovery Bootstrap is uninstalled?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI complained before of the phone constantly rebooting itself, however i find with wifi off, it does not constantly reboot, also noticed that i get only 1 signal bar everywhere in my house on wifi, where as on 3g i get almost full bars everywhere. I dont know what this means, since im new to verizon service. Is this normal as far as losing bars depending on wifi or 3g?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've noticed poor call quality ever since I've had a wireless router in the house. I wasn't sure if it was just the phones, or if having so many wireless things is interfering with reception. I haven't had this problem with the home phones in the same room.
Outside, and even in a store with poor cell reception in the back, my droid did what my other phones could not. However, at home near all the computers and wireless madness, the call quality periodically goes south, and I occasionally drop to 1x. Are all of these waves bumping into my phone, or could it simply be the pipes?
I just bought SetCPU last night, and ever since installing it, I've had issues with sending and recieving txt messages, for example, I'll have 3-4 bars of 3G and the txt will either not send out, or if someone sends me a txt, I'll get about 3 all at once from them. Maybe its just how I have setcpu setup, I let the app decide best speed for my phone 900max 250 min, and I set it on interactive at first, then changed it to performance to see if that made a difference with txts.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI removed CityID without making a backup after root(I know dumb), but I was able to find an .apk of it off the net to download but am still getting a assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/app/CityID.apk" error. I am assuming its file permission error, if so, what are the file permissions supposed to be and how do I change them? Or if there is a way I can goto a stock Droid X straight from the factory that would work as well. (I have tried doing the stock factory restore from the phone itself but it fails to re-install CityID).

First off, let me state my phone is rooted, but this problem happened pre root as well. Certain applications, the two I think I've noticed doing it so far, were weather bug, and temp monitor. That have on going notifications, will randomly cause my phone to not turn back on from sleep. I have to do a battery pull just to get the phone back up.

Under the "problems?" tab it talks about Busy Box being an issue and so I installed a know good Busy Box.. which got me farther along than the first 2 attempts, but still.. it rebooted again.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have tried this on 4 Different Roms (Smoked Glass 4, 5, 6 and Nextheme 0.9) And no matter what I do, if I use a custom sound for notifications, the phone upon restart will boot loop indefinitely, and the only way I can make it stop is to VERY quickly slide the mute left so the phone is muted the next time it boots, then it stops, or if I cant get that to work, I have to restore from a nandroid backup. I have the files on my sd card in /media/audio/notifications All lower case (but have tried with a cap) The only things that hasnt changed, is that I have only tried mp3 files. But I also tried, by using the Zedge Ringtones App to the same effect. Whats the deal? Any Ideas?

Edit: Also worth note as it may help, its only notifications that causes this issue, custom ringtones and alarms are fine. Even using the same short (8 second) Mp3 as a ringtone causes no issue. And the mp3 plays in the list of notifications when you select it, as it should. The only thing i can think of is possibly that the phones mp3 decoder loads after the boot up sound? Is that even logical?
I currently running Smoked Glass V6.0.1. I tried updated my google maps to 4.1.1 and I get a invalid signature. According to google mobile help forums I am receiving this error because my build number doesn't match specific build numbers their application is designed to work with.

My droid x signal pretty much always between -92dBm and -87dBm with 1-3 3g bars. My former droid eris would get -92dBm with 1 bar and also drain incredibly fast.
On the droid x, if I go into google maps, the circle of the cell tower appears and the place I live at is half way within the edge of the circle and the other half is outside of the circle. I always seem to be connected to this tower. Bad luck I guess that I'm on the outskirts of the circle.
Does anyone know how cell towers are distributed? Do they overlap sometimes?
I run pandora with the screen off for a half hour with the screen off and my battery is down to 70%. I have about 15% screen brightness and battery saving mode on.
yesterday, I was on meebo for an hour and 45 minutes and it was down to 60% from a full charge.
I just updated my launcher pro beta.. it is now version 18..according to settings applications.so now when i press home it just goes to my original launcher and doesn't even prompt me as to what i want my default to be.i have a milestone and i'm rooted! but help. i hate the stock launcher!

While opening OS monitor and looking at my processes I noticed last night that there were like 6 flicker processes. They weren't currently using any cpu or anything, but why are there 6? And now today I noticed there are 2 running. (after re-start / battery charge)

Step 1:EDIT EDIT EDIT Click the download link and rename .php to .apk.
Step 2 Download the beta on your phone.
Step 3: Go into astro and find the download in your downloads file. Step 4: install and whalah.
It wont let you install it directly from the downloads page for some reason. Dont set as default your first time incase of FC loop.
I have helix launcher(the first one) and I wanted to get 5 screens instead of three so I went to configure it and took off all my widgets like it told me to do. It restarted and I got a FC notification. It's set as my primary home and I can't get the message to stop popping up. I tried restrting my phone several times but before I can press the home button or any button the message pops up again and there is nothing I can do. Is there anything I can do to get past this FC notification?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have been having troubles keeping my launcher (tested both ADW and LP) open in the background while doing most things. Sometimes it will stay open while I switch through a couple apps, but a lot of times I will literally hit the Engadget widget to read one article, 20 seconds later hit home and it will redraw the whole desktop and I wont be able to do anything for 5-10 seconds. It does this a lot. I very rarely have FC's with an error message, probly gotten 1-2 in the past 5 days I have been on this ROM, but it seems like the system has just killed the launcher and it has to reload everything, almost everytime I hit the home button.
There is some general info, here are my questions:
1. Does this happen to everyone and I just need to deal with it or use stock launcher2?
2. I have messed with the memory settings and tried many different combinations, is there one people have found works well with the Droid? Does this make a big difference?
3. Does using the market version of these launchers (which I am) matter? Would it be better to install them some other way, push them somewheres with ADB?
4. Is this a purely memory based issue? I was letting the BB task manager do it's job, problem was happening, then tried Advan. Task Killer with auto-kill on and off, problem still happened.
does anyone have any better icons for launcher pro or adw, i have the droid figure icon pack, but wondering if anyone has made more or acquired some, im almost tempted to make some if i can.
