I just bought this phone off of CraigsList.When I try to launch the camera, whether using the dedicated camera button on the side of the phone or using the icon on the screen, the display goes blank for one second and then goes back to the Home screen.I called Tmobile, and they just had me do a hard reset which didn't have an effect.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThis is more of an annoyance, but whenever I reply to a message off the home screen widget, it automatically defaults to the home number for that contact, instead of replying to the same (cell) number that it was sent from. If I go into the messaging app, it works as it should (replies to the same number).

I would see the wallpaper and the 3 icons on the bottom of the screen (phone, application drawer, and contacts). It'd lag for a bit before things show up. When I say lag, I mean a pretty significant lag.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to edit apn it will not save just go blank on the cliq. I have a t-mobile mytouch and I edit the apn and my att sim works fine. Also I have an old t-mobile sim when I put it in the cliq it shows the old apn, but will not show anything with the att sim. I want to unlock this but I want to know I can use it before I go through that effort.

The application Home (process com.motorola.blur.home) has stopped unexpectedly.
and gives me the Force Quit button.
It usually happens when I'm texting or using the Messaging widget on the home screen and today it has been happening very often!! Starting to get annoying.
First of all. So I picked up my EVO a couple of hours ago. I was messing around with it, and switched the camera to the front one, which has now caused the screen to be blank, just black. None of the buttons function when it's like that, except the home screen. Please let me know if anyone knows anything I can do about it tonight.
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo I have had my Evo for about 2 weeks, and all of a sudden when I am in an app, then hit the home button, I am presented with a blank home screen for sometimes up to 15 seconds then all of my widgets and icons appear. It is actually quite annoying now that it is doing this almost every other time I go back to the home screen. It even happens when I hit the back button sometimes to get back to any one of my 5 home screens.Has anyone else had this issue?
View 9 Replies View RelatedOn the Desire home screen I have a clock with what should be the weather info underneath which is the standard home screen.The weather info is blank apart from the name of a nearby village which i believe is where the nearest phone mast is located. (the picture on the box the phone came shows Barcelona with lots of weather info).If I tap on the blank area next to whe name I get the weather screen opening up with the name of the village where the mast is, and the word "current" in brackets next to it and the info is all showing "0" if I update it the message appears "no weather data available".I can chose another location (various pre loaded or choose Manchester UK by searching ) then choosing my desired location which then shows data.When I return to the main desire home screen the village name is back under the clock with no weather info.I guess the HTC is trying to get the weather data for the mast location nearest my phone as a default setting, I dont know how or if I can override this so that I can have my desired location (ie Manchester uk) wether data showing under the clock on the home page permanently.
View 11 Replies View RelatedYesterday I was listening to Pandora and I wanted to snap a picture with my EVO, so I hit the 'Home' button and then opened the Camera app. After that the little camera icon showed in the middle of the screen for a second or two and disappeared. Next the screen was blank. I also tried the camcorder and the screen was also blank. I've done many resets/pulling the battery out and I still have no luck. Any ideas as to what is causing my camera to not work at all? The only way to exit out of the blank screen is to press the 'Home' button on the phone.
View 18 Replies View RelatedSo last night I went to change my battery and when the phone booted back up, a lot of programs were not installed anymore and I was getting about 3 other programs that were force closing right away when it came on.I tried to reinstall the apps, but I was still getting some force closes and general funny stuff going on.So I factory reset it and started from scratch again today. I got most of my apps reinstalled and thought it was fine. Then just a little while ago, I noticed that I couldn't browse the Internet or use the market. I rebooted and it was fine.A little while later I went to use my phone to make a call and when I unlocked it, all my home screens were blank! Reboot again and that fixed it.

When i hit the capture button, there is a black screen for a good 1/2 second until the captured image appears.
My question is how can i freeze the last image being previewed on the screen while i do the capture work ? I don't mind that the quality of the displayed image is not as good.
If i hit camera.stopPreview() -> that goes into the black screen which i don't want.
I'm running Launcher Pro and only have one home screen.Earlier my phone was locked and I hit the unlock button and there is no unlock puzzle piece. The capacitive buttons don't work, I can't pull down the menu, but the screen is there.So I reboot.It works fine for a few mins but next time when I unlock all the icons are missing from my home screen except the 5 dock buttons.Capacitive buttons are fine, menus work fine, even the app drawer.I went to task manager and killed Launcher Pro and restarted it and everything was back, but I've never had a lick of trouble with it before and suddenly it starts.The only thing I can think of is that a little while ago I went under preferences and hid several of the apps from my app drawer (many of which are on my home screen) but I wouldn't think that would adversely effect function/stability.I've been running LP for over a week and it's not given me a luck of trouble before this, and then two issues in under an hour? Any ideas?

What I really want to do, though, is start a new activity, not display a toast message. I know it has something to do with pending intents, but I can't figure out how to get that to work.
I have a widget that when clicked opens an activity from same app as the widget. When the activity is closed/dismissed via a button, the user will see the full app window IF the app was previously open/in memory. Is there a way for the activity to finish and return to the home screen and not to an existing instance of the app?

[Droid X 2.2 No Root] For some reason sometimes when I'm using the camera or when I try to launch the camera, It fails. For example, I try to open a black screen flashes or the camera opens for a moment and closes. Sometimes it works, others it refuses to even after all running apps are closed, the phone restarted, and after a battery pull. This is not a shutter stick problem.

I have a .PDF I would like to put possibly on one of my home screens as a shortcut. I plugged my Cliq into my computer and put the document in the memory card, but can't navigate to it through the phone. The only way I can find this file is if I open up Beamreader.
When I use my camera, camcorder, or just open up picture gallery or vid my phone will just restart, no clue why. I told tmobile that and she said it could be my SIM so I get a new one and that doesn't help. I'm about ready to call them and get a new one through my warranty.

Plus, I've searched AppBrain using many parameters to no avail.So, that little disclaimer out of the way....I have a DX. My last device was the original Droid. After the upgrade to Froyo on my original Droid, I noticed two really cool and, for me, useful dock functions that do not work with the Froyo upgrade on my DX. Original Droid (w/Froyo): When I would put the Droid in the car dock, there was a nice little icon that said EXIT. Meaning it would go out of car dock completely when you touched it. Even the icon in the top bar would go away. Also, when I hit the home button, say out of Navigation, it would take me to my regular home, vice back to the car dock home. I LOVED this, as I dislike and do not use the car dock mode ever. This icon is non-existent on the Froyo car dock mode on my DX. Next. Again, original Droid (w/Froyo. and I state this because with Eclair, these functions were not there): When plugged in for the night, I would touch my Retro Clock app widget, and (I don't know why, it just did) it would launch the Home Dock screen. (with weather, music icon, etc...) Now this I LOVED also, as I could set my alarm, check the weather where I was at, and even get some news headlines before going to sleep. Plus, it would then go into screen saver mode, dimming the screen nicely. I would like very much to get this kind of functionality back in both instances. Does anyone have any ideas for apps that would kill the car dock mode completely, either permanently, or at least every time I put it in the car dock?And is there some way to launch the home dock mode while in the car dock?I am a truck driver, and the car dock is where I put my X to charge at night.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have seen this buried within a couple of other threads, and thought it was worth starting a new thread on this issue, since I suspect it is getting more common. The issue is immediately when placing or receiving calls the screen goes blank, and locks up. I can not press the bottom on top right to wake it up. The only thing that wakes it up, is to open it to the keyboard. This started yesterday, I called Verizon and was transferred to Technical Support, Technical support tried to blame it on a Battery widget that I installed several days earlier. I told her my sister has had it on her Droid for months with no problems, she said I probably had a bad version. Even though I was not convinced, I removed the widget from my phone to test the fix, but it still died. Then she told me to hard reset, and again I was not convinced, so I took it in to a Verizon store, after 5 minutes the Technician decided to give a me new phone. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I've recently started using the camera and noticed that it will abruptly close on me - no force close message or anything - just back to the Home screen. A reboot seems to fix it for a few snaps, then the same again.
