Oct 22, 2010Are you kidding me? My Evo..no dust..My Incredible..no dust.. My Brand Spanking new Droid X..DUST UNDER THE SCREEN..WTF! I'd expect this on my old blackberry 8300, but a Moto/VZW Flagship Android device..Come on!

Now this is really the only problem I have with my droid, so I was wondering if its even worth exchaning for another one or will it just happen again as long as its pocketed? Did motorola fix this problem by chance with newer models?

Nov 12, 2009My droid is in the 3909 batch, and so far I've had no software problems. However, there are now a few pieces of dust that have found their way under the screen, around the edges. I keep my phone in my pocket, which I make sure I clean out every day. Is this normal, or is it something that I should exchange the phone for? I'm worried that if it's happened within the first week, it will continue to get worse.

Jul 16, 2010Crap, looking at my x this morning in direct sunlight i can see 3 specs of dust under the screen! what should i do? Anyone else here with the same problem? I didn't see that yesterday when i got the phone. The dust is not visible when you turn the screen on but just knowing is there is bugging me.

Nov 11, 2009There is a spec of dust along the left side of the screen about 1" up. Its definatly under the glass and annoying as shit. Also the metal on the frame is so dense that it has 3 small and i mean SMALL pits in the metal.... How is this even possible? I use my iPhone as a coaster for the Droid and it sits in my pocket glass out... They are definatly pitted indentions in the metal as you can run your fingernail across them and feel it. Any ideas if I can go into verizon store to get a replacement for the spec under the glass? I bought it online launch day and have only had it since monday.

Jul 22, 2010note: this is an artist rendition because my digital camera is terrible and i couldn't figure out how to get the dust in the shot. but it looks just like this. it's a black speck under the screen that can only be seen on bright surfaces and only if you are looking at the screen head on. i'm not sure if it might be a dead pixel. i can certainly live with this problem although i'd prefer if it wasn't there.
1. is this a dead pixel or dust?
2. how do i fix this, can i just exchange it at the vzw store whenever they stop being sold out?

My aunt had the phone for a day and sure enough some how she cracked the screen phone still works great touch screen fine picture fine just cracked glass. I'm not talking about inward and outward, but rather up and down on the vertical y-axis like from the ear speaker at the top to the mouth mic at the bottom. And I'm only talking about a millimeter of very slight movement if you hold your thumb down firmly or grab it with two fingers and try to move it.

Motorola CLIQ :: End Call Button Not Working / Screen Has Gone Black
Dec 11, 2009I'm having trouble with one thing on the Cliq - hanging up calls. Since the end call button is on the screen, 2 things keep happening:
- I hang up on someone by mistake, because my cheek touches the button while I'm talking
- By the time I am done talking, the screen has gone black, so I have to hit the menu button to turn the screen back on.. but that takes me back to the home screen, so I have to navigate through to get back to my call and hang up!
Is there some sort of setting or app that could change the end call button to a hard key, like the back button, so we can hang up that way? It would be a tremendous help!

Jan 8, 2010I installed spare parts and my screen goes in circles now when it switches to landscape it just swings untill it stops before it will completly open the page. So I un-installed the app amd still the issue is there . I have tried everything I can think of other than a master reset.

Jan 14, 2010I am using an unlocked Cliq on AT&T network. All my data works fine, but I'm having trouble with text messages. Normal texts come and go fine it seems, but I'm unable to send picture messages. I assume I'm also unable to receive picture messages, though I haven't specifically tested that. The bigger problem is a random text I keep getting. It comes from 11-216-116-11, and always says the same thing, "error invalid number please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code." They always come in threes, and I always get them when I reboot the phone or sometimes they come randomly. Can anybody help with these issues?

You really have to look to notice it, but once you know it's there it is rather annoying. I just wanted to see how many suffer from this problem on their Desire. In order to check properly, your phone needs to be off or in standby mode. Wipe away all excess dust on the screen and look very carefully. Post your findings in this thread and vote in the poll.
