Media :: Android Music Player Won't Show Downloaded Podcasts

Apr 20, 2010

On my HTC Legend, when I download podcasts using Listen, BeyondPod, or Dpod, the downloaded .mp3 files are not visible on the android music player widget. Nor are they visible on btunes, even if I enable the audio books/podcasts features on btunes and hard-set the sdfolder path to where the .mp3 files are stored. On the music widget, I do see an empty "podcasts" playlist, but if I tell it to update, I get a "force close" error. Any ideas?

Media :: Best Media Player For Long Running Podcasts

Sep 22, 2010

I listen to podcasts and recorded shows that can go on for several hours. I'm looking for a media player with a "skip to" function, so if I get interrupted, I don't have to fiddle with my finger on a slider to find the right section. I just enter "1:33" or whatever and the player goes to that location. Neither the stock media player nor mixzing support that (that I can see). I don't need full RSS support, automatic downloading, I just want a media player that I can skip to a particular spot in a track by specifying the time.

Media :: Why Do All Music Player Applications Show Tracks In Wrong Order?

Jul 22, 2010

I have tried the default music player that is installed with the Droid-X. I've also bought the bTunes player and installed the MixZing player (free version). What is wrong that, by default, all list the tracks of an album in alphabetical order? At least bTunes will let you optionally sort by original track order (although the way given by bTunes is counter-intuitive and you have to start playing a track before you can sort).

By default, all albums should display in original track order. I suppose that for those who have difficulty reading, perhaps an option to list tracks in alphabetical order might be in order for ADA compliance or something. Otherwise, when I browse one of my albums, I want to see it in the order that the original artist intended.

Also, if I move them manually they get mixed in with all the music. Is there a media player that will separate them out based. On the podcast tag?

Media :: Synching Music Using Windows Media Player

Jun 16, 2010

After hours of hit and miss using programs like Double Twist etc. I found that the easiest way to sync music to the iHTC Music player is to use Windows Media Player and buy Album Art Grabber to load the album art. Once you have done the initial sync with WMP you can go back and load individual albums simply by dragging them to the sync area. Connect your phone to the PC and unmount the SD card Open WMP and click the sync tab. Click the drive that represents your SD card (mine was H You will be prompted to sync everything for either this session or all sessions. (I always click this session only). Works great and all I will need in the future!

Media :: Media Player On Hero Not Recognizing All Music

Dec 22, 2009

I've got a ton of music on my SD card in my phone, approx. 6.5GB worth on an 8GB card. The problem is, the music players in Android (I've used the default, RockOn and MixZing, though I want to stay with MixZing) only recognize about 80% of the music, in their libraries. The thing is, the music is there! If I browse to the folder and launch the file it will play, but there's no artist/title data, even though all the files are properly tagged (mp3s), plus, it opens in a weird verion of the default music player that will stop playing if it loses focus.

This has been a issue ever since I got this phone. It's a brand new SD card (my previous one, in addition to this problem, had major corruption issues; I originally thought it was the card but I guess that's not the case). Also, I've gone through two different ROMs (one when I first got the phone, and a second that I upgraded to about a month ago), so I don't think that's the issue. It seems to affect random folders (albums) at different times, whenever the library is refreshed, but I can't refresh the library manually (that I've found) to see if it's just not scanning those files, or if it's a more underlying issue. I'm stumped

Android :: 3 Music Player Rockon Songs Don't Show Up

Jun 18, 2010

Not sure who's using "3" by rockon, but I've just downloaded it lastnight to test it out and for some reason a few of my songs which were downloaded by limewire don't show up in the list of songs. does it have to do with the way they're saved in the music folder? because the songs that have their own folder in my music folder come up great but ones that i've ripped off cds or downloaded as one offs on limewire don't seem to show up in the list of songs available? If you do'nt get what i mean heres a visual.. all the songs with thier own folders can be found on the "3" app but the ones below that don't have a folder don't show up. Is there something i need to do with them? rename them in teh properties or something?

Media :: Music Manager And Music Player App

Aug 9, 2010

I've been using the standard media player on my Nexus one since I've gotten it, only loaded music once using simple copy and paste method on the folder level. Problem is I've gotten new music (alot) and I can no longer fit it all on my nexus one.

Before someone mentions it, I've tried using DoubleTwist and I'm not a fan, I've had issues with slow syncing, duplicates, and as a music manager I can't determine the total size of the media I want to sync, can't choose more than all or selected playlists, no artist selections, I can't edit the file tags within the application, and some music isn't removed when I try to remove it from my library (not move to trash)... Overall I'm very unsatisfied.

Needless to say I'm looking for something else to use, something that allows me to rate my music both on the desktop and on my nexus one...and that those ratings actually sync on... this will allow me to determine what I Listen to and thus only transfer that over to my N1.

Android :: Hiding Media Files From Music Player

Apr 27, 2009

I'm torn between which group to post this too, but since it is for an application I am working on, I guess I'll stick it here. So here we go. I have an application which downloads data onto the sdcard to be used by the application. Some of these files are sound or music files and the music player in android seems to parse these directories and add these files to the list. I'd like to somehow block or hide these files from the music player. Is there is a way to do this? I was thinking it may be possible to name my folder with a period at the beginning, since linux hides such files. I'm just not sure if that is going to hide it from the music player or if there is another way to handle this.

HTC Incredible :: How Do I Get My Music Player To Show All My Songs On My SD Card?

May 6, 2010

I uploaded 100 songs to my SD card from my PC. When I opened the music player app in the phone, it shows all 100 songs. So I opened up the songs list, picked a song and it played just fine. After the song I hit the forward button to play the next song (next song of the 100 that I had on there) and it played the same song again. So upon looking at the music player it now showed "1/1" at the top, instead of "1/100". It's like it's locked on that 1 song. If I go into the menu I can see all my songs, and I can choose/play them individually, but I can't have all 100 songs chosen, so that they'll just play one after the other. How do I make the music player show all 100 songs again? I just want to open up the music player, hit play, and sit back & enjoy the next 100 songs playing one after the other. I don't want to have to select each one individually to play. (Hopefully this wasn't too confusing).

Motorola Milestone :: Music Player Does Not Show All Songs

Jan 14, 2010

I've bought a Milestone and after the first contact with him, copied some musics to a folder on SD card. The problem is: some songs does not appear on the player. Some musics do, some musics does not. I tried several players (Meridian, RockOn, TuneWiki) to see if this was an issue with the default player, but all of them showed the same problemI also thought that this could be a problem with the ID tags of the MP3 files that didn't show, so i checked every one with a MP3 tag editor and fixed some, but to no avail: the files still doesn't show on the list.Just one more detail: if I go to a file manager and "execute" the MP3 file, the music plays just correctly.Dows anyone has experienced some behavior like this, or I'm doing something wrong? Is there a way to add all files on a folder to a playlist without going one by one on a file manager?
