Just got this LG Eve for my gf, wondering, if anyone can help with this dillema, Every a text message is received it only shows a tiny little blurb on the status bar notification....is it possible to have a large main display of the text message, int stead of that little crappy notification///something like the iphone has when a text happens, Please help android people, THX Joel

im following the tutorial from developers guide but i have a problem tutorial says: "To clear the status bar notification when the user selects it from the Notifications window, add the "FLAG_AUTO_CANCEL" flag to your Notification object" buT how i can add the flag to my notification?notification doesn't have any kind of function to add flags then? how i can do it?

But later if I show another notification to replace this one, with no number, it shows an empty red circle. This circle shouldn't be there. How do I remove the red circle? View 1 Replies View RelatedDon't know what I'm doing wrong but I can't seem to open the notification panel by long-pressing the status bar and dragging down, which I understand is how it should be done. Whenever I do this it either wants to remove the widget, or it brings up the "Add to Home" screen. I can still get to the notifications panel by choosing Menu then Notifications from the home screen, but can't understand why I can't get it the normal way.

Does anyone know if there is a way to group a notification in the status bar but not in the list of notifications? I want to show only one icon in the status bar but when the user drags down the "notifications list" it should be several notifications with different intents. As I understood there is only possible to either group both notifications on both places or to create several notifications which will cause several notifications in the status bar.

I get way too much email to have it play a sound every time one comes in, but I do still want to be able to see at a glance when I have new messages I've figured out how to change the ringtone, but there's no option to use no ringtone at all. I'm hoping there's a better solution than recording a blank ringtone!

But it did not work. When I give 0 as icon to the constructor, the icon disappears but notification also does not appear in the expanded view.
Notification notification = new Notification(0, "", 0); I tried a lot of combinations but didn't come out with a solution. By the way, I know it is working because I saw this feature in some apps. Thanks.
I updated my Droid 2 last night to v4.5.621 and now my status/notification bar is gone. I have not found where to cut it back on.

Like: John Doe Hey how's it going. Right now it only shows "New email" and I have to touch it to go to that inbox. I also really liked how on my blackberry all of my e-mail accounts (gmail, and exchange) was in one inbox.
