I updated my Droid 2 last night to v4.5.621 and now my status/notification bar is gone. I have not found where to cut it back on.
I keep getting an alert that "40349940.jpg" had downloaded but I never prompted this to happen,. What's worse it keep reappearing whenever I erase the notification either every 5 minutes or in 5 seconds. I have discovered that it's not appearing when I put the phone in airplane mode so something is trying to be downloaded, but I can't stop it what what I've tried (restarting the phone, clearing the cashe, etc.)

I started getting a notification that seems to come from the official app (I long tapped, and checked the notification info), but this "update" apparently needs to be side loaded onto the system instead of installed through the Play Store. View 9 Replies View RelatedIf you're running my rom and would like to add some different statusbar icons to your screen, I threw together an update for you.
I made these icons for me, so you may or may not like them. GPS, signal strength, 3g, battery, and a few other icons were changed.
There's no update to remove the icons, so do a nandroid backup before you install them incase you don't like them, then you can easily restore your default icons if you don't like the update.
Here's a screenshot.
Installation: Copy icons-update.zip to your sdcard. Reboot your phone into recovery mode. Select Flash Zip from Sdcard. Choose icons-update.zip.
Remember, do a nand backup first!
Download: icons-update.zip
I wouldn't recommend applying this update to any ROM other than mine, as other ROM's might have modified framework files themselves, and this would overwrite their stuff.
My status bar has a "clear" word in clear button And i want my settings shortcut is in center of it and i want to add a recent app shorcut there

Is there any possibility to keep the status / notification bar ALWAYS visible (for fullscreen apps for example)
I'm not searching for an app which can make the bar visible if i do a gesture or anything else in a full screen app
Just keeping the notification bar always visible is my request
I'm using I9000 (SGS) with 4.2.2 AOKP
Changing the sms notification in the status bar. I am unable to get to a personal computer at the moment?
Below is my mms app, and the icon I would like it changed to, (I would do it but I do not have a working computer at the moment.)
Any mod or app that allows the notification/status bar be visible all the time throughout any app? I dont mind loosing that few bits of screen.
View 3 Replies View Relateddo you know what app/widget that is on the left? Maybe, do you know similar apps that can show all kinds of notifications on homescreen (not lockscreen)?
The screenshot was on Simple Calendar Widget but it has to be another app.
Is there an application that will force your incoming calls to only show in the status bar instead of interrupting your current session? I have seen a video showing what I'm looking for but it was an iPhone app for unlocked devices.
View 1 Replies View RelatedGot my HTC Desire Z flashed to CM10.1 and have some tweaked but after I take two optimized commands into the file
/system/etc/init.d/00banner
Commands are about to boost up the reading speed of SDcard, type like
/system/xbin/echo "4096" > /sys/devices/virtual/bdi/179:0/read_ahead_kb;
/system/xbin/echo "4096" > /sys/devices/virtual/bdi/default/read_ahead_kb;
Actually I modified these files with RecoveryFileManager at first but I found that was failed after I reboot the device, so I just type these commands into the init.d, but after that, I just find my status bar and notification bar was lost and disappeared, not only home screen but also all around the surface in the system.
Is there something that replicates this feature?: changing a notifications priority/or hiding the notification icon from the status bar.
I know that you can permanently hide all notifications of an app via app info, but what I am looking for is something that will allow me to only hide any icon from the status bar, but the notification will still be there when I pull down the notification shade.
I currently use a ROM that has this feature, and I have yet to find it implemented in any other way or through any other ROM. I would love to go back to stock or an AOSP rom and use only Xposed modules, but this is the only thing that is stopping me. This feature is absolutely vital in my opinion in my everyday use.
You can see this feature in the screenshot below. When I long press any notification when I select the Hide status bar apps notification icon, the icon will not show up. As if it either replaces it (which I believe it does with a transparent dot) or just as useful would be to change the priority of the notification to low.
This just amazes me that I can't find anything else that does this. I'm hoping there is some type of xposed module that can replicate this feature, or anything really. If only i could find the code in the source of the rom myself to compile it into stock or something... Nexus 5
I really like the droid a lot, it is much faster than my blackberry storm. Is there anyway to get the notifications to show mail header information such as: Name, Subject? Like: John Doe Hey how's it going. Right now it only shows "New email" and I have to touch it to go to that inbox. I also really liked how on my blackberry all of my e-mail accounts (gmail, and exchange) was in one inbox.

View 1 Replies View RelatedDon't know what I'm doing wrong but I can't seem to open the notification panel by long-pressing the status bar and dragging down, which I understand is how it should be done. Whenever I do this it either wants to remove the widget, or it brings up the "Add to Home" screen. I can still get to the notifications panel by choosing Menu then Notifications from the home screen, but can't understand why I can't get it the normal way.
