I'm new to the droid forums. coming over from bbforums. Can someone tell me how do I insure that photos and music go to the sd card and not the phone memory. I cant seem to find the route to get it done.

Ho do i save photos i have received via mms onto my memory card. i do not see an option to do so.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought a 16gb Class 6 card to replace the 8gb card that came with the EVO. I put some music/photos from my PC onto the new card and stuck it in the EVO. Everything seemed to go ok, but when I went to use the camera, it showed a black screen with what i think was a pic of an SD card for about a second then just closed the camera app and went to the home screen. Was I supposed to copy anything from the old card to the new one or do anything else before I switched? I just put the stock 8gb card back in the EVO for now until I figure out what I'm supposed to do.
View 10 Replies View RelatedJust got my Droid 2 FedEx today, and am getting her all set up. I was using an LG Dare before. I had an micro 2GB card that had all my pictures, music, videos and contact photos (picture ID pictures).
It was easy going from an old Verizon phone to another old Verizon phone because the file structure was the same for all the SD formatted cards (MY_PIX, MY_FLIX, etc...).
In looking at the 8GB card that came w/ the Droid 2, there seems to be no such structure. There are directories, (.android_secure, Android, logs, and LOST.DIR) but I am not sure where to put my videos, pictures, etc. Any thoughts?

I was a self confessed iphone lover.. But a few days ago curiosity got me and I decided to get a Galaxy S3.
I can't say how much a love this phone and am a bit ashamed that I didn't realize how great android devices were. So far I have been able to find out on my own how to do pretty much everything I needed done except for one thing.
I work in music hence have a lot of music on my phone. I didn't want to restart the cataloging process of recreating playlist after playlist. So i found a solution to transfer my itunes to my phone.
I did this with Air Sync and DoubleTwist. The main problem I have is it put all of my music on my internal memory card and now it is full. I have a 32gb external SD card that is empty right now and was wondering if there is a solution to quickly transfer all of my music from the internal memory to the SD card. Furthermore I would like for the air sync / doubleTwist software to put all future music on the SD card as well.
Can you do that without connecting to a computer? My computer is being repaired and I have no more memory in the sd card. Can it be done or should I buy another one for now?
View 3 Replies View RelatedNot had my desire long but down loaded a few apps for it they all seem to be stored on phone memory not the sd card. what is stored to the sd card seems to be unused so far. do you have to set it up to use sd card or does it know one is fitted. does it switch to sd card when phone memory full. will run out of space soon if can't get things to store to card instead of phone mem.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I plugged my new Captivate into my PC (Windows 7 64-bit) and the Captivate says it's connected, but the PC shows no signs of it being connected. I called SAmsung support, and from what I could understand of what the "tech" told me, this is a bug, and there's no way for a PC to recognize the Captivate unless there's a memory card installed. is this correct? Once a 16GB memory card is installed, do you have 64-GB of storage space you can use for music, etc?
This seems like a mammoth problem - do they have any timeframe for a fix for this? Or is the "tech" incorrect? I can't believe I just bought a brand new "Smartphone" to replace my old mobile phone and MP3 player, and I can't copy files to it. Help!
Should Samsung Kies be selected as the USB setting? That's the default.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi have a kyocera hydro. i took my 8gb sd card from my old phone, deleted a few things from it that i didnt see a use in having on there (don't ask me what exactly, i dont remember now), and tried to simply put my pictures and music back onto the sd card to have in the hydro.
the folders listed on the card are as follows: .android_secure, Android, fastnote, LOST.DIR, and smvvm. the phone wont recognize my photos or music. i tried putting the music files in numerous places on the card to see if they'd be found, to no avail. i'm not sure if i deleted something i need on there, if i can get that back if that's the case.
Is there an application that will allow you to browse to a folder on your phone/SD care and view the photos inside? If it were on a linux PC I would be installing GThumb, on windows ACDSEE. I have tried Photo Burst. It crashes and I had to reset the phone. I have tried Picture Viewer but the latest version does not pan at all. The only way to do something like this with the stock viewer is to have all your photos in the root of the sdcard in folders or within download. Not really the neatest way of doing this.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have 10.000+ text messages (sms) om my old phone that I would like to get into my gmail account using the SMS Backup app. So far I have managed - with superb assistance from Boni2K - to get them exported from the old software i had them in (MyPhoneExplorer) as an xml-file that the SMS Backup and Restore app can read.
Problem now is that the SMS Backup and Restore will restore them to the SD-card (it is indicated with a small SD-icon next to the restored messages), and the SMS Backup app only backs up messages from phone memory to GMail. Can I move the restored messages from the SD card memory to the Phone memory?.............
Is there a memorycard reader that you can olug into the usb-port on the HTC Hero phone? Lets say you are at holiday and all your friends has taken pictures with their digital cameras, you want the pictures. You take your small meorycard reader, plug the memory card from your friends camera into the reader and the reader into your phone and then copy over all the pictures.
