HTC Incredible :: Headphones Switching To Headset Randomly
Nov 20, 2010On my phone whenever I use the music player or Pandora or anything with music, and I plug in my headphones it messes up. It'll work normal and then all of a sudden itll switch to a headset icon and the music messes up. I have to take out the headphones and plug them back in, and on Pandora I have to switch songs also. I've tried 3 sets of headphones and even a pair of speakers. Tried search, didn't find anything.

Oct 13, 2009I had a problem on my first HTC Hero where after a while, when I unplugged my headphones - e.g. after listening to music, it would go into headset mode. i.e. Although no headset or headphones were attached, the Headset Icon would appear and you couldn't hear anything through the inbuilt speaker and the inbuilt microphone would not work. I got orange to send me a replacement and now the same is happening. I have to reboot the phone to get it to work.
Further info:
- I'm using a set of sennheisser headphones, have tried another third party set and the same thing seems to happen.
- have installed the headset on/off widget but even when turning the phantom headset off via this, the speaker does not always work. Don't know what happens to the
- loudspeaker mode works but then switching this off doesn't guarantee the inbuilt speak/microphone will start working
- never used a bluetooth headset
- have updated the ROM to the new faster version, but this problem happened on my original phone with the older version too.
I wonder if this is a related issue to that some people have experienced where there headset does not work - as I say I'm not using one - but it seems perhaps the software or physical headphone/headset detection in the minijack socket is dodgy?

I was almost shocked to see that they STILL haven't added the 'auto fit messages' option like Gmail has. How can Android be so far along and still not have this extremely basic option? I know a few 3rd party email clients support this, but it seems crazy to me that they didn't do this.

Nov 1, 2010I have noticed that when I have my headphones plugged in (but not in my ears) and the phone rings, the ring tone comes out of both (the phone and the headphones, which is fine) but it is not as loud out of the phone as when the headphones out not plugged in. If I pull the headphones out while its ringing the phone starts ringing almost twice as loud. Anyone know how I can make sure the phone will ring at full volume for those times when I forget to take my headphones out and put everything in pocket?

Apr 14, 2010Is it possible to change the headset and still use fm-radio? I really need to use in-ear headset, just cant bare with the other one, my ear hurt like hell after a while. The headset with the samsung galaxy i7500 was perfect, could use them all day with no problems. I know i can use webradio but i havent had to good experience of webradio so far, still think fm-radio perform flawless for the most part.

Dec 8, 2013Since the time I have upgraded to KitKat- I have been facing the issue of Call History. Every Time I miss a Call and I click on the name/number- Its asks me to select a default option of whoch way to open that entry , that is, through Dialer or through History. I tried selecting history and clicked on the "always use this option" but the same thing kept happening every time. After a few tries, I chose the other option and did the same thing and it again kept appearing... It looks like there's a bug in this and it never really saves my preference.

When i was in the stock gallery app i noticed a button called "change player" when i hit it.. all of a sudden netflix stopped and my picture was displayed on the screen of my tv.. I assume it is some sort of DLNA stuff. But how can it do this when i have DLNA sharing off in settings? I want to know how to disable this feature..and/or what its using to broadcast.

Mar 14, 2014When I go to change or assign a contact photo, I'm prompted like always to crop the photo I've selected. Once the crop is made and I hit done, an error message at the bottom is posted. "Edited photo can't be saved" and the photo is not assigned. This is something new that has just developed recently and seems to be specific to 4.4.2 on my 2 different Nexus devices.The only work around is to change the photo through gmail on my PC.
