Has anyone got this to work yet? I installed it yesterday but I can't seem to get it working. I can change all the options etc. but when a keyboard comes up it's the normal one and there is no option to change to swype. I Installed this version: Swype_1.60.36.8214.apk

Just got my captivate, but I cant figure it out! I hit the button in bottom left that looks like a gear and I have 4 options - but none are swype. I cant figure it out.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a swype available that allows for the double tap edit option when in portrait mode? To me, this is the only thing that could make swype better. I am currently running 1.56 that doesn't expire. I tried 1.6, but unfortunately this option is not available.

But on the epic the Swype keyboard had a darker color palette that I liked much better. I couldn't find anyway to change this on my droids Sywpe settings, is it even possible? When i was in the stock gallery app i noticed a button called "change player" when i hit it.. all of a sudden netflix stopped and my picture was displayed on the screen of my tv.. I assume it is some sort of DLNA stuff. But how can it do this when i have DLNA sharing off in settings? I want to know how to disable this feature..and/or what its using to broadcast.

Before doing so I changed the default system sound to that droplet sound (in the normal settings view, no root, nothing special with this phone) but now I've upgraded the 'normal' setting to change 'system sound' has gone. Have they really just scrapped that option?

i had it a long time ago and i forgot which one it is , i tried several of them but none have this option. please if anybody remembers then lemme know, its for an older person, they cant qwerty.
So awhile back I changed my google account password by logging onto my home computer. Now when I try and check emails from my captivate it says invalid user name or password. When I try to go to setting it doesn't giver me the option to change password for the phone. Has anyone else had this problem?

On my old HTC HD Touch you were able to set it up the way that it will block my caller ID for anyone that is not in my contact list. I can't seem to find this option on a Desire. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the option to get a Black HTC Desire or the Brown one. Both are the same price, but the Black one is Orange branded, while the Brown is a factory unlocked version with no branding.
The Black one does look better in my opinion but is it worth it with the issues that arise when updating software (phone locked, wifi issues) when it seems to me the factory setting one will be easier to root and update?

i have been reading a heap of old posts trying to get up to speed on Android so if a few of my posts seem vague, please excuse them as android is still very new to me. Love the site and so far I have found a heap of good info.
I have done a search on this site and a few others in the hope of finding out a problem I have with SWYPE on my DHD.
I have auto spacing selected but when typing a sms using SWYPE, no spaces are automatically placed in between words. However when I use the SWYPE keyboard for entering in a calendar entry, spaces are automatically defaulted between words.
The version i am using is 2.4.44.10912 (has English language) and there appears to be a red circle on the space button for the message SWYPE keyboard but the red circle is not present on keyboard when I am entering in a calendar item.
I have uninstalled SWYPE and re-installed, but the issue is still present. Any ideas?

1) Do sms reports work well? Is there an option for notification when a message is delivered? Is the delivery report icon next to the message different when undelivered and delivered?
2) Can vCards sent via SMS be imported into the contact book easily? Does the import function really work?
3) Changing a contact's Display name: The same contact may have different names for different accounts, such as his face book profile, google profile, and how I've saved it in my phone. I know I can select any one of these to be displayed in my people app and for dialing, but does it stay that way? Presently the name keeps changing back to default and it's so damn frustrating.
4) Do face book profile pics in the contacts update on their own while syncing?
5) Can I change the password of my face book and gmail account in the phone's account settings?
6) Does the notification LED blink continuously if there's a notification, rather than give up after a few minutes?
7) Has shutdown speed improved?
