My phone samsung S4 GT-I9505 connect to kies3, but i open the Kies 3.0 the sync tab and contact tab which was the key functionality has now disappeared!

I just upgraded my Samsung S4 I9505 to android 4.3. I having quite a lot of issue. My ringtone never change, always use system ringtone. Same goes to Notification. I found out my phone always hang for few seconds, the screen stuck. This all happen after i upgraded.

I am returning the phone tomorrow because Microsoft forces the user to sync contacts, calendar, and documents if the user wants to download apps. I find this a huge privacy invasion. What a shame Microsoft doesn't give me q choice to disable this syncing.
so, before I waste even more money...does Android allow me to download apps AND disable syncing of phone contacts, cal, pictures, etc?I will return this phone anway and NEVER own a smartphone.
Last week I purchased a new Note 2 (which I love!) and one of the first things I did was to sync with my Google account and get my Google contacts installed back on the phone. Second thing was to install the Facebook app and sync my Google contacts with their appropriate FB profile photos, account info from Facebook. However, upon telling Facebook to sync with currently existing contacts, I noticed that my Contacts list was now populated with *ALL* of my facebook friends.
Previously on my Evo 4G running Gingerbread 2.3.5, this worked perfectly. My Google contacts were the only contacts listed but their FB profile data showed up just fine. I seen there were some 3rd party apps on the Play Store that will do this, but I'm wondering if there is a way to do it with just the original FB app.
I am using a locally made make of phone called a Firefly. My last phone was a samsung, which was way too small and too slow.
When I first added my google account to my andoid phone, I thought nothing of it syncing the contacts. I did not realize that google had kindly created a contact for every single person I had ever emailed in my entire life. For most people, I am sure that this is quite an accurate list, but I manage a business, so I get lots of emails from people and systems that I never need on my phone.
When I first noticed this, I disabled syncing of contacts and manually removed all the contacts from my phonebook. This left me with a nice neat list of contacts. Great. But... When I go to send a text message and add a recipient, I am displayed with a gigantic list of thousands of contacts, most of whom are email addresses and at least 98% of whom are people I would never ever want to send a text message to.
I have searched everywhere, but can not find any way to access this contact list within my phone so I can clean it. The only solution I have been able to find is to first delete all contacts from google, then enable sync, then disable sync after it completes. This is really not ideal as I need these contacts in my google account, but not on my phone.
I'm using the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 on 4.2.2 with Nova Launcher and just recently after disabling apps, etc. my Video player app no longer opens. I press it and it freezes for 15 seconds and says unfortunately it has stopped working. On top of that every time I delete a contact, it deletes the contact but gives me a message like "android.process.acore" had stopped working and exits the contacts app.
I've tried enabling any potential function that I may have disabled to have that issue and no luck. I also cleared cache and data of the contacts list and contacts storage but no luck. I honestly do not want to format data as I have already done it 3 times prior to this issue and it is tedious. EDIT: Fixed video player by enabling picasa uploader and cloud Agent. Still no luck with the error message after deleting contact.
I had to have a factory reset done on my phone.. ALL my pictures are on an SD card and now quite a few have disappeared!!! What the heck??? There's pics on there from December earlier but anything from this year are gone! How does this happen if they were on an SD card?!

I see the Facebook app in system, I can update it and start it from a third party (e.g. Play Store) but am unable to find the app itself and make shortcuts for it. I tried uninstalling (it does so only with the updates, it won't erase the app itself because it is integrated with the Jelly Bean), reinstalling (again, only applies to the updates), trying to find its shortcuts in home screens and main menu.
I am just a step away from master reset.
I've got a Chinese phone Pomp W89 and I wanted to put a custom rom on it, I tried to install cwm and twrp but I've found out they don't support my device, so I went on needrom and found a recovery file for my phone which I downloaded and used rom manager to flash.
But I've then worked out the file was corrupted and since then I can't get into recovery mode the phone just showed a brief white screen then boots up normally, it does say recovery mode at the bottom but never goes into it, I then found a complete recovery file for my phone and flashed that but the same thing happens without the brief white screen just a black one then it boots up normally.
I've tried cwm to flash and several other programs and I also then tried the terminal emulator to flash which I think was successful but the exact same thing happens, I just don't understand if the new recovery.img has been flashed why would nothing change? There was already a recovery.img on the phone which I kept a copy of and that makes no difference either.
I was going to flash using my computer but I have windows 8 and can't get the usb drivers to install for the phone.
Trying to get ready for the 2.2 update. Running into a major snag - on my phone (under USB settings), there is no option for "Kies mode." All I see are mass storage and media sync... Nothing else.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got a new AT&T Radiant (aka ZTE Z740). I had it for a few days while I waited for a SIM card to come in the mail, installed one app, and just got a feel for how it worked on wifi. (I've never had an Android or any smart phone before). Last night after activating the phone and setting up the data connection with Consumer Cellular, I noticed that the Chrome browser icon was missing from the app tray. I don't know exactly when that happened, but it was possibly related to the data setup process.
I've searched Google and the forums here and haven't come up with a solution. I've seen suggestions for unhiding icons, but I don't seem to have the option to hide/unhide icons, or at least I'm not finding it (if I hit the menu button from the app drawer, I just get 'manage apps' and 'system settings').
I also a suggestion to look at the disabled apps list, but the 'manage apps' function doesn't indicate that Chrome is disabled. It is still there - I don't think it can be uninstalled.
I'm not sure what else to do. Is factory reset the next step? Not looking forward to setting up the data connection again (I guess I would need to go through all the settings and write them down, unless there is a way to back them up).
I just noticed this morning that my picasaweb upload button is missing in my camera/gallery app.
There used to be a button in the upper-right corner (right next to the share button that allows you to select gmail, IM, etc) that would allow me to upload the photo to a selected album (or create a new album) in picasaweb. I'm not sure when this disappeared, but I noticed today that it is no longer there. I installed an OS update a day or two ago, so it may have been then. Now I see the share button, and a gmail button, and that's it. If I select the drop down menu from the share button, there is no picasaweb option there.
I can see all of my picasaweb albums on my phone, and am synced with google photo in my settings, but the upload button is gone.
What has happened to my Lock Screen. Only yesterday I had to upgrade to 4.3 and my Swipe feature on the home screen was working fine. I don't like the pin option, I know there are reasons for it, security etc, but all the threads I have seen say enable multiple widgets or some such thing on lock screen, well after my upgrade it seems it is very different from what others are seeing in their lock screens.
I have tried scrolling left to right on the lock screen - nothing. I have looked through my widgets - nothing. I have attached a screen shot of what my lock screen looks like after the upgrade and I am not even sure how it went from the swipe option to the pin option because I did not intentionally change it knowing I prefer the swipe option.
I have a gsm galaxy nexus, running the latest jelly bean, not rooted. I recently noticed that my clock app is gone. I can no longer find it in the app drawer. Also, the widget on the lock screen is gone, replaced by an older looking clock that has none of the functionality (stop watch, alarms, etc...) that the stock app came with. How I can get it back? Any app randomly disappear?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI Factory Reset my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 and after that I found the Google play Store was missing. I tired various ways to recover it but i'm not able to get it back.Also I tried manual way but i'm getting error 'unfortunately Google play store has stopped'.
I'm even not able to update my device. when updates are downloaded it ask to reboot the device. But after rebooting the failure message appears and it ask to do the update through Computer using Kies. Here also it says you device is not supported.
I have always come to android central for news and tips and guidelines, as my experience is limited I could not add any value to posts, I accidentally booted in safe mode, I than restarted my phone, the safe mode was gone but now my apps are missing and confused in the app drawer, I do not know how this happened is there a way to do a system recovery of some sorts so that the phone is like it was before? I am using a s4 the lte version
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using iSyncr for a few months now and overall it's pretty good. I was using it with Rocket Player, but didn't care for that player much, so I am just using the google music app for now.
The problem: All playlists sync, except for the most recent. So if I have playlists 1-5, with 5 being what I just created in iTunes and sync'd, play music will only show 1-4. Whenever I move on and create #6, then #5 will show up but 6 will be missing.. and so on.
I need to either figure out why, or find an alternative music player that doesn't have this problem and works with the iSyncr process/playlists. Rocket Player did not, but had some other things that I didn't like.
My phone doesn't have a phone call log and contact app after updating 4.3.

I gave up on Samsung, with their useless support.I would like my contacts and calendar to be the same at all times on my computer (windows 7 outlook 2010) on my phone (Note 3 with 4.3) and on my iPad (air)..I've been trying to sync outlook to the android, but no luck.So thought I will try to sync the iCloud to the Android, maybe that works.
View 6 Replies View RelatedOK so I'm loving the note 3 so far but I need a laptop. I really want a macbook pro 13 inch with retina display for school and recreational use. My mind is pretty much set for this laptop although expensive I'm sure it will last me through college (tenth grade atm) and that's what I want. Anyway my main concern is that my phone won't sync well with the laptop and I want to be able to download stuff onto my phone, along with seeing my videos and photos. Even though its an Apple computer will it work just as well as an iPhone would with this laptop?

But do i NEED to keep my auto sync enabled for Google Now or should it also work if I turn it off?
It do saves me alot of battery in the case I don't have to.
I've noticed that one of my friends on their contact picture has lost the little Facebook icon overlay and that syncing with Facebook wont bring it back.
Their contact picture has been replaced by another blurry pixellated picture.
Further to this, I notice that the actual contact picture in Facebook for HTC Sense is borked and pixellated. Anyone seen anything like this before?

One of the biggest question I have right now is photo sync. My partner an I are using the same gmail ID on both devices and we use google+ to automatically upload our images.
we were wondering like with iCloud if it was possible to also automatically download images. For instant, if i happen to take a picture with my phone it uploads to google picassa, is there a way for my partners phone to automatically download this image to the phone? so both phones have identical photo albums ?
Finally got the note 3 from Telus and loved the big screen + battery capacity!!(Ditched the iPhone 4 for note and it was a perfect choice!)
However, since I am completely a noob in android, how do I sync note, reminder and calendar with Google?
I'm looking for a tutorial to Root and then revert back to JellyBean from KitKat on a Nexus 7 2013 2nd Gen, non carrier, WiFi only, or Whatever is required to switch back to JB from KK..
