Jelly Bean :: Galaxy S3 Is Stuck At Firmware Upgrade
Aug 23, 2013I am using Samsung Galaxy S3, model GT-I9300. So I accidentally deleted a huge file in my phone earlier and I was trying to recover the file by rooting the phone and using this apps called DiskDigger. I obviously made a huge mistake as I have now made it worse. Long story short, I've used tips from multiple websites and youtube videos so now my phone is basically forever showing this right now
After reading a few threat, some people suggested to hold the volume down + home + power but this made no difference. I can't switch it off, it will blank out for 3 sec and go back to saying "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again". I installed Kies but the device will not connect to my laptop for some reason. I have uninstall and reinstall Keis a few times. I've tried every single USB port on my laptop and even the extended USB port but none of them work too. I used my sister's android for Kies and it's working fine, so the problem is my phone.
I have already downloaded ODIN 3.07. I read in one of the thread that I have to put in a .tar file. Another person had the same problem as me (Stuck with 'Firmware Upgrade Issue') and it seemed to be working for him but I don't know what the .tar file is.

General :: Galaxy S3 19300 Jelly Bean Stock Firmware / Kernel And Modem
Apr 4, 2013Unable to find my stock firmware.. every link points to the same file from hotfile.com and my ISP provider sucks causing the download to get stuck in between, tried two times at 100Kbps, failed both the times, once at 62%(552 MB)! its very hard to download it, any non hotfile link or some direct link if possible, can download it and host it as a torrent or something because i have very bad net connection and its slow also.
I am talking about Samsung Galaxy s3 19300 International/India Jelly Bean ROM, or even ICS stock might be ok. _
right now i have the stock ROM and Siyah Kernel and i want to clean instal everything and remove root.
General :: Galaxy SIII Mini (i8190) Lag While Typing
Jan 22, 2013My completely stock GS3 Mini (i8190) running 4.1.1. Jelly Bean experiences a lot of lag while typing.
Specifically, when I am using Whatsapp along with the SwiftKey keyboard. The keyboard responds slowly to my touches and I often have to slow down/stop completely in order for it to catch up with what I have been typing. This usually results in quite a few errors, and makes typing difficult.
I've noticed that outside whatsapp, Swiftkey works very well, with no lag at all. This includes in the browser, Gtalk, and Go SMS Pro. Weirdly enough, typing in whatsapp is easy enough when I use Swype or the Default Keyboard.
It's only the whatsapp + Swiftkey combination that seems to break everything. Ironically, this is what I intend to use my device for most of the time.
What can I do to diagnoze / fix this?

Jan 28, 2014Can i install CWM? Can i install ROM for original S3 mini?I found some roms here - URL>.... but i cant neither unlock bootloader or root the phone. I installed all usb, android, etc drivers, no yellow mark in the device manager. I've tried MtkDroidTools, TPSparkyRoot, SP_Flash_Tool.
I forgot to mention that the phone actually is with Android 4.1.2, i dont kno why MTK Droid root & tools says Android v : 2.3.6, it start with samsung logo and everything, but i dont have bulgarian language i this rom.

Feb 1, 2014After my phone froze, I just got it back from repairs. NOTHING works anymore. All apps, messages etc. gone. That would all have been alright, if it wasn't for the inability to reinstall apps, re-configure mail, facebook and bank. Running Android 4.1.2 btw
PROBLEMS
- can no longer choose to login to a Google account - that option simply doesn't appear in "accounts"
- Clicking tabs: Google drive, google +, Gmail, Play store, maps, causes rhe program to flash open and close instantly. Many videos showing this particular thing.
FIXES, TRIED AND FAILED
.:: Play store and downloads: Tried stopping app and clearing data - cache wasn't an option, since nothing had been used.
.:: Was able to update "play store", dont remember the exact version, with the newest file found on Android Police. Installed. Didn't work.
.:: Resetting: Went back to factory settings twice. Also tried a hard reboot.
.:: Any install/download button I click is non-responsive, by the way.
.:: Managed to get chrome working (still unable to sign into account via that), and downloaded that update from Android police

Sep 18, 2013I just purchased a Samsung Galaxy s4 mini and have realized that my contacts seem to appear on the screen very slow. It sometimes takes upto 2 minutes to appear. Some thing you all should know is that I have 2000+ contacts (mainly clients).
At first I was using google contacts and i assumed this was causing it to lag due to using data to refresh... but I transferred all the contacts to the device itself... so it shouldn't lag anymore!
When people even call... there name doesnt appear, and only the phone number shows, even though I have the number installed in my contacts. This is also the case with text messages. When I want to compose a new text, and search for a contact... it doesnt do anything for about a minute or two.
I have opened the developer mode, and changed the animations to off, but this hasnt solved the problem.

Dec 2, 2013i have samsung galaxy s3 mini.and like today my phone fell in water... first everything was ok, but then when i locked it, it will automaticly turn on... i tried everything, like buy a new battery, factory reseted it, deleted all the apps but it didnt work.... so the problem is: i always have screen timeout on 15 seconds... and when i LOCK my phone, it actually turns it back on on the lock screen. like before it would do that if i pressed any button on phone, but now it does it automatic. and its very annoying because i cant even sleep without my phone blinking all the time(i have my phone near the bed because of the alarm clock)..

Instead of vibrating and playing the required sounds, it will simply beep a couple times and that's it. I understand that it can't play any sounds while I'm on the phone, but is there any way to at least get it to vibrate at the time of the alarm?

Dec 4, 2013I just got OS4.3 pushed to my Samsung Galaxy S3 and noticed the "eye" symbol in my notification bar. The icon remained there even though Smart-Stay wasn't enabled and I have no Smart-Rotation feature showing on my phone when I go into Settings->My Device->Smart Screen. Instead, the "Eye" icon disappears when I disable my screen rotation. My coworker, on a different wireless/phone carrier, got the 4.3 upgrade last week (on his Galaxy S3) and HAS the Smart-Rotate option in his settings.
I don't wan't the camera active and draining battery just because I have screen-rotation enabled.

Jan 7, 2014After recently updating to the latest android 4.3 on my Note 2, I suddenly cannot play voicemails through my car bluetooth anymore. I can still make and receive calls through the car and therefore dial into my voicemails, but cannot just play back a specific message directly from my list of voicemails within the voicemail program - its the stock program that came with the phone. I can also play back directly through my bluetooth headset, just not to my car audio anymore. What gives? Obviously something changed with the update that I cant figure out. This is the last time I ever do an update unless its absolutely necessary, it seems like every time something gets jacked up that takes me hours to resolve.

Jelly Bean :: AT&T Note 2 - No Lock App Not Working After Update
Oct 11, 2013I have an AT&T note2. AT&T just had an update, now up to 4.1.2....
Since the update, my favorite app now will not work, the "No lock" app.
This is an app that will allow you to toggle on or off, the screen lock with pattern or code. You turn on screen lock with pattern, (or whatever security type), then use this app to toggle it enabled or disabled...
If the phone is in my pocket, (yeah, note 2 in pocket...lol.) I have lock screen enabled so it won't stay on if a text comes in, or an update / notification. If I'm using phone, I disable the lock screen, so even if the screen times out, the home button will bring it up and back to where I was without a swipe or lock pattern.
So, am I missing something? I think I have tried all the settings I can see, trying to get the app to work. The only way it works slightly, is if I set the phone to only swipe to unlock, no security. Then I can toggle swipe or no swipe. But that does me no good in my pocket. If a text comes in and wakes the phone up, my pocket can swipe to unlock or just keep the screen on from the moisture? or body heat?, or whatever the screen reacts to.
The app I use is No Lock by BoD... It has always worked on my S3, and worked on my Note2, before this last update.
