Jul 11, 2012On devices with onscreen keys, the key layout goes Back, Home (long press for Google now), MultitaskOn devices with physical keys, as we well know, whe have back, home, and menu (sometimes with search, long pressed to voice search) in a pretty unpredictable order.But how would you activate Google now on devices with these keys? Long pressing home is multitask.... so is multitask moved out a different key (long press menu?) Or does Google now move?
The most logical choice would be assigning it to long press search (replacing voice search) but a lot of phones *coughgalaxysphonescough* don't HAVE the search button...

Feb 27, 2014I've got a Chinese phone Pomp W89 and I wanted to put a custom rom on it, I tried to install cwm and twrp but I've found out they don't support my device, so I went on needrom and found a recovery file for my phone which I downloaded and used rom manager to flash.
But I've then worked out the file was corrupted and since then I can't get into recovery mode the phone just showed a brief white screen then boots up normally, it does say recovery mode at the bottom but never goes into it, I then found a complete recovery file for my phone and flashed that but the same thing happens without the brief white screen just a black one then it boots up normally.
I've tried cwm to flash and several other programs and I also then tried the terminal emulator to flash which I think was successful but the exact same thing happens, I just don't understand if the new recovery.img has been flashed why would nothing change? There was already a recovery.img on the phone which I kept a copy of and that makes no difference either.
I was going to flash using my computer but I have windows 8 and can't get the usb drivers to install for the phone.

Dec 22, 2013My Gnex has started to loop on boot screen and then reboot (Slimbean 4.3 update 2). I tried to wipe cache partition , to wipe dalvik cache, to flash the same rom, to flash another rom, to delete all data... but nothin happens.. it seems like the recovery (CWM) can't delete anything! if i delete or format anything , nothing happens! but the recovery told me that the process has succedeed.. I tried using Wugfresh toolkit to flash stock and also Odin.. but nothin happens.. I tried some casual commands on ADB, but i'm no good with ADB.

But will that cause a conflict with Jelly Bean when JB is being installed? The system is missing files and apps, and then JB is installed on top of that. Sounds like a setup for problems to me. Jan 2, 2014I have had my phone nearly a year and how it's got a cache of people I've sent emails to, because sometimes I want to retrieve an address I didn't think I'd need again... However, it also presents some annoying issues. It also saves every typoed address I've ever fat-fingered, and sometimes it comes up as the first choice when it was for someone in my contacts, and I then send a message to a bad address. If you go to write an email and press that little 'contact' button in the "To" field area, it shows me a list, and I don't know where some of those are coming from - it's some but not all of my contacts and some but not all of the addresses I've ever written to. I would like to clean out the fat-finger errors and also that mysterious list that comes up when you press the little contact icon when composing an email, without taking a scorched-earth approach. Googling around indicates to me that this has annoyed people for years and nobody's found a solution.
