There are several ways to terminate an app or to "clear cache". What are the differences between them?
Here are some I have been using without deeper understanding:
- Long press middle button and swiping out one app
- App manager: Clear cache, clear data, force stop
- Restart phone
- Use task manager app to kill app in question

Screen mirroring broke on my note 2 with the 4.3 update.
I've read one possible fix was to clear the cache partition (?) But have no idea on a non rooted phone how you would accomplish this. The other alternative is a factory reset but I would need to figure out how to back up my accounts/data to do that.
I'm using a galaxy note 10.1 2013 edition, and was wondering if there are any apps that allow the same functions of the 4.3 trim (clearing cache). If there aren't any, I don't mind having to manually clear cache, but is it possibly to do it without rooting?

The screen is blank, though I think all the pictures are in the memory. This happened after I installed the new camera app.

I receive about 100 new messages a day from our Exchange server. 1st email comes in for the day and I get a from and subject in the status bar. Messages after that show : (message count) new messages blah blah. By the end of the day it says I have 100 new messages. If I clear the notification, the next time I get a new email, it says 101 new emails. The "clear notifications" does not reset the count! It does for Gmail, which makes sense. The only thing that will reset the count is by going into the email program and then exiting back out. This is a bug, right? I realize I can "drag down" and get more detail on the messages, which is great, but I want the count to reset when I swipe the notification away.
I am writing an app for a smart watch and the problem lies where everything after the first message is not giving me the detailed information I need for my app. As a human using the phone, I can just launch the email app. No big deal. Can't do that from a watch when the phone is locked.
I have a samsung galaxy note 3 and im having a slight problem. I went to send some pictures, I chose to resize them to small before sending and I accidentally clicked on "always" complete this action, was curious on how I change it so it asks me every time what size I want to send my pictures,

I was reading that this is an old hack for ICS and under, and with jellybean this disables important CPU optimizations and is unnecessary.
I like the notifications of my emails, but not the fact that it shows the email body and subject. Is there a way to only show that there is a new email but not what or who? I have an app locking gmail to keep emails secure but people can still read them from notification tab.

Outlook has stopped syncing now (don't recieve emails, set as "push") when on wifi at home.
I have to go into the mail app and manually sync to get them.
It's been working fine until yesterday.
Still works when not on wifi.
Anything I did, or just Outlook itself taking a walk on the wild side like it seems to often.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4. My address book contains 6,500 contacts and is 90 mb in size. I am wondering if I am reaching the theoretical limits for address book size on Jelly Bean.
My address book frequently disappears which causes texting to stop working. The phone has been reset several times to try to solve the problem.
The only way for me to get the address book back is to clear the cache of the Contacts App and then force a stop. I then have to clear the cache of Contacts Storage which allows the address book to rebuild itself. The address book then lasts anywhere from 4 to 10 hours before it disappears.
Have both more contacts and a larger contacts file size than me?
I recently updated my S3 to run Jelly Bean 4.3, and now when I receive a text it both vibrates and plays the notification sound rather than just the notification sound as it used to. I can't seem to find a way to turn this off?

I select the page where all the apps are...select xbmc app...sometimes it flicks back to main apps page other times the screen turns black/blank. View 11 Replies View RelatedWe've had our desire's for a few weeks now and was just wondering what the phones performance is like for you guys/gals? you've all put on apps that you want and music and videos etc., has this affected the phone in anyway? Does it still run like it did out of the box or do you experience lag or other faults? Interested what you have to say.
The only gripe that I have is it is sometimes slow to access the market and takes a few seconds to load the page when scrolling down and I've got a stutter when I access an app to read reviews. Other than that it still runs smooth, I've got music, videos, apps, widgets and voice to text on mine and is easily the best phone I've ever had. Has anybody got a cache cleaner app, I can only find one for rooted phones?
I have a couple apps I have noticed when I open a file it must cache the file internally, but gives me no way to clear. For example Zumodrive and repligo reader both will show 20+mb in my settings, but clear cache is greyed out and shows 0mb. However when I delete these apps and reinstall them, I get all that internal memory back. I am running a rooted Nexus One.

We were comparing the people in the bar to the people in the photos and we found some hilarious matches. Anyway, that was last Thursday. Now I see that the pictures that were pulled up on my phone are now easily viewable by merely trying to attach a picture to a text message or an email. Basically, if anyone looks at my phone and tries to see my pictures or something they will see these stupid pictures. The phone says these pictures are saved in the SD Card Cache. How can I clear this cache? I've unmounted the card, twice. No go. I've uninstalled the horrible program (it was free and you get what you pay for, I guess). I needs me some help! I went through the settings/applications/manage apps, and checked and cleared cache on many, but this is real tedious, but seemed to give great results. Phone feels much faster. I need to make sure that before sending the intent the browser cache and history are cleared so that the page get loaded from server directly and not from phone.
So far I've found the 2 following but I'm not sure they are used correctly :
Browser.clearHistory(getContentResolver());
Browser.clearSearches(getContentResolver());
Also with that cache is not cleared.
