we now know that some apps dont appear on the android market for us to downloa, but where can we download them? theres a few im really struggling to find, ebuddy is one, also a youtube application.

been trying to download and install a couple of apps last night and this afternoon but they are getting stuck on the "starting download screen"? Is this an issue with my device or an android market issue - ive rebooted my phone, cancelled the downloads then restarted but they always get stuck on the "starting download" screen?

View 8 Replies View Relatedmy newly bought Tattoo became unbootable a few days ago.It worked perfectly fine two days ago, then it started to randomly reboot itself, but after that, it became completely unbootable, as in, it was stuck at the "TATTOO" screen. The phone internals are completely untouched, no custom images, not rooted, no nothing, it's factory fresh.The battery is full too, and I didn't install anything that could possibly have corrupted the bootloader (or whatever is failing to load).I already tried to wipe the user data _TWICE_ (using HOME + BACK + POWER) with no success. I'm also perfectly able to get into HBOOT (using VOLDOWN + MENU + POWER), and connect via usb (using "FASTBOOT USB" from HBOOT). However, I can't completely wipe the cache with fastboot.exe from the android-sdk, since it doesn't allow it: "erasing 'cache'... FAILED (remote: not allow)".
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have had a problem with the android marketplace on my HTC tattoo since i got it at christmas where i can't download any apps and the progress just stops at 'starting download' -- i have tried factory resets, new google accounts, wifi and network etc. etc. but it still doesn't work. i have been looking at google help and some people have solved the problem by simply signing into the google talk application that comes standard on most android phones. my tattoo doesn't have google talk though and i have no way of getting it. So can anyone provide me with a link to download the file off a file-sharing website such as rapidshare?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI don't know about you, but I feel a bit screwed by the fact that Android Marked wont even show me apps that haven't explicitly stated that they're 'OK' to run on the smaller screen.I want to use Google Voice, and a ton of other small apps I used to run on my G1. Where can I safely get them from? Is there some way to "override" Android Marketplace and just let me try apps?
Finally... I have an unlocked Tattoo, is there a way for me to force-upgrade my firmware to Android 2.0? I'm a developer so I can probably handle the technical magicks, but could you point me to a good source of info on this subject?
First time poster as I'm only just preparing myself for my first Android mobile I'm considering purchasing the HTC Tattoo, but one thing has me worried. In all the reviews I read they note the lack of apps on Android Market for the Tattoo, due to it's lower resolution - is this still an issue? I've read numerous reports stating the issue has been fixed but I'm not quite sure what to believe.
Got a new HTC Tattoo and love it! But can't see certain apps in the market place.Can we start a list of where we can download apps like Skymaps, Andnav2, etc without having to go through the android market.Any help would be great!
View 2 Replies View RelatedLong time lurker, first time poster here. As a brand new andoid fan, I've learned a lot from everyone here and now I would love to get help for my problem. I have downloaded lots of apps, but now there seems to be a problem. When I click to download, nothing happens, and then an orange triangle appears with the words "download was unsuccessful, please try again." I have tried all of the suggestions out there, removing and replacing the battery and SIM card, turning Wifi off and back on, logging out of Google Talk (although I seem to be automatically logged back in w/out doing anything), using 2G, 3G and Wifi.

Does Tattoo support offline GPS navigation (and if so - can you, please, suggest a app for this). Most of what google has to say about this is related to Google maps (obviously), but it looks like this can't be done there. I have poor reception anyway But I found out that if I stand near a wall in my office an tile my head at 55 degrees, then I get 'ok' reception (exaggerating) But this is with other phones. The Tattoo doesn't want to know And I have to move to somewhere where there is a much stronger reception
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am thinking of getting one of these for my girlfriends Xmas but would be getting it on a tariff without a data plan, relying on wi-fi for any data requirements. We were in the orange shop briefly - so i could sneakily test the water as to which phones she likes - She likes the look of the Tattoo and loves the idea of custom cases (her idea of a good phone is very superficial) but hasn't used a smartphone for any longer than 10 minutes. She doesn't like WinMo because it is very straight-laced and business orientated. I played with a hero in the orange shop and found it a pleasure to use but i have been using smartphones for a few years now. I have a couple of questions :
Will the Tattoo be usable/of any use without a data plan? What will work? what doesn't?

I've had my Tatto for a couple of days and wanted to pair it with my bluetooth headset for driving. The headset is quite new, but has no makers ref on it so can't find out what it's setting are, but when its on and the Tattoo is scanning, it is never found... I have also tried making the Tatto discoverable during this process as assume its a two way process....
