Mar 26, 2010In the root of your SD card create the following folders
Notifications
Ringtones
Alarms
In these folders put your favourite MP3 files. You can now use these MP3 files as per the topic.
Notifications - Message tones and Notification tones
Ringtones - Your phone ringtones
Alarms - Your alarm mp3s
Using these folders there is no need to play the MP3 files first in Music Player.
Motorola Droid :: Individual Text Message Tones And Ringtones?
Nov 12, 2009on my storm I was not only able to set an individual ringtone for my contacts I was also able to set an individual text message tone for them as well. Is there any way to do this on the droid or a third party program available?Also, these are very simple. Is there any way or app out there that when i plug my phone in it will make a full screen clock like it does on blackberries? (in the picture of the phone in the media dock--that I don't have it shows something similar to what I want) Next, How do I choose different ringtones for my alarms. There are not that many to choose from in the list and I don't like any of them. Oh actually and I just thought of another one:some of my contacts are not linked to my facebook contacts, some are, how do I manually add facebook to a contact. (I only know of hitting the sync button on facebook, but that doesn't have any manual select setting)

HTC Hero :: Way To Stop Two Message Tones / Notifications For A Message?
Feb 9, 2010For some reason, ever since I upgraded my HTC Hero to the latest Rom today, I have received two message tones and notifications for every text message I receive. I don't know why this has started happening as no new apps have been installed apart from those that were erased during the upgrade.

Jun 3, 2010Sometimes when I receive messages it makes the notification sound and will show message in notification bar but the text of the message will not appear in the text thread. Used to happen every once in a while, now doing it multiple times a day. I use Handcent but I doubt that is the problem because the messages dont show up in the regular messaging either. Just want to see if i am alone with this problem.

Jul 31, 2010HTC Hero, 2.1 firmware, Handcent.I had Handcent installed even before the upgrade to 2.1 and when receiving an SMS message, there would be two notification tones. No problem at all on Email just the one notification tone but SMS seems to be the buggy object here.After the 2.1 upgrade, I'm still getting two notifications on SMS messages. And the two notifications thing still occurs WITHOUT Handcent its obviously because I have two different alerts set one for email and a different one for SMS and on receiving an SMS, BOTH tones play.is there a way to set up the notifications so that one tone plays for SMS notifications only, and the other plays for Email notifications only?

Jun 21, 2010For some reason, whenever I receive a message it says the message arrived an hour earlier, screwing up the order that the messages are listed in. How do I fix this? I bought the phone in the UK and am using it in the U.S., so I had to change the time (although I had to set the time zone to central time, while I live in NY, as the phone doesn't account for daylight savings or something...)

Aug 8, 2010my newly bought Tattoo became unbootable a few days ago.It worked perfectly fine two days ago, then it started to randomly reboot itself, but after that, it became completely unbootable, as in, it was stuck at the "TATTOO" screen. The phone internals are completely untouched, no custom images, not rooted, no nothing, it's factory fresh.The battery is full too, and I didn't install anything that could possibly have corrupted the bootloader (or whatever is failing to load).I already tried to wipe the user data _TWICE_ (using HOME + BACK + POWER) with no success. I'm also perfectly able to get into HBOOT (using VOLDOWN + MENU + POWER), and connect via usb (using "FASTBOOT USB" from HBOOT). However, I can't completely wipe the cache with fastboot.exe from the android-sdk, since it doesn't allow it: "erasing 'cache'... FAILED (remote: not allow)".

Oct 12, 2010Have the phone. Went through all the fun of finding my own prefered ring tone - well I made it from a song, and another ring tone for other uses.
Set them up, set the "Message" tone, set the alarm tone and all was good.
It wasn't long after that I bought a SANDISC8 gig SD card.
Coppied ALL files over and swapped the cards.
I am not sure exactly WHEN the problem started, but it still exists.
Now and then the phone is in my pocket and it starts making a sound. It isn't one I selected, so ignore it until it becomes obvious it is mine as no-one else is talking on their phone.
I look and it is a message/phone call/alarm.
They are NOT the ones I set. So I go through the process of seting them back to what I like.
Someone says it could be a dicky SD card. I shall test that soon by putting back the original one and seeing what happens. The only problem with that is that it is SO INTERMITANT that it is hard to know if it is or not really the problem.
