Thanks to my nefu playing around with my phone and trying to unlock my phone with the pattern thing, my htc magic has gone into full lock mode...or whatever it's called. It tells me to sign into gmail to unlock the phone, but when i enter my info it will not sign in. Just to be shure I had all the info right I signed into gmail with my computer and it works, but not with my phone..

I am a new android developer in China. Unfortunately, dev phone is not available in here. And it's almost impossible and hazardous to get one from US. However I can buy retail version of the phone and I would prefer HTC magic with 288 MB RAM version (for more RAM and memory, so that I can upgrade to android 2.0)
Now, my question is- how can I unlock this device so that it works like a dev phone? Such as, I want to flash, install/upgrade/downgrade android OS, install modified version of android OS.
how to unlock the rogers magic? I am going to Europe next week and would really like to be able to use a travel SIM. If any one has, how easy is it?

Sadly, the Android Market in Canada does not have any paid apps. I was just wondering is there any way I can put themes onto my phone? I find that it really sucks that I can't use any of the dxtop themes or openhome themes in the market unless I actually have the app itself (which I cannot purchase).

I searched about nexus since it is similar and saw a few things about the app LOCKBOT, i recommend you atleast try the free version and see, it gives you unlock with the trackpad button and the ability to do custom lockscreen with different styles like Iphone, and different android locks. THis was one grip i didnt like about sense. Stock Android has the ability to swipe to unlock or swipe the other way to mute sounds, which is a nice feature, although i prefer my iphones switch the best
The bad...Ive read stuff about it crashing and being laggy, now i havnt experiended this on the INC, it runs super smooth. But i have been having a few times where the front button will not unlock the phone, maybe an update will fix this or something, but its worth a shot to look at.
Recently my phone's screen (galaxy s4) has broken. It is not shattered but it does not light up or respond to touch. It looks almost as if it is not on at all. I know it is on because the light in the upper corner that blinks for notifications works and the soft keys light up when the power/lock button and volume button are pushed. I can not see or save what I have on my phone through Kies because I can not unlock it. I was wondering if there was any other way to unlock a phone like through a website or program, or even display a phones screen onto another device, because I have picture on here that are very important to me that I would like to save before I ship my phone in for it's replacement and lose everything. I did not have an SD card and I do not know if everything saved to my clouds or google docs.
View 2 Replies View Relatednew to this site as never had any problems with my magic till today, my 2 year old to my horror threw it against the wall and the battery etc fell out, Fortunatly when i examined it there was no damage screen wasnt cracked or damaged or anything, however since ive turned it back on theres safe mode in transparetn writing at the bottom left of the screen and the touch screen doesnt work and every time i go into a process such as say contacts , i get the 'the process android.process.acore has stopped please try again everything works like i say i can go online but obviously without the use of the touch screen i cant type, nor can i send texts due to the lack of touchscreen so what can i do HELP PLEASE Or do i have to face facts and get in touch with my insurance ?

For people that made the switch. Do you honestly like it better? I don't care if it doesn't blow the iPhone out of the water I just want somethin onpar with the iPhone. I was wondering if anybody docks their Magic (or similar) to one of those thing-a-ma-bobs that holds it between two speakers? They're generally made for iPods but hold other players as well.Because of the wee USB port, I have bought a little adaptor so now I've got 3.5mm jack, but I don't know how well that would dock.
I just want something cheap so I can set it on the kitchen counter whilst making dinner and washing up. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the htc magic and its been acting up as of late. It's been running super slow, taking over a minute or more to load the home screen after running apps at times. My most recent, and worst problem, is every time I get a text message and go to turn of the display, it won't light up but instead shows the android loading screen (the one when you turn the phone one.) Sometimes ill already have it on and when I click the text box in the messaging app to reply, it does the same thing. Any suggestions on how to fix this? If not, I'm going to look into getting a new one or just switching to a phone with less hassle.
