I guess i deleted a sms thread while receiving a text from that person so now my phone always says like 2 unread messages in my notification bar when there is only one and I cannot figure out how to get it to stop doing this. I've battery pulled, deleted all threads and it is still there. I am using stock messaging app.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo, this is a minor but VERY annoying problem on my Eris. I have a notification that is ALWAYS SHOWING!! It is a little black and white envelope. It is labeled "New Message(s)". It has the subtext, "You have an unread message".If I slide my Notifications down, and click the notification, it brings me to the HTC Message list. All of my messages are marked as read, so I dont know why the icon is still there.If I get a text, a totally separate icon, which is also a black and white envelope, but has a green circle with a number inside it showing how many unread messages I have. If I bring the Notifications down, and click the problematic Notification, "the first one I mentioned", the second said icon will go away, and the original will NOT go away. I can click "Clear Notifications" and it will go away till I get a new message, and then the problem is back.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI opted to use the native Android (HTC?) imap client for my Gmail account simply because the widget shows me an unread message count. That aside however, the dedicated Google Gmail app is much better (it looks nicer imho and also has the "Archive" button - in the imap client I have to "Move to..."/"[Gmail]/All mail"). And the question: is there an way to have an unread email counter while using the Google gmail app? I would like something that will update as soon as the email is synced to my device, and decrement as soon as I archive an email in the google app.

My question is, when I get a message pop up it will only show the first unread message no matter how many subsequent messages were received after the first one. I seem to be missing text messages unless I look at my conversation list and see that I have unread messages. Is there anyway to make all the messages popup like the Iphone does?

UCCW worked for me to create counters for text messages and missed calls but not for WhatsApp. I know there are possibilities but I don't own a credit card so I'm looking for a free alternative.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got a Droid today and am enjoying it so far, but one issue I've been having is I want to be able to know when I have an unread message without having to unlock the phone.My last phone had a setting that allowed me to set a tone or alert that would go off every 2, 5 or 10 minutes while I had an unread or un-listened-to message on my phone, so even if I missed the first alert I would still notice when I had something new.

My msg icon on the main screen showin 1 notification but when i click the icon there is no new message in my inbox.
This is the only thing I miss from my Blackberry. I know I can add a message icon on the homeccreen but I want to have 1 inbox on my homescreen that displays an unread message count and the inbox includes:
-all missed calls
-voicemails
-facebook msgs
-texts
-email
Is there an app for this? or a way to do it i'm missing? search resulted in unadressed topics.
Should the stock gmail shortcut icon show how many unread gmail messages I have when using Sense UI? I thought it did. I've been using PandaHome for so long with the "Unread Gmail Notification" app that I can't remember whether or not I need the "Unread" app with Sense.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've searched all over and cannot find a way to mark Read SMS text messages as Unread. I get lots of texts and sometimes don't want to address specific ones until later. On my BB and other phones, I could mark as Unread, so it would stand out later when I could deal with them. There doesn't seem to be an option in the initial menus for texts.

It will have one number before I open my inbox and then another unread count within the app (before downloading any new emails). It then updates itself when I exit the messages app. Do you think it might have something to do with too many widgets on my homescreen? I don't have anything major...1x1 more icons, 1x4 smooth calendar, vibrate toggle, htc clock. Anyone else have this issue?

I use handcent and every once in a while if I get a text and I unlock my phone and open the message before it stops vibrating ill see the first few words on the preview bar but when the handcent finnaly opens the message wont be there. its happend to me prolly 10 times now and kinda sucks asking people to resend the message. It only seems to happen when I open everything quickly, and also once in a while if its doing a function like closing handcent and I hit the power button before it fully closes the phone will restart which also is kinda anoying.
View 14 Replies View RelatedA couple days ago i noticed my phone was silent, which is pretty unusual.I decided to check and see if i had any messages, hit the power button, and saw no little message icon waiting for me. I figured no one had texted me so i moved on. About a half hour later i checked again only this time went in to the messages app thingie and had three unread messages, all of which had come up within the last thirty minutes.Ive been checking it more often now and it does vibrate, but the little icon doesnt stay up long/at all. Any idea what im doing wrong? Its getting kinda annoying not knowing if i have a message or something.

Then tonight on the way home I got an email, read it, and the notification went away, but in my Gmail it still showed "Inbox (1)" but the email showed as read. I synced it twice, but it stayed the same way. When I got home tonight, I logged on to my email and it showed the email as unread. I just downloaded Twidroid Pro and Google Goggles, so I'm wondering which of these is the culprit.

If I replace the .setSingleChoiceItems with a positive and negative button instead, it displays the buttons and the message as expected. What am I doing wrong in setting up my list of radio buttons? Here is my calling code as well...
My problem is this, I downloaded Handcent and really like it, however, I can't send messages from home. I have marginal service here (around -98 avg.) but I do get 3G. Whenever I send a message it says Message Failed - Retry, Cancel? I've even had this problem in places with great coverage for both 3G and cell service. The stock messaging app works just fine. So what I've been doing is receiving messages with Handcent and then sending them using the stock app.
So, does anyone have any ideas of what I can do? Are there any settings that can be changed? Does handcent use 3G to send messages?
I'm now trying Chomp to see if that's any better. And, just an FYI, I'm having trouble with text messages, not MMS. I haven't tried sending any pics or videos yet, I've just been sending SMS.
After the update, the factory-installed Voicemail icon was showing that "Couldn't load widget" message. I removed and replace it without a problem. This morning, I got a voice message and now it doesn't show the new message count in the icon.
Not a big deal, but I guess that means they updated that app (current version is V.5.1.0.30). I was hoping they would at least improve the recording quality by providing options for raising the recording frequency so it doesn't sound so "tinny".
