View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a basic AlertDialog using an activity with a theme of Theme.Dialog.What I want is for there to be a horizontal bar between the title and the message. However, the bar is not being resized correctly. Rather than being the width of the activity, the bar is the width of the message text. This means that if the activity is being expanded by the message, then the bar will fill the whole activity, so it looks correct. However, if the message width is less than the activity width, the bar only displays above the part of the activity with the text. I've tried every single combination of "fill_parent" and "wrap_content" that I can think of, and none of those work.I've also tried using RelativeLayout and placing the bar above the message text, but that also doesn't work. If I use the RelativeLayout approach and set the bar to fill_parent, it causes the activity to expand to fill the whole screen width, which is also undesirable. Ideally, I want the text placed, the activity width computed, and the bar resized to that width (without affecting it). Is there some way to flag a view to fill the parent view but not to affect its size?

I followed all the instructions on the other really long thread. I am having one issue though. I installed SDK and the drivers, that all went perfect. The only issue I am having is with the actual bootanimation.zip. I am thoroughly stuck. After I download a bootanimation.zip it shows up in winrar with 4 files (loading, eye, android, and the desc.txt) I know it has to go in tools. I am just not sure how? Do I add each folder or is there a way to add them all? I also know the name has to be bootanimation.zip. I tried a few different ways and pushed it to my Inc. But I cant get it to boot with the animation.

Could anyone post or point me to an example of using custom items in a theme? I've created a theme that uses custom attributes as item names, and I want to refer to those items in the code. I can see the theme is working because it also sets the android:windowBackground color. As a concrete example, I want an inactiveColor item in my Theme.GreenWithYellow to use in onDraw methods in my Views. I think this would be the right mechanism to use to have multiple color schemes for application specific purposes, but I would be happy to entertain other approaches, too.

Im using Zelly Cream ROM on my Xperia Ray.
I've been theming my phone over the past week with Froyo BuglessBeast and have almost got my phone just the way I want it (custom icons, colors, launcher image, etc) My question is, how do I make this into an updateable file so I can flash it over future bugless upgrades instead of having to re-do everything again?
Just for information, not sure that it makes any difference. I themed the stock launcher as well as framework-res. I didn't do it with a home replacement.
I'm using the latest version of GO Launcher Theme Factory, and I've made a theme with around 30 icons, but I can't seem to add custom icons for other apps that aren't in GO's list. For example, I want to add a Nexflix icon for my theme, but I can't because when I double click on the add custom icon button, GO wants me to open an .apk file, not an image file. How to add a new icon to the list where it's actually an image file, or .apk file that I could download to my comp that has a bunch of custom icons listed (I'll make my own actual icons).

It's something like a Toast with "Media Volume" title which appears when we press volume buttons (+ and -) in games. But I don't know which View it's, or it's a Toast, a Dialog. I'm writing a bitmap editor. Each document consists of about 3 bitmap layers and documents are, at the moment, saved as a custom file with a .bme extension. These files can be converted to standard jpg/png files by rendering each bitmap on top of one bitmap and saving the latter. I need some way for the user to be able to select .bme files they've created already. Is there anything in Android that can make this easier for me? The only option I can see is to write an activity that creates a list view and write a list adapter that looks for .bme files on disk i.e. a copy of the standard "Media Gallery" app that works for my .bme files. The list adapter will either have to generate a thumbnail preview of the image to show to the user or I'll have to package such a preview in the .bme file when they're created. This is the only option I can think of. I thought I'd ask in case there is more Android friendly way of doing this. For example, can you add custom file support to the "Media Gallery" app?

Is this normal? Or was my factory reset not working properly?Is there a way to get back to "out of the box" without having to manually reinstall a stock theme and unroot?

I am interested in using the GPS to create a KML file to track my route using "Paths" (http://code.google.com/apis/kml/documentation/ kml_tut.html#paths).
