It currently makes me laugh.6 months from now who knows but thought I'd try it for awhile.
Is there any way of using an mp3 as a voicemail greeting? I'd like to utilize this somehow.

A quick search pulled up some of the same questions, but I had a hard time finding any answers.
A friend recently got a new Samsung Moment. Since then, he reports that callers sometimes get his personal voicemail greeting, but sometimes just get a vanilla greeting with the phone number, or perhaps an inability to leave a message at all. We're trying to figure out why.
1) Could it be related to the fact that the Samsung Moment has Visual Voicemail? My friend doesn't use the Visual Voicemail program on the phone (yet), but rather dials 1, just as he used to, to both set his greeting and hear his messages. My understanding, however, is that he was switched to a Visual Voicemail-capable server anyway.
2) Could it be related to roaming? I wonder whether his new job is in an area with poor Sprint service, where his phone is often going into roaming. This would also explain why his battery is not lasting the full (overtime) workday.
3) Could the separate server used for Visual Voicemail be downright flaky, constantly flopping up and down, or perhaps over-busy? Wouldn't other customers of that server complain if so?
When I attempt to set my voicemail greeting, it first asks me to set a 4-7 digit password, then hit #. If I hit # without entering digits, it says "# is not recognized". The user manual clearly states "Sprint recommends you set a password, otherwise anyone who finds your phone can access your voicemail." That implies you don't have to set a password. So how do I tell it I don't want a password, and let me move on to the greeting recording?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried troubleshooting on google. I tried emailing them, but there is no option to email about the voicemail greeting, just telling me to wait after i change the settings.
So to the problem, I recorded both my name and custom greeting. When people get my voicemail, they hear the standard greeting "Please leave your name and Google voice will try to contact 'Thuyet To'". I went to all the settings, changed everything to play my custom greeting, but I'm still getting nothing.
Not sure if anyone else was having this issue, but if you want to get the old automated robot voicemail greeting instead of a recorded greeting, go ahead and record your main greeting and then go back into your voicemail settings and delete the greeting. It will revert to an automated greeting. Also, to get it to say your number instead of your recorded name, go into personal option under the voicemail settings and delete your recorded name, and it'll revert to just saying your number in the automated voicemail greeting. This had been bugging me ever since I got the phone since I hated recording a greeting myself and for the life of me I could not find the option for an automated greeting. Anyways, hope that helped.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm writing a bitmap editor. Each document consists of about 3 bitmap layers and documents are, at the moment, saved as a custom file with a .bme extension. These files can be converted to standard jpg/png files by rendering each bitmap on top of one bitmap and saving the latter. I need some way for the user to be able to select .bme files they've created already. Is there anything in Android that can make this easier for me? The only option I can see is to write an activity that creates a list view and write a list adapter that looks for .bme files on disk i.e. a copy of the standard "Media Gallery" app that works for my .bme files. The list adapter will either have to generate a thumbnail preview of the image to show to the user or I'll have to package such a preview in the .bme file when they're created. This is the only option I can think of. I thought I'd ask in case there is more Android friendly way of doing this. For example, can you add custom file support to the "Media Gallery" app?

View 3 Replies View RelatedHow do I select the standard default greeting for my sprint voice mail? the standard greeting Im referring to is the default we always hear with the female electronic voice"...u have reached the voice mail box of ###-###-####.....". A couple of nights ago I was prompted to enter (record) my own "greeting" and now I cant find the option to revert back to the default one. I tried all the options after calling my own voice mail but cant seem to find the default greeting option. Also, I stopped receiving voice mail notification (the numerical number of voice mails I have next to the voicemail icon) after the software update. how do i get that to work again?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI got the Droid yesterday, and I'm trying to use Google Voice *just* for voicemail. However, it seems like I never get notifications about new voicemail, unless the app is open. Also, recorded voicemail is very soft when it's played back, almost too soft to hear.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI hardly ever get Voicemails on my phone. However, I just got one and I went to check it and it is asking for a 4 digit pin. I remember getting an automated call from Verizon that they were altering their voicemail system, but now I don't know how to check it. Where do we go to set this up and create our 4 digit pin, etc?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI had VZW visual voicemail (VVM) on my BB Storm before I got the Incredible. When I switched over, I noticed that the Incredible had a VVM app native to HTC, and I have been using that app. However, the $2.99 service is still on my VZW account which started when I was using the Storm. If I'm not using VZW's VVM app, do I need to pay the $2.99 a month to get VVM using HTC's app?

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Incredible has stopped receiving visual voicemails for some reason. It displays a notification stating that voicemail activities have been received, but I can see that it hasn't updated since September 7th. It is not downloading my new VMs. If I call *86, I can get them just fine.
View 3 Replies View Relatedwhen I first got my dinc. someone on here showed a awesome trick, by setting about a contact with the number as "Unavailable" you are able to set the contact to go directly to VM so you don't have to worry about those calls...Either VZW as changed something or it doesn't work on 2.2...how to make this work again?
View 7 Replies View RelatedThings i have tried to fix the problem.
1. Having someone leave me a voicemail, and then checked and deleted it.
2. Turning off the phone.
3. Taking out the battery.
4. Pressed * instead of hanging up when I exit voicemail.
I am relatively sure I know what caused the problem, I just don't know how to fix it. I had a voicemail that I had not yet checked on my phone when I signed up for visual voicemail. I then looked at it on visual voicemail, decided I didn't need to listen to it, and then deleted it. Therefore, I have this "phantom" voicemail still there even though I deleted it. I tried uninstalling the visual voicemail and then reinstalling it, but I was unable to uninstall it...
I am at a loss here, and I know it's not a big deal but it aggravates the bejesus out of me for some reason. Any ideas?
My fiance upgraded from LG Voyager to Droid 2. She wanted her old ringtones from the Verizon Media store so she downloaded them. When she stored them they were given default names. I was able to make the appropriate ringtone associations, except for voicemail. I have 2 questions:
1. How do you set a ringtone for voicemail? When I run the standard voicemail app (Verizon) I cannot being up a menu.
2. How do I change the name of a ringtone file?
Has anyone been able to activate Visual Voicemail on the DI?I installed the app, but then it told me to remove and that it was already on the HTC unit.I removed and still cannot find out where this is.
View 12 Replies View RelatedSearched for this but didn't find anything. I have my GV voicemail set up to go directly to my voicemail box (no pin) when dialing voicemail from my phone. I have everything configured correctly on the GV site and on my phone (dialed the *71GVNumber). When I call my voicemail it just rings and I have to press * to get to the PIN prompt. Is there something different about the Incredible that this doesn't work correctly? I had this correctly setup on my Storm2.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI have been using Google Voice since I received the DInc 6 weeks ago. All was well.yesterday, I had a Voice mail notifier appear and it was the symbol that looks like a cassette tape sort of. This ca be accessed through the basic SMS messages icon.It wants me to dial my # and listen to a message. There is no message, and I do not know how to clear the notification. Also, I do not know where this VM came from and I want to get rid of it so it does not happen again. removing the Messaging tab and reinstalling it, nothing changed.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just "upgraded" from a Motorola droid to the HTC Incredible. I run the IT dept for my company and I get a lot of solicitation calls. On the Moto Droid, I created a contact called Ftards, everytime I get a call from somebody I don't want to talk to I add them to that contact, worked brilliantly.
Did the same thing on the Incredible, but it doesn't seem to work. I did a hard reset and created one contact, it worked, then I synced my exchange, still working, but when I woke up this morning, I got a call from Ftards and it came right through. The setting still says "on" but it isn't sending to voicemail
Is there a way to get rid of the HTC app "People" and install the Motorola app "contacts" This is driving me a little crazy..
Oh, and on a related note, if I assign a ringtone to a specific contact, that doesn't work either, it just plays the default ringtone when they call.
While serving time with AT&T, my voicemail could be configured to NOT require a PIN when it was being accessed by my dumb phone.
Does anyone know if there is an equivalent feature when accessing Verizon voicemail from my Incredible? My google-fu is weak, for I could not find such a feature.
Sitting here waiting on my Incredible to arrive, and I was just curious as to how many of you actually opted for the $2.99 charge to take advantage of the visual voicemail service offered by Verizon?
I like the convenience of not having to call my VM number and enter my pin when I receive a VM, but a part of me is saying it's not worth the charge.
I don't receive or make a lot of calls, as I mainly text and use data, so phone calls don't make up that great of a percentage of my actual use of the phone.
Is the service always accurate? When I had T Mobile, sometimes the VVM wouldn't work. I would miss a call and receive a VM but I would have to call the number to retrieve it.
