I keep getting 'unknown' caller with no number keeps phoning everyday. But when I answer there is no reply. I don't want a block all unknown calls as some are friends. I was wondering if there is a application which stops callers hiding their number?

I want to block calls from few numbers, for that I want to write a app of my own. So what are the APIs which I should be using? Basically I want to get notified when a call comes, i want to compare numbers if it is what i want to block, i want to cut the call or mute it or if possible mute it and record it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a ListView with an adapter attached. In the individual list items are placed views with widgets that continually update themselves within the list. Everything works well except for this case: Touch the list and start scrolling it just before the longTouch event would be thrown. Then lift your finger from the ListView. At this point the widget views in the ListView no longer receive onDraw events in response to the invalidate calls that continue to be made on the ListView. It is like the ListView starting blocking the invalidate calls during the scroll and forgot to re-allow them when the scrolling stopped. If I touch and scroll with out holding or scroll with a fling this does not happen. The ListView will start allowing the onDraw events back through if you touch anywhere in the list. Any ideas on how to help the ListView not block those onDraw calls?

Unfortunately, I get numerous calls, often with recorded messages, from people trying to sell me something for which I am not interested. On my old, non-HTC phone I would just add the unwanted incoming number to a contact called ?Delete? and set the ring for that contact to silent. The EVO 4G does not permit dozens of numbers to be added to a single number. If anyone has a better solution to tag a number as unwanted and not ring I would love to hear about it.

I don't want to keep my phone shut off all the time. I called tmo and a really nice tech advised me to look for group app that will help, I am looking for an app that will let me block all calls except for my contacts or certain #'s I want the calls coming in.

View 10 Replies View Relatedi have tried nearly ever single application on the market that claims to block private numbers but it none of them work for me... Idk if its because of the Sprint service or the applications just dont work. I know GBlocker blocks the calls. But it dont block the texts, or prevent it from going to voicemail. Nor does it block private calls. There was this other one I had that blocked calls too but same thing with GBlocker. What i dont understand is that if you choose the option "BLOCK ALL CALLS" it will then block private calls. But the option to just block the private calls fails to work. Is there anything out there that actually works? I have considered buying extreme blocker for $5 but whats the point if it might not work? When blocked numbers call, i dont want their voicemails. Nor do I wanna know their calling.

However, so far there is one thing I noticed that I hope I can get some input on: I used to have the original Droid and I was able to use the phone while I had my earbuds on. I could talk into the speaker while listening to the other end on earbuds. It was very convenient that I didn't have to take them out when I was listening to music while I got a call or made one.
Now, I found out that with my fascinate I cannot do this. I got a call this morning while I was listening to music and I answered the call with my head phones on. I could hear the other person but the other person couldn't hear me. Then, I had to take out the ear buds and speak on the phone. Is there a way to work around this or am i stuck doing this from now on?? I really hate the phone mic headphones bc they suck and I love using my current ear buds.
Whenever I connect my Desire in "disk-mode" a Windows 7 alert pops up telling me that there might be a problem with my disk and asking whether I want to scan and fix the drive. No matter what I respond (if I agree to have it scanned it will do so and always reports "no issues found"), it will invariably come up with that popup again the next time I attach the phone.
When I take the SD card out of the mobile and put it in my card reader and then do a "chkdsk" on the drive, it also always tells me, that there is no problem.
So, why does Windows then always see a problem when attaching the Desire in disk mode? Is there a way to stop this nuisance?

View 15 Replies View RelatedNot sure if this is technically the "silent bug" but calls do not even show up on the phone, they just appear as "missed call from...." no noise no other notification. I restarted phone but it did it again right away. Phone does show the 50% bug in battery info.

Recently some jackholes have started spamming me texts with horoscope/dating/whatever ads. They send like 4 at a time about twice a day and I'm sick of it.
I saw a few market apps that claim to block sms/calls. Reviews on all were mixed good & bad. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with any or had a suggestion for an app to stop this madness.
Also curious if anyone knows how they actually block. Basically I want to know if I just don't get a notification, or it just doesn't show in messaging app/handcent, or if it really gets blocked - as in not actually sent to me and does not charge me for a text.
If all they do is stop the notification I can just use settings profiles for that. But I'd really like to not have them be charged to me. I am on a 250/month plan and might risk going over at the rate they're being sent.

Is there anyway to make VoIP calls or Skype Out calls on the EVO? I am switching from the iPhone 3GS and am going out of the country on vacation in a month and I got used to making Skype Out calls over WiFi when out of the country.

The screen doesnt light up and no options for receiving calls. This happened before I installed Google voice. I disabled Google voice and still no joy. Everything else works. I can make calls, browse over WiFi and 3G.
