For some reason if I open Advanced Task Killer I have like 8-12 apps running all the time. They're random too, many that aren't attached to widgets. An example is gesture search. I feel like this is eating up my battery.

is there any way to debug live running apps to see what processes are taking alot of cpu time? I see the options in DDMS but they are not really live. I would just like to see what processes took alot of time so I can dig into the code to optimize it

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I charged my battery last night and unplugged it 8AM. About 30min commute using it to play music, then exited and stored it (since I can't bring my phone into work). Left @5PM and once again played some music on the way home. I have made no calls, no texting at all, and now noticed that I'm at 16% and dropping fast (7:25PM). I have read most of the battery threads and have blue tooth, mobile, and GPS turned off. Under running services I have:
Mail: Mail Service
Calender: ObexService
Touch Input:Touch Input
Google: GTalkService
Sync Service: SyncService
Messages: Transaction Service
HTC Message Up loader: UploadMessageService
Battery Widget: BatteryWidgetUpdate
Are these killing my battery, and which ones can I kill off? Which app can tell me who the resource (battery, etc) hogs are?
I just installed Froyo tonight and reinstalled my apps and use Advanced Task Killer free and when I kill my apps it seems as though I always have some running or they will start running without me doing anything. I have News and Weather, Slacker, Voice search, and Skype mobile running and when I click on KILL selected apps It leaves Voice search running. If I click Kill again Slacker, News and weather and voice search are running. Why are these apps running when I'm not actually running them? Any ideas?

I just have a question as to if this is normal or if I have a defective phone. When I got into running apps under settings its shows on the bottom (the numbers of course vary) Avail: 64+219 in 25 and Other 60mb in 4. As soon as I open then browser and go back and check it goes to Avail: 58mb+0.00b in 25 and Other: 0.00b in 4. I checked my fiancee's Moto Droid and it isn't doing this. Is it normal with the Incredible or is my phone defective?

I like to listen to live fire dept dispatch, and then be able to go to Google Maps, while the audio is still going, to look up addresses. Is there a way to do this? View 5 Replies View Relatedin spare parts, under other usage, My Wi-Fi on and Wi-Fi Running percentages are ALWAYS the same... right now sitting at 99% each. Surely Wi-Fi on should be at 99%, but Wi-Fi running should be considerably lower since I don't have any form of auto sync or location based things on.I can keep my phone on for 12 hours, Wi-Fi enabled, and Wi-Fi running is always full, at 99 odd percent. Nothing is using the wi-fi, even when i choose to forget my wifi details so there is no connection. I suspect it may have something to do with the root process "0" under Network usage under Battery history in spare parts. I'm thinking it's keeping my Wi-Fi active and draining my batt, even if it's not pulling any data.I've completely uninstalled every app (except spare parts), wiped cache and dalvik, put phone on Aeroplane mode, nothing changes. Facebook app isn't updated to 1.3 or 1.3.1 either.Really at wits end as to why my Wi-Fi is "running" at 100% all the time.Here are my details: HTC Desire rooted with Clockwork from latest Unrevoked. View 5 Replies View RelatedIve had my evo since day one.Absolutely love it.It's just that within the last month it's been taking awhile to open anything.If I click on mail it seems as though it stalls for awhile, then "loading" screen then it opens.Same thing with the messenger to check my text.Again with the loading screen which stays open longer than it use to. I'm trying to run two AsyncTasks at the same time. (Platform is Android 1.5, HTC Hero.) However, only the first gets executed.
Here's a simple snippet to describe my problem:

The output I expect is:
onCreate() is done.
bar bar bar
foo foo foo
bar bar bar
foo foo foo
And so on. However, what I get is:
onCreate() is done.
bar bar bar
bar bar bar
bar bar bar
The second AsyncTask never gets executed. If I change the order of the execute() statements, only the foo task will produce output.
Am I missing something obvious here and/or doing something stupid? Is it not possible to run two AsyncTasks at the same time?
I realized the phone in question runs Android 1.5, I updated the problem descr. accordingly. I don't have this problem with an HTC Hero running Android 2.1.
So I am running an older version IC3ROM (4+ months old). When I left, Froyo was a buzz word, and leak rooting was a dream rumored to never happen. Is it time to upgrade to something new? I can't really complain about IC3ROM, as with Launcher Pro, it has been great. I don't particularly like the idea of starting over, but if there's something out there worth it, I'd give it a go. Opinions? I don't really care about Verizon's interface as I always replace it with launcher pro, but performance and stability is #1 concern.
View 5 Replies View RelatedEver since I upgraded to the non-official Froyo, I've been experiencing problems trying to get the two to work together. If I'm on hte Pandora screen with the Nav running in background, the song will pause when directions are given (audio priority to Nav) and will not play again until I hit play (note that the song is actually paused in pandora and not just temporarily muted by the Android OS) If I'm on the Nav screen (with Pandora running in background) the song will stop playing when directions are given, and when I hit home to get back to Pandora, I find that it had been terminated completely and I have to restart it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOkay so I seem to have a new sleep issue on 2.2. I also had this same issue with the leaked 2.2. This is what happens. My phone will be okay for maybe a day or even a day and a half. it also might occur after only a few hours. Phone will be sleeping fine and then all the sudden I notice my running time is increasing, even when the phone should be sleeping. Then the next day and every day after my running time is at 100% until I do a reboot on the phone. Here is the odd thing with this. If I go to partial wake usage there isn't anything there causing it. All the partial wake things are very small like they should be. With the GPS issue it was Android System that was causing the phone not to sleep and it was obvious. With this issue there is nothing showing in partial wake. I've also seen a few others post replies in certain threads with this issue. I've tried doing a wipe and starting over and that was last night. Within about 6 hours or so off the charger today the issue was already back. We also have another Droid X in the household and I took a look at it tonight and it's also running 100% since off charger and nothing really showing up in partial wake. I'd just like to see how many others are seeing this and hopefully someone can be smart enough to figure out what's causing it. I can't say for sure if I'm actually seeing a battery impact or not. Battery still seems decent to me. It's just very annoying knowing it's not working the way it's supposed to.
