With the froyo update, there are so many apps running, both in my task killer, but also in the running apps section of the settings menu. Like Skype, and several I don't use and don't want running. Anyway with froyo to stop these from starting up and running all the time?

I'm trying to understand what each process is and if any are vital to the phone that should NOT be turned off?

Sync Service - I have the Power Control widget and I have the sync unactivated?

Calendar - Obex Service - Is this just my calendar widget - I don't have any events scheduled?
I don't understand this. If I go to menu - applications, I have manage apps and running services. My running services only shows essential apps running. When I go into manage apps and click on the running tab, it shows a ton of non essential apps running that I have used. My confusion, and question is, which menu is correct? For example, facebook does not show under running services but it shows under the running tab in the manage apps menu. I force close it and it comes back on. Which one is correct?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI now have "Low on Space" and "Not enough storage space for SM (then it's cutoff)". I have done 6 factory resets since getting it and after the last two I have added no apps to it. I have plenty of memory left but the message still pops up and GMAIL sent and Trash is empty, I have 29mb in use out of 7486mb in Gmail in use and i am about to walk into a Verizon store and beat someone senseless with this piece of crap phone. The INC is the only Android+Sense phone doing this right? Now my Bluetooth wont turn on or off. The widget and menu+settings doesn't work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI literally need like step by step instructions.I can't figure out how to use google calendar on the Fascinate.I'd like to put a button/app whatever on that goes directly to it.Whenever I try to hit calendar it comes up and says it's not supported.I don't know if it's because of the cursed Bing on the phone or what. First smartphone here which I don't think I need to point out.I added the android agenda widget but I can't figure out how to use it.It shows appointments but I can't delete things that change.

Now I am almost sure I opened the Market since I have been back home and remember seeing the "paid" apps section with the prices in euros.Now when I access the market I don't have a "paid" apps section. Is it as simple as that the market may not be available in Gibraltar? or am i doing something wrong here.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I charged my battery last night and unplugged it 8AM. About 30min commute using it to play music, then exited and stored it (since I can't bring my phone into work). Left @5PM and once again played some music on the way home. I have made no calls, no texting at all, and now noticed that I'm at 16% and dropping fast (7:25PM). I have read most of the battery threads and have blue tooth, mobile, and GPS turned off. Under running services I have:
Mail: Mail Service
Calender: ObexService
Touch Input:Touch Input
Google: GTalkService
Sync Service: SyncService
Messages: Transaction Service
HTC Message Up loader: UploadMessageService
Battery Widget: BatteryWidgetUpdate
Are these killing my battery, and which ones can I kill off? Which app can tell me who the resource (battery, etc) hogs are?
I just installed Froyo tonight and reinstalled my apps and use Advanced Task Killer free and when I kill my apps it seems as though I always have some running or they will start running without me doing anything. I have News and Weather, Slacker, Voice search, and Skype mobile running and when I click on KILL selected apps It leaves Voice search running. If I click Kill again Slacker, News and weather and voice search are running. Why are these apps running when I'm not actually running them? Any ideas?

I just have a question as to if this is normal or if I have a defective phone. When I got into running apps under settings its shows on the bottom (the numbers of course vary) Avail: 64+219 in 25 and Other 60mb in 4. As soon as I open then browser and go back and check it goes to Avail: 58mb+0.00b in 25 and Other: 0.00b in 4. I checked my fiancee's Moto Droid and it isn't doing this. Is it normal with the Incredible or is my phone defective?

I was receiving RR emails thru GMail on my Droid but now they are not coming thru...I do not have Weatherbug loaded..just got phone 2 days ago so only have Pandora and SportsTap loaded. Here is what I have done so far. I set up my GMail to use my RR email as well. I went to GMail Settings. I added RR as my POP3 email account..."POP Server" set to pop.roadrunner.com and Port set to 110. In the "Accounts and Imports"..."Send mail as" the RR is set to Default. Do I need to change any of the settings in the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" section of GMail Settings?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want 2.2 but I removed some stock bloatware apps and my froyo OTAs always fail. Can I get the stock bloat apps back by simply doing a revert to factory settings?
I'm worried that a factory reset won't revert them because I theoretically shouldn't have been able to ever remove "system" apps in the first place. I'd like to hope/think that the developers would have this feature as part of a reset but who knows.
Is there a program, native or download, that will back up the phone, settings, options, apps, etc.? For people familiar with BlackBerry, I am looking for something like Desktop Manager.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm running Froyo on an N-1.I have uninstalled some of the apps that I previously purchased, and I no longer want them to appear in the Downloads area of the Market app. However, they still show up there with the "Purchased" designation, and they contribute to the count of updated apps whenever Market checks for updates.I have followed the instructions here, but they do not work for me:Removing deleted apps from downloads listing.Any ideas as to how I can keep these non-longer-installed, previously purchased apps from showing up within my list of Downloads?

View 4 Replies View RelatedOn the Facebook app, when you go into your Home, you can select Notifications. I'm assuming this will show you anything new such as friend requests, etc.. It doesn't show anything for me. I have reset the phone 3 times and I still cannot get this section to work. I also go to Menu>Refresh and it still says "No notifications". I know I have some notifications pending because the desktop and mobile site both say I do. Does anyone else have this problem? I have also uninstalled any Facebook updates and it still does not fix this. Am I missing something?
