Almost every time I install a custom Rom, the Marketplace won't show all of the apps. The missing apps aren't always paid apps though, just certain ones (both free and paid). The only solution I've found is to go back to the stock Rom.. does anybody have any ideas/suggestions? I've tried searching (this forum and Google) but didn't really find any answers.

So I was under the impression that you could use ROM manager or ClockWork mod to install a custom kernel that I had downloaded to my SDcard. I downloaded a low-volt, overclock kernel and I have discovered that I don't quite know to flash it to my phone.

Only "top free" and "Just in" are options on the top. No paid apps, but some show in the "Just in". I thought there we supposed to be no market problems with these roms?
They appeared now. Took about seven hours, but they appeared.
I have had no issues before, but now when I flashed the rubix focused 1.0 (from rubix 0.3) i have lost all but 20 camera pictures and all but 1 downloads. Even more odd is that when I restore to my backup the pictures show up but then they start to disappear. I connected my phone to my laptop and only the 20 pictures show up in the camera file, however, ALL of my pictures (camera, download, wallpapers, etc) show up in the thumbnail folder but the quality is not very good (obviously). does anyone have any idea how this happened and what I can do to get my pictures and videos back?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI followed the effen manual to flash a new ROM for my HCT Desire HD on Monday, December 12th with absolute success. However, I have lost the start up sound file and when I boot my android, it boots in quiet mode. I searched for a solution and found many threads explaining how to disable it, but very little on how to enable it.
The problem is when I open my SDcard and look in the media/audio/notifications all I have is a facebook.mp3 file, I do not have any other files that would allow for the start up sound to open on boot.
i have clockwork mod recovery v6.0.1.0 and tried to flash Paranoid android 3.6 and then 3.57 both after wiping.

Is it possible to backup all your apps using something like astro, copy them to your computer, compress them into a zip file, move that back to your phone and flash that after flashing a ROM to restore your apps, is this even possible or is it more complicated than that?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been able to flash velocity 0.2 and then decided to upgrade to 0.3. When I did, I looked into flashing the turbo kernel for ally. Followed the instructions as said and now I have the choice to boot to recovery or if I let the boot go all the way through it gets stuck after the verizon logo. When I try to flash a different ROM, I hit install from SD card and everytime, no matter which ROM I pick, it starts updating but says opening file, then like 2 more lines saying opening, then it stops the install.

Make sure you put in the components correctly. After md5 check has completed, you can flash and take a little break. Once you're in the standby screen on the phone, you can turn it off and reset the Odin and select the ROM and .ops file along with the ROM.

So I got my own rom. Its a lightly edited version of the stock rom. But while I try to flash it it gives me back a error. I found out through a flash app that the ZIP file is not valid. (and not giving a explanation why not..)

The tablet is an allwinner a23 not in some peoples opinion worth a lot of effort to fix. We have an identical tablet with the same firmware. If I root and install a custom recovery on the unbricked tablet can that zip be flashed without a custom recovery? I have looked about a bit and there seems to be conflicting opinions on this. The only prob I can see is the stock recovery may not have the option to wipe the dalvik cache.

So I've been looking into flashing custom kernels, and I can't seem to find an answer to this question. Basically, I'm wondering if the kernel remains after installing a new nightly, or do I have to reflash the kernel every time the ROM updates?

When you flash any custom ROM, sometimes there is a problem with setup wizard! When you choose any language in Setup wizard it gives "Unfortunately setup wizard has stopped" when you press OK, problem comes again?
When you are in Setup wizard don't touch anything! Then one after another clockwise since the left top corner, press the most top left corner, then the most top right corner, then the bottom right corner, and at the end the bottom left corner!
I am trying to make a custom button, having two 9patch files, one for normal state and one for status.
First I tried with a simple 9patch background and the result is fine:

i recently flashed custom roms in my arc s and returned to stock because of the features, when i installed ics 4.0.4 the battery meter is stuck in 100% and the mobile would switch of all of a sudden saying battery is emply i tried deleting battery stats, formatted everything except sd card still no use it is still stuck.. i flashed gingerbread and the battery meter worked fine i was showing the correct percentage, once after i flashed gingerbread charged the battery to 60% and flashed gingerbread it was showing the right percentage... i know the sensor is fine coz its working in gb.. i tried battery calibration and different battery status apps all show 100%. ics once the batterys drained it doesnt charge properly..

(this appeared before when phone was in stock state).Is it possible to do it without re-flashing to stock?

It built without error - processed the kernel and all the CyanogenMod 10 files just fine and generated the .zip. However, after flashing the .zip I end up with a Samsung logo, then a black screen.
The compile went through without error, so I'm a little lost as to what I should check next. From doing a little searching it seems the kernel is at fault, but what to do about that. Am I supposed to flash the kernel separate from the .zip that the CM builder outputs?
I've rooted my Desire, and am currently using the deFrost FroYo ROM.I'm trawling through and looking at different ROM options.I currently have all of my applications installed on the SD Card.If I take out the SD Card with the installed apps, and use a 'fresh' SD card to flash the new ROM, will putting the original SD card in the phone retain all of the apps and just work 'as is'? I did have a question for those of us who switched though.I'm missing such things as Chrome to Phone and the 3D Gallery. I don't particularly mind, but was wondering if anyone else had the same issue. BTW, thanks for all the update info and installation help that was posted! Because of this great forum I was not only able to download the update directly to my phone, but also complete the update without a computer. Not bad for multitasking while out drinking.
