Is anybody else noticing a huge decline in battery life after going from 1.0.1 to 3.1.01??? Saw another post that blamed it on the new FB app (which did seem to drain dramatically), so I uninstalled it and still doesn't improve battery life all that much. I don't have active sync on or anything, so I assume it's either the ROM or Froyo?
View 15 Replies View RelatedAnyone else seeing worse battery life after going to froyo? I now get about 12 hours on limited use (a few texts and maybe a couple phone calls). Prior to the froyo rom (fresh 3.1.x), I was getting about 20+ hours on moderate use (also a fresh rom). I've made sure that google talk isn't running and the awake time isn't an issue. I currently have setcpu running without any profiles active and set it to conservative--no overclocking. My current setup is fresh 3.1.2 rom with Kingxkernel #3.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just rooted last night and today my battery life has been horrible. It has been mostly idle for the entire day (since 6am, that's when i woke up) and yet it is now under 20% (at 5pm). Anyone have similar issues? Before it would last at least 20 hours...
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Moment, and the battery life is horrible. I always have problems with my battery running out before the day is over. That being said, my friend and I are in an engineering class and are working on a solution to the battery life issue. We have a survey we created and we really need some more results on it. We'd really appreciate it if some people would take it. Here is the link: Small Electronics and Battery Life Survey.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI want to disable gps on weather app cause they stay that can cause my battery life to be horrible too
View 3 Replies View RelatedAll Access, however really hating the battery drain I am getting with the updated app. My battery drain problems started immediately after updating from the pre-All Access version which I never had trouble with. Now it hogs all my battery. Even overnight when I'm sleeping, and the app is not be used and fully exited using the back button, I am getting a loss of 10% battery life per hour. Actually using my phone is even worse. In fact it's rather unusable at this rate of drain. In about 45 minutes of GPMAA use, it lost 25% battery life!
Unchecking the Google Music sync from their account section in settings. I did that, but still getting horrible battery life. Short of uninstalling this app, and losing a service I am really starting to like, what can I do?
I can last a good 15 hours and still have like 50 percent. But when I don't use it the battery drains and barely lasts a day. I've been hearing that app killer is bad but if I don't use it I have no battery.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI get about 4 to 6 hours. Moderate use.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm interested in knowing how other people maintain good battery life with their evo. I get about 5 hours a day with moderate usage. I don't do much but put the screen brightness in the middle and occasionally going into "running applications" and closing the ones I don't need or use (most of them being the trashy default stuff); Turn off syncing when not needed; turn off GPS and other seetings that are not continuously needed to be left on.
I also configured my send and receive settings for each mail account. I know there is no official way to close out an app when your done using it, I usually just press the home button when i need to exit an app. Does everyone else do the same? Or is there a better technique to officially close apps and stop them running when you are done using them? Without DLing a task killer app cause I don't want one.? Feel Free to share your ideas or techniques.
Did your battery life improve or get worse after the update? I did not update yesterday after reading about all the bricked phones. I got the message to update this evening but cancelled it for now because I absolutely need my phone tomorrow and because I am leery about what it will do to my near-perfect EVO. I get good to great battery life currently but do have some slight grounding issues. It would be nice to have those fixed and several report overall better performance.
But I have seen a few posts saying that battery life got worse, and the ones who say it is better are still not as good as I am currently getting. I got burned with an update once before (Samsung Moment 2.1 - supposed to make everything better but in reality made my decent battery life only half what it was before). So I wanted to get some input from those of you who have already done the OTA update - what are the results on the battery life?
So after all the horror stories about battery life I was kinda worried about my new Desire especially as I am a full brightness, 3G loving kinda man. But having got the phone on saturday, I have found it quite good. I mean, I played with it almost constantly for about 8 hours, and I still had 30% charge left.
Normal usage would be maybe an 2 hours or so per day, so i don't think there is any danger I'm gonna run outta juice at work. Also, when sleeping, I don't seem to lose any battery power at all, despite the experiences of others. Anyone else think the battery problems are overblown?
New to the Evo just wanted to know, when i first get it what should i do to get the best out of the batt life? Drain it then charge it, or should i just throw it on charge for some amount of hours first. I have heard different things from people and just wanted some tips.
Also at night when not using the phone should i turn the phone fully off does that help in anyway or is it OK to just have the phone on all the time and never turning it off.
My Christmas gift this year... the HTC Hero. Quite happy so far. However because neither my hubby (he has a Palm Pre) and I have ever had an android before, I have a few questions that he can't seem to answer. So please excuse the simiplicity of my questions
1)) What is the best way to maintain good battery life? Is there a specific % I should never let the batter fall below?
2)) Besides from being able to pull ringtones from my MP3 files on my PC, are there any good websites that offer free ringtones for android devices?
3)) My Hero came packed with a whole bunch of apps that I will never use. Like NFL Mobile, Nascar, Amazon and YouTube apps. Is it okay to delete these from my phone entirely? Will doing so free up memory for bigger and/or better apps?
4)) Are there any types files or apps that I should not put on my phone?
Why does everyone seem to hate SenseUI? I find it beautiful and very smooth. I wouldn't want to remove it when I root my phone. I also get very good battery life after my recent battery tweaks.

View 11 Replies View Relatedbefore too charge my galaxy note 2 takes just 2 and half hours, but yesterday I changed to new charger cable that is longer and maybe the material made its now good, the phone took 5 hour to charge, now I want to know charging phone very slow is good for the battery life?

OK I would really like some honest sound offs about the battery life on the Fascinate. I'll go first to get it rolling! After about a week with it, I'll say mine pretty much sucks! Its like its got worse! Seriously my evo and incredible both had better battery life. I tried going with out moving wallpaper today and it was about the same, example, left my house at about 10am this morning with a fully charged battery, with some moderate use I was down to 20 percent by 2:30? Not good in my book so far, so I'm wondering if I got a lemon? Also, Did anyone's phone come with the battery already installed inside the device? Mine did, and I've never seen that, the battery is usually in plastic wrap. Got it from a corporate store in NYC!
View 49 Replies View RelatedRecently switched from the Eris to the Droid thanks to Verizon and needed a crash course on Droid Roms. I am familiar with rooting for the Eris, but it seems Droid is a different beast. I have no issue rooting, I can figure that out from the posts. I just need help consolidating what ROMs to look at and what I should be looking for.
My priorities are:
1) Battery Life
2) Speed/Stability
3) Similar "look" to Droid, but doesn't has to be absolute
4) Ability to customize status bar, etc. I want to try my hand with Desktop Visualizer and create my own "theme" as it were for the phone.
That's really it. I realize having good speed and battery life may be a trade off, so focus more on battery life. The Droid is already way quicker than my Droid (even rooted), but who doesn't like a little extra speed?
I currently have the Samsung Galaxy (I7500). I have it for a year+ now. A couple of months ago I wanted to buy the Desire, but I decided its too early for an upgrade (big mistake). It's very hard for me to keep waiting for the perfect device since I hate my galaxy so much. So my question is which phone would you recommend?
IPhone 4 no way ofcourse, Samsung Galaxy S no way cause Samsung really screwed things up with the original galaxy (and it has no Flash), which leaves me with HTC Desire HD or Desire Z. The DHD has an extremely weak battery, and I want my next phone to last a day (moderate user). So, is the Desire Z worth the money? The things that bother me with the Desire Z are:
1. Weight - It weigh 180 grams! Thats sick, way too much. (the Desire is about 135, which isn't light, but not heavy either)
2. Battery life - I'm not sure how long does it last under moderate usage.
3. Size - its quite big, and its especially because of the keyboard, which I don't really need / care about. So, Whats your opinion?
If you're like a lot of Android users, you're obsessed with battery life and probably require a percentage widget. If you don't use a battery life widget, this probably isn't for you. I used to use Curve Fish's battery life widget which, in my initial testing months ago, didn't seem to affect battery life so I kept it and didn't think much about it.
My brother-in-law showed me a percentage indication that goes over the battery icon in the status bar on his Evo 4G. I found this hack for the Hero:
[PORT] Display Percent Battery Left within Battery Icon - Fresh 2.1.2+ - xda-developers
It adds the percentage remaining on top of your existing battery gauge in the status bar. Yes, root is required for this. At the time of writing this, I am at 14h 20m since unplugged and have 69% remaining. I would typically be between 47-53% remaining by this time. That equates to 3.5% drain per hour improved to 2.2% drain per hour. Which then comes out to around 60% increase in battery life without the loss of any features.
As per this post, An idea for great battery life
Could someone with good battery life on a Galaxy S post their batterstats.bin file?
I'd like to try this fix and not sure if the batterystats file would work from the other thread since its a different phone.
The internal meter says it is due for charge long before its out of juice. Battery Left widget will give accurate voltage levels, but it too is fooled, even after proper calibration.
View 15 Replies View Relateddoes battery status pro drain your battery life?
View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone else find that their battery does best at like 60%-70% charged and when it gets below 40 it moves a lot quicker? Also I've done 3 full drain and full recharges so far and my battery has improved sloightly each time, do you reccomend I do it again or is that just bad for the battery?
View 4 Replies View RelatedBackground info:
- I'm running the "Battery Left" widget and I have it displaying "estimated percentage left", "system percentage", and "estimated time left until dead".
- I listen to A LOT of Slacker Radio.
My issues:
- I was previously getting about 19+ hours out of a fully charged battery. 2-3 days ago I started having issues with the widget (I think it may have started when I installed an update to the widget) so I recalibrated it to no avail. Then I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Within a few hours it claimed that it was getting accurate readings (when I first installed the widget weeks ago, it took days to get accurate) and now says that I should be getting 9 hours out of a fully charged battery. I know that can't be right so I'll see how the widget adjusts itself over the next few days, but, any thoughts? (I know a lot of you guys use the same widget and know how it works...)
- Also, In the first two hours of my phone being unplugged this morning, it went from 100% to 70%. I did run Slacker for about an hour and a half of that time, but could it really drain the battery that much that quickly? And I noticed that when I close Slacker, if I go into phone settings, applications, running services - there's still a Slacker update thing running in there. Could that be draining the battery too, even if it's only checking for updates?
- I really don't run a lot of stuff on this phone. I keep wifi and gps turned off. I use bluetooth only a few hours each night. Minimal web browsing. Although, my POP email gets checked every 5 mins (but I just changed it to every 10) and I do use gchat and text a decent amount, but I'd say overall, it's "light" use (except for Slacker which could be a huge drain, right?)
My battery life was bad, but it was OK, but in the past few days my battery life is 10% per 30minutes(Just over 5 hours on a charge).I used to get 8-10 hours on a charge.I noticed last week that while it was charging the status of the battery was "Overheat".I think I somehow cooked the battery?I use TaskKiller and kill 95% of apps automatically, I have bluetooth, wireless,GPS disabled and the screen dimmed.I have not changed or installed any new apps.I have not changed the way I use the phone at all.My battery was dead, 0%, and it charged to 95% in about 45 minutes. Is this even possible? In fact in the past two days I have not gotten the charge above 95% at all.

View 4 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know which Sense ROM out there to use that has the best battery life? Or is there a Kernel? I currently am rooted with stock. I only rooted for wireless tethering and now I just want a ROM to have great battery life. Managing this battery has just become tiresome even with all the chargers I have. Not looking for tweaks and settings changes, just need a good ROM.
