HTC Incredible :: System Panel - Memory Used
Jul 23, 2010
There are three storage notes on System Panel: Memory, Internal Storage (6661.8 M available) , and SD Card (7681.2 M available). Memory says 71% used (and 117.6 M available) or 29% free. What does this mean? I don't even have anything open except for Lookout in the background (antivirus and backup disabled) and System Panel on. If it's ROM, how could I be using 71% doing practically nothing?

Not looking for a debate on whether to use a task killer or not. Just want to know if the System Panel task killer still works after the 2.2 update. Doesn't seem to work the same for me.

When I tap "Stop All" in System Panel it opens an application or program, sometimes it has opened GoogleEarth, Barcode scanner, mostly it opens the Phone page. How can I avoid this so it goes to home when I stop all? I've tried going to Home before stopping, that doesn't work, when it opened Google Earth I hadn't used that for days.

I anyone else noticing issues with System Panel on the leaked Froyo Rom? I assume 2.2 handles memory in a different way, and System Panel doesn't read it correctly. It shows all of my apps running without anything being cached. Also, the CPU clock seems to be running at 700MHz or more constantly instead of coming down to ~300 or so like it showed on 2.1. However the CPU graph on the top left does come down like normal.

As it has already been noted in EVO threads, SystemPanel App / Task Manager history /installer and a few other features no longer work. That is because it has finally broken into a lite ver and paid ver.
The lite (free) might be fine for most. The paid is $2.99, well worth it IMO.

For some reason the history tab on the system panel app no longer works. When I click it nothing happens. I'm not sure why it stopped. Every other part of the program works fine. Any idea what the problem could be?
Also I'm typing this from the default browser and it seems to be working just fine, I'm impressed.

I downloaded System Panel, and its cool as hell I really like it. But after a day went by I noticed I stopped receiving email notifications. So I assumed System Panel was the culprit. So I proceeded to uninstall it and voila, I'm getting email alerts again. So I reinstalled it and made sure all the HTC system services were under exclusion, because I thought that maybe I killed the app that handles the email notifications. Well after reinstall and making sure that all the critical HTC system services were set to exclusions, It started again. No email notifications. What am I doing wrong? The EVO is my first Android Phone and I really like System Panel. I just want them to play nice together. My 24 hours are up so I cant request a refund. But If I cant figure it out I will accept the 3.00 dollar loss and go back with ATK.

I recently downloaded System Panel(paid) to help manage my battery. The problem is that I dont understand what all I should be looking for. Most of the day, my device usage is near 100%. Is this normal? Can somebody help me better understand what I should be aware of when viewing my history.

After reading the thread on here about not needing a task manager, I removed mine and downloaded system panel just to keep an eye on whats always running and be able to kill any rogue apps. However, whenever I open system panel lite, its only ever the one that seems to be using the most CPU in the foreground apps, with it having the most bar full on the left. So what I'm confused about is that whether its normally just using a lot of my CPU to keep track of things, in which case I should uninstall it, or whether its a case of it showing up as using so much because I am using it at the time of checking to check the CPU usage.

I'm having problems with my Droid Incredible battery not lasting a full day; even when I don't think I'm doing a lot. Maybe its the K9 Mail applications or my stock monitor, or some other application that is using a lot of power.
I got the System Panel application to help, but it doesn't see to give me a view of what application is using up the power.

I use system panel light to check what is running in my background, just to have an idea. My question is, what is a cached application (inactive)? I am wondering, because I am trying to optimize my battery life and I want to know how this phone works with things running in the background. Should I end those applications that are cached, or are the really not doing anything sitting there?

If you place your finger on the top bar, for example on the time in the top right hand corner, a second bar will appear. Without lifting your finger, slide your finger down to open the box. To close it you can slide it up from the bottom or tap the dot in the middle of the bottom bar.

I don't text and actually have this feature disabled (I was receiving all kinds of spam and was told I'd either have to disable or pay for the spam texts).
Because of this, the text home screen (second from left when scrolling through the home screens) is useless to me. Is there a way to change the screen so that it's not a "text" screen? I tried adding a different widget and was told there was no space.

Just bought a Ramos W31 tablet. I download some few games and it's popping that I don't have enough space in my system memory or it is called external memory. I have a screen shot that indicates my memory which is 1gb internal and 13gb sd card, but according to device manager that my system memory is full. I deleted the games that I download and still the same. How to delete some files and what is the cause of this? And why is my system memory is so low?

Moto was all about stating how unobtrusive this me blur was but from a quick look with system tools all the bloat and the blur of. Taking up more system memory then sense UI. Is there any way to stop them so they don't just start back up again, I'm using launcher pro but the Moto home keeps running in the background and it comes back even after force closes through task managers.

A long time ago I had edited a file that is read on boot, in that file is written which one of the two 'partition' has to be mounted as what.
Basically, my 32GB microsd is seen as the internal memory of the device (which would be 12 GB), and the other one as micro sd. The result is that most application would go to the microsd by default, using thus 32GB for apps instead of 12GB.
This is because my microsd is failing. Changed with a new one, and now it is failing again. I suppose my phone has become a 'micro sd destroyer'. Cannot do anything about it, so better to use the internal memory instead of the card for main use..... So how do I switch back to normal mounting (micro sd as micro sd and internal memory as internal memory and not switched up) ?

Please direct me to a description of the techniques that the ContentProvider employs to access data. I am trying to understand how it works as well as what is tunable or even if its meant to be tunable. It the memory management tiered, cached, virtual, flat? Is it file based, shmem based, stream based? Can there be a combination thereof?
Any information, suggestions, or references are welcome. The android fundamentals page says: "The data can be stored in the file system, in an SQLite database, or in any other manner that makes sense;" but the android ContenProvider page barely skins the onion.
