View 15 RepliesIt seems like the stock browser scrolling is sluggish and less responsive after installing Froyo. Anyone else experiencing this?
View 34 Replies View RelatedI updated to Froyo with the RUU from xda and immediately noticed slow and laggy scrolling on web pages. I noticed that although I did have flash 10.1, the version number was 10.1.72.? I found a version 10.1.92.8 on the droid life forums, updated to this version and the slow scrolling is gone.

View 3 Replies View RelatedOk, I've liked Sense but I'm considering trying LP. I'm just a bit confused as to how to go about it. Does it work w/ Froyo on the Incredible?
View 19 Replies View RelatedI gave up waiting for the official update so decided to take matters into my own hands. Right now I have s-off, 2.15 radio and running wave 3 Rom. So far so good! Just had a few questions.
1. Is there a way to restore my user defined dictionary? What about bookmarks?
2. My phone does not seem Any faster. Is that normal? Browser seems to scroll slightly slower - maybe due to flash?
3. Are any of the HTC elements safe to restore from my titanium backup?
4. When I installed adrynalyns wave 3 Rom did it install a kernel as well?
since I upgraded to froyo and rooted it takes up to 10 minutes to see my sd card on my PC. Sometimes it seems like it drags down my PC. I did also upgrade my card to a 32 gb which could be the problem or did I not format it correctly be the problem. Tia
View 1 Replies View RelatedEver since 2.2, my browser (I use Dolphin HD) moves very slow. Slow load times, and after hitting the Menu button it takes a few seconds for the menu to pop up. Am I the only experiencing this?
Also after the update, the stock media player (I use the HTC one) has developed a few problems. The biggest problem is that it no longer remembers where I pause my music. This problem only develops after being paused for a few minutes. After that, when I press play it restarts the song it was paused on. The other problem, which I've seen reported a few times, is that the player can lag easily and skips sometimes. I've noticed that when I play music and try to look through my music at the same time, that will also lag the music. Is there either a fix, or another music player that will remember where in the song it was paused and not be so laggy? I also need it to be able to Scrobble with my Last.fm account.
The laggy browser, the laggy music player and a general legginess seems to me like the phone is being over-taxed while doing nothing so when it's told to do anything else it lags. This was never a problem in 2.1. Also, after the 2.2 update I did a factory reset to make sure there was no lingering problems, and I have experienced all of these issues while using and while not using a task killer.
Definitely slower than TW on my phone...

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for people's opinions on which browser they think is best for 2.2 and why.I've searched and mostly came up with older threads talking about browsers that let you view flash sites, obviously before FROYO.I've experienced a problem on a couple different sites, using the stock browser, where the webpage continuously reloads,so when I zoom in to read something,5 seconds later, the page reloads and it zooms back out.I've tried stopping the page and 5 seconds later,it still reloads. Very annoying, so I was going to try another browser and see what happens.Any thoughts or comments please?
View 26 Replies View RelatedI just got froyo and noticed when I kill the browser with my task killer it no longer defaults back to the home page when I open it again. Also, the history does not clear. It shows it as cleared, but since I can reopen the browser and scroll back to where I have been browsing it is not deleted.Bug, or something with my phone?Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this because a friend of mine said he was not.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was using the plus version of LP, but it seemed to run pretty slow on my phone. Usually with menu selections (aka widget selection, or app selection when long pressing on the screen). The widgets also didn't update properly etc.I'm curious though is it might of been some advanced settings that I didn't play with. I typically just did an install setup my dock and homescreen, but never touched the advanced settings.Does anyone have some advanced settings they could share? Also my phone isn't rooted, would that cause all the lag with it? Cause honestly TW runs fine.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIf I type a word in fast, the phone is still processing the first few letters. This is sometimes not always. Okay here is a good test, it also forms a lag in text messaging but only does it when I am sending a mass text message out to the maximum ten receipients. Please see if you can reproduce my problem. Again set the keyboard to android, open the stock messaging program, add up to the maximum ten contacts, then try composing a message. Does your keyboard processing come to a crawl also?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I try to scroll using a scrollview (wrapped around a textview), there will be no response. I've noticed this in both my apps and the only common thing between them is the textview in both apps use Spanned (SpanableStringBuilder to be exact) text. This happens even when there is no activity on the window and no any pops up either.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am having a customized list view in my application, which is showing an image and text.
The Image I am getting from URL, using the code below:
CODE:..............
All is working perfect, except the list view scrolling, its very slow. If I disable the images, the scroll speed smooth-ens , but with the image enabled, it lags alot.
Is there any possible way I can reduce or remove this lagging?
I have an HTC Hero, rooted, latest Cyanogen with LauncherPro Plus. But I don't know if it's a rooted issue so I posted here. Sometimes scrolling slows to a crawl, sometimes it takes a minute to go back to the home screen, LauncherPro crashes a lot, the lock screen takes a few seconds to unlock. Other times all of that zips through. It's maddening About 24 megs of free storage on phone. What could it be? And the phone reboots a lot on its own also.
View 29 Replies View RelatedHas the copy/search function been removed from the browser in froyo or did it never have it? When i copy in the browser, I only see the option to share or copy to the clipboard. I have the HTC mytouch slide 3g, running 2.1 and when I copy in that browser, I have the option to search but I don't see that with the Incredible.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAs it may be a little while before Froyo is available for the Incredible I wonder if it might be possible to port Froyo's browser with flash support to Android 2.1. Ah the things you dream up when stuck at work doing data entry all day.
View 10 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone else suffer from slow scrolling? For instance on the list of applications and on a large message thread the scrolling is very laggy and jerky. Surely this shouldn't happen with it's 1Ghz processor?
View 5 Replies View RelatedHave any if of you guys been experiencing this kind of slow laggy delayed scrolling while on internet? I am running launcher pro and started noticing this effect after getting the 2.2 froyo update. 2.2 doesn't seem to impressive. Other than the flash capability. I could careless for it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor a project, I'm displaying an image with sizes 800 x 600 and I've implemented my custom scrolling (horizontal and vertical) - which is works fine. However, my problem is that it's not fast enough. If you continuously move your finger on screen for instance, scrolling is not responding fast enough. There is a lag and you need to wait (say 400-500ms) for new scrolled image to be loaded. Now below I described how I implemented scrolling and my question is that
- How can I make it faster, if possible - Is there any other better way to implement this.
My custom scrolling solution:
* I have a Main activity, SurfaceView and a thread
* In main activity, I'm using GestureDetector and override onScroll method.
* In onScroll method of activity, I'm passing values to SurfaceView's "handleScrolling" method.
* In "handleScrolling" method, I'm calculating proper values and using "newImage = Bitmap.createBitmap(myImage, starX, stopY, SCREEN_WIDTH, SCREEN_HEIGHT)"; to create a new, "scrolled" image.
* Then in thread loop, I'm drawing this "newImage" to canvas.
I need a few replays to decide to exchange my hero or just return it. I am wondering if all heroes have the lag inside the browser while typing such as typing in this forum or on yahoo mail etc etc. I use the stock browser and i dont want dolphin or steel. if not all heroes have this lag inside the browser than I shall exchange mine and try a new unit as I am well inside my thirty days, I am 200 percent happy with everything else on the phone. oh and btw I have sound/hepatic/predictive all turned off while experiencing the typing lag in the browser.
View 7 Replies View Relatedwon't stay default *launcher. After one of the recent Launcherpro updates I'm having this issue where the window pops up asking which launcher I want to use when hitting the home button. It's not remember to default to launcherpro even when clicking the default box. It seems to reset after holding the home button to bring up the recent apps window. Every time now without fail. Can you test it out to see how widespread this bug is? Please list your phone and rom.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I first got my Desire I used the stock internet browser. I added a bookmark for netcarshow.com. After a while I started using Dolphin HD which I found to be far better, and started adding several bookmarks to Dolphin. Fast forward a month or so and I'm still using Dolphin HD and have been using LauncherPro for the past couple of weeks.
The problem is when I add the LauncherPro Bookmarks widget to a homescreen. It only shows the bookmark for netcarshow.com; my saved bookmarks in Dolphin are nowhere to be seen. They all show when using the browser, but not in the LauncherPro widget. I've looked through every setting for Android, Dolphin and LauncherPro but can't find a way to import/export the bookmarks. Also used Astro to look for bookmarks folders (to copy/paste) and viewed the SD card using USB on my PC, but unable to find any stored bookmark data. The LauncherPro widget is excellent but I can't figure out how to get it to display the Dolphin bookmarks, any ideas?
Whenever I am typing while on my browser (Dolphin HD), how do I make the keyboard disappear? Sometimes it does not do it on it's own and I'm having to view things while the keyboard is there. If I hit the "back" button on the bottom of the EVO, it takes me to the previous page and if I hold the "menu" button down it pulls up the browser's menu. What am I doing wrong if anything?
View 1 Replies View RelatedOkay, so I know that Google changed the way we choose our keyboards/input methods in ICS, so instead of long-pressing a text-area, we can pull down the notification menu, and choose "select input type"...
However, when I'm typing something while within the default Internet browser, I can't see the notification bar, nor can I find a way to switch input methods... I generally use Swype as my default keyboard, but sometimes need to switch to the stock keyboard. How to accomplish this without leaving the browser?
Was typing an address into browser today, and had one number left when the X just locked up. I mean hard lock. Didn't respond to touch or the power button or home button. Finally had to pull the battery and power it back on. No issue since then, but with Moto's Razr and V60 screen issues, I'm hoping this won't be a problem.
View 8 Replies View RelatedIn android cupcake release note, it said there is an improvement about Browser scrolling improvement. Can you please tell me what is the technique that android uses to improve that?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm sorry to double post, but this is very important to me. I am making an intranet website that exactly fits the screen of the device it will be used on (Archos 7 home tablet in this case, Android 1.5).
All browsers (default, dolphin, steel, UC) interpret tap&drag on a website as scrolling. I don't want this. Ideally, I want it to be registered as mouse actions. Is there a way to do this?
