Apr 29, 2010I work in Basking Ridge, NJ and my Sense home screen keeps saying I am in New York. I cannot find where to make the change from a static location to my current location's weather.

View 27 RepliesIs there anyway to turn off the HTC Sense Weather animations? I like the widget, but I don't need it to animate windshield wipers to let me know it's pouring outside. I can see and hear that for myself. The cloud effects also clash badly with my background.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm talking about the default clock/weather widget that is on the home screen...
Is it possible to make it so the widget shows weather info for a user-specified location? I was able to add an additional location once inside the HTC Weather app (by scrolling down), but I have had no luck finding anywhere to change the location that appears on the actual home screen.
It wouldn't be such a problem since it does correctly display my location (New York), but it is WAY off in terms of weather. For example, the widget is showing 72 degrees when it's actually 85. That's a HUGE difference and it's bothering me a lot.
I'm assuming it is pulling weather data from somewhere in upstate NY and not from NYC (where I am)? The manual entry I added is showing correct info, but it's very annoying having incorrect data showing up on the home screen and having to click into the widget and then scroll down to get the actual info.
My wife really likes the weather animations with the stock Sense UI weather widget. However, she is running LP and cannot use that widget anymore. Does anyone know of a weather/clock widget that still gives you those animations that can be used with LP?
I have beautiful widgets currently, but it doesn't show the full screen animations like she likes (windshield wipers if it is raining, bright sunlight when sunny, etc.).
Do you have settings were you can have the weather animations play longer in the back ground? Do you have other options when the weather animations play besides when you swipe the lock screen? I am new to the Android world but I love HTC weather animations.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAlmost a deal breaker if I can't use that clock with Launcher Pro. Is there a way to get it on there? Pressed add + but saw no option to put it on there. Just analog clock.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI don't want to use Sense as my launcher or keep the stock lockscreen either (I use Apex and Widgetlocker).
*I just want a simple app that commands the HTC sense full screen weather animations.
Teslacoil was able to do it with HTC Sense 3.0 on gingerbread 2.3.3 and 2.3.4, but won't work on ICS/JB/Kitkat.
And after downloading almost all of the other lockscreen replacements, none of them have this functionality either.
No I'm not interested in beautiful widgets, Fancy widgets, or HD widgets animations.
I have an unbranded standard HTC Desire and wondered if there's such a widget that looks the same as the HTC flip clock but without the weather feature as shown in the pic below? I don't want to mess around with the standard rom though.
View 5 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know why but my clock/weather widget always shows my location as a few towns over. If i manually open it it then shows it correct as i can add a city myself, but it doesnt update on the home screen, any ideas? I read somewhere about setting your home city, but im not seeing it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAm looking for a weather app that works like the OLD HTC Sense app.
The new weather app HTC included with v2.1 doesn't allow me to add cities that aren't in its list ... frankly I don't give a crap what the weather in Paris or Dubai is! We used to be able to input additional cities, current locations, etc. and swipe thru the list. If there's a way to add cities I haven't found it yet ... anyone know how?
I've looked at the WeatherBug, Accuweather, Weather Channel, etc., etc. apps and while they're nice they don't allow me to EASILY switch from city to city. So, what I'm looking for is EXACTLY what we had before.... Anyone know where I can find that?
Running 2.1v3, for the life of me I cannot get the sense widget app to change from saying "current location". i try to add a location but it wont find the one I'm at. I never had to do manually enter a city before.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI tried removing it and adding it back about ten times and it still won't show the weather..just says "my location" under the clock. If I click on the clock and load it, I can then click on the clock and it will load the weather screen, updated and all...but it still refuses to load it on the home screen with the time. Happened a few days after froyo update. How can I get the weather back as part of the clock widget??
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I got the 2.2 Update. If I try adding the News & Weather widget, the weather is always wrong. Always has the sun on all night and temperature is wrong too. I checked all options of course, should work fine. Has anyone else encountered this?
View 6 Replies View RelatedOne of the things I liked about Sense (I'm rooted now and running the Second Wave ROM) was the HTC weather animations when the screen was unlocked. After installing Widget Locker, I noticed an option to turn them on and now I have them back! I also installed the Weather & Toggle Widget and installed the weather skin that looks just like the Sense weather with the flip clock. The annoying part is that when it's sunny, or partly sunny, the "sun animation" from Sense doesn't perfectly align with the Weather & Toggle Widget weather icon. I know, I know, it's a minor problem and goes away when the animation is done, but the lack of symmetry sometimes annoys the hell out of me.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter I did the OTA to 2.2 I am having a problem with sense loading. When I unlock my screen will say loading... for a bit while all my apps and such pop up on my home screen.
View 8 Replies View RelatedCan the Sense UI be turned off easily? I prefer a phone without it and I've been waiting for the Nexus One for Verizon or Sprint. With the HTC Incredible coming out I'm starting to wonder if the Nexus One is going to be pushed out a little further to give Incredible sales time to build. My contract was up months ago and I really need a new phone. I'm thinking of maybe just biting the bullet and getting the Incredible if I can shut off Sense.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a couple of questions about the sense weather clock widget...first, when I had the Eris I though I remembered it actually flipping and I know in WM's sense it does flip. Also is there anyway to skin the clock w/out root? I had the black clock on my Eris after the 2.1v2 leak upgrade.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI received the 2.2 OTA update. The phone is not rooted. Ever since 2.2, the Sense UI restarts dozens of times a day. By "restart" I mean the while HTC screen, followed by (loading...) with a spinner for about 10 sec. It happens sometimes when unlocking the screen, sometimes when returning from some app (totally random, no pattern that I can see). I know, "Factory Reset" or "Wipe and do RUU" or whatever other old wives' tale you want to dredge up from the posts here. Those drastic measures seem to have created new problems for as many (or more) people than they've helped.
Meanwhile I've seen references to this issue woven within threads on the many battery life and browser lag threads, but no thread on this issue itself. At the risk of creating more old wives' tales ("Uncle Festus told me I should"), I'd like to see if folks can detect a pattern or an app that might be making it happen. I suspect it's a bug in Sense on 2.2 and not some app. It started immediately after my 2.2 OTA, and before I installed any new apps. It seems to happen more often after some type of notification like an alarm or something that puts a notification into the pull down list. Did it start right after 2.2? When do you see it? Has someone found a cure apart from "reformatting the hard drive" (the ultimate sledgehammer)?
I really love the Sense widgets for messaging and email and was wondering if there are any alternatives out there I have overlooked. I have tried Launcher Pro and I have tried every app on the market for these items and can find nothing that does the trick for me. I love the speed and features of Froyo but it does nothing for me without these type of widgets. Am I forever stuck with extra Sense, Plain Jane, and Smash and Suave Sense? Has anyone made any progress with porting 2.2 Sense from the Incredible or Evo to Eris?

View 1 Replies View RelatedBack when my friend first got her Droid, she showed me that she synched her Facebook account to her phone and all of her contacts were from Facebook. Does this still work the same way for HTC's Sense UI?I know that you can synch your Facebook account to the Incredible but does it actually make all of your contacts your Facebook friends? This is a feature I would like alot because all of my friends that I am close with are my FB friends and I really like having all of my contacts have pictures and their full names.
View 15 Replies View RelatedSo I got my sense to run in landscape, its clearly a glitch, but a repeatable one. I'm toying around with LP so I have home switcher. When you push home, the switcher comes up, as you select HTC Sense turn your phone into landscape, then sense will run like that. The home screens are a little werid, but all the apps and things work fine. FIGURE IT OUT HTC CMON
